Description

  Une forme     dexécution   de l'objet de l'invention  sera décrite,à titre d'exemple, en référence au dessin  annexé dans lequel:  La     fig.   1 est une vue en élévation frontale du  joint universel;  la     fig.    2 est une vue en élévation latérale suivant  les flèches     II-II    de la     fig.   1 ;  la     fig.   3 est une vue analogueà la     fig.   1 mais  montre le joint en élévation éclatée;

    la fig. 4 est une vue en coupe transversale sui vant la ligne IV-IV de la fig. 2, - la fig. 5 est une vue de la rotule centrale suivant les flèches V-V de la fig. 3 ; les fig. 6 à 12 illustrent les diverses phases de montage du joint.

  Un joint universel comporte (fig. 1, 2, 4 et 12) deux fourches1 et 2, engagées respectivement dans deux gorges méridiennes perpendiculaires3 et 4 d'une rotule centrale5.

  Chaque fourche1, 2 (fig.

  On présente (fig.

  Universal joint The present invention relates to a universal joint comprising two forks engaged respectively in two perpendicular meridian grooves of a central ball joint.

  In general, in joints of this type, a notch is provided on one or two forks to enable the joint to be fitted. The existence of this notch on a fork constitutes a weak point for the resistance to to torsion, to shocks and to alternate operation.

  The present invention relates to a universal joint which is free from this drawback.

  The universal joint, object of the invention, is characterized in that each fork has an uninterrupted engagement hoop, while means are provided for engaging the ends of each hoop in a groove, so that the extent of 'engagement protrudes by a semicircle to prevent inadvertent removal of the seal.

  An embodiment  of  the object of the invention will be described,  to  by way of example, with reference to the appended drawing in which :  The fig.  1  is a front elevational view of the universal joint ;  in fig. 2 is a side elevational view along arrows II-II of FIG.  1;  fig.  3  is a view similar to  to  FIG.  1  but shows the joint in exploded elevation ;

   fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view along the line IV-IV of FIG. 2 , - fig. 5 is a view of the central patella along the arrows V-V in fig. 3; fig. 6 to 12 illustrate the various gasket assembly phases.

  A universal joint comprises (fig. 1, 2, 4 and 12) two forks 1 and 2, respectively engaged in two perpendicular meridian grooves 3 and 4 with a central 5.

  Each fork 1, 2 (fig. 3) has an uninterrupted engagement hoop 6 whose extent exceeds a semicircle before assembly of the seal. The ends of each arch 6 are formed by converging facets 7.

  An oblong bowl 8 is provided in the grooves 3 and 4 for engaging the ends 7 of each arch 6 </ B > in a groove 3 or 4.

  Pit 8 (fig. 5) has two zones 9 and 10 intended for to </ B > cooperate respectively with the forks 1 and 2 for the successive engagement of these. Zone 9 (fig. 5) is placed at a crossing of the two gorges 3 and 4, while zone 10 extends laterally to from zone 9 in throat 4.

  The gasket is fitted in as follows.

  We present (fig. 6) the fork 1 opposite the ball joint 5 and we engage one of the ends 7 of the fork 1 (fig. 7) in zone 9 of the bowl 8. Then the fork 1 is rotated in the direction of arrow F of in fig. 7 by resting by the end 7 in zone 9 of, the basin 8, which allows you to engage the arch 6 of the fork 1 in the groove 3 (fig. 8).

  Then the ball joint 5 is rotated in the direction of the arrow FI in fig. 3. This rotation is guided by the engagement of the groove 3 on the arch 6 of the fork che 1. < / B> The ball joint 5 is thus brought into position of in fig. 9 where the bowl 8 is in the axis of the fork 1, the zone 10 of the bowl 8 being unmasked laterally.

  In this zone 10 of the bowl 8, engages one end 7 of the fork 2 (fig. 10) </ B > then an action is exerted on the fork 2 relative to to the fork 1 in the direction of the arrow F2 (fig. 11) </ B > which tends to engage the arch 6 of the fork 2 in the groove 4. When this engagement is carried out, the seal is permanently fitted (fig. 12) and does not can come undone.

  However, if necessary, the seal can be removed voluntarily, by the reverse process of what has just been described.

  It will be noted that the described gasket is easy to to manufacture and is very robust thanks to the large contact surfaces.

  This seal exhibits high resistance under difficult operating conditions, including high resistance to alternating operation, shock and vibration. Its maximum working angle A (fig. 1) is large and is of the order of of 450. In addition, the joint has reserves lubrication.
