Es, liegt der Erfindung deshalb die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein. Binde- mittel zum;

Zusammengefasst erfolgt folgende Reaktion:
Fe2(S04)3+CaS03+H,0=2 FeS04+CaS04+H2S.O4 Aminophenol hat etwa die gleiche Wirkung wie die oben angeführten; Reduktionsmittel.
Binder for setting mortar The invention relates to a binder for setting mortar.
It is known that finely ground anhydrite (CaS04) is very slowly converted into calcium sulfate dihydrate (dihydrate gypsum) with water. For this reason, the use of pure, finely ground anhydrite to set mortar is practically meaningless.
It is also known that the reaction of anhydrite with water can be accelerated, for example, by iron (II) sulfate, where anhydrite becomes a valuable binding agent for setting mortar.
The setting process of the anhydrite takes place depending on the fineness of the grind and the type and amount of the accelerator stimulating the setting of the anhydrite in a longer or shorter time, in which a corresponding anhydrite content is converted into the dihydrate. If the setting process is too slow,
free water then evaporates from the mortar, so that the conversion of the anhydrite into dihydrate gypsum does not take place completely. More or less large proportions of the anhydrite remain in the mortar without setting.
The consequence of this is that the anhydrite begins to react again when it later absorbs water, with an increase in volume. This has a disadvantageous effect, especially with Anhydrite.strich, because a renewed setting of the setting reaction leads to damage in the form of cracks and unevenness in the surface.
The invention is based on the knowledge that the delay in the setting process is due to a decrease in the effectiveness of the iron (II) sulfate used as an accelerator.
It is therefore the object of the invention to provide a. Binding agent for;
Specify the setting of mortar which contains anhydrite (CaS04) and a low content of iron (II) sulfate, which acts as an accelerator and does not weaken the effectiveness of the accelerator.
The object is achieved by a binder for binding mortar, containing anhydrite and a low content of iron (II) sulfate, which according to the invention is characterized by a proportion of an inorganic or organic agent reducing trivalent iron.
It has been found that when air comes into the processed mortar, the iron (II) sulfate is converted to the less effective iron (III) sulfate through oxidation, which slows down the setting process.
In the case of the binder according to the invention, the duration of the setting process is shortened so that the reaction of the anhydrite with water takes place completely; can.
The reducing agent ensures that the trivalent iron that is produced is immediately reduced to bivalent iron, so that bivalent iron is always present during the setting process. The. Setting is complete before the processed mortar can normally dry out.
Since there is no longer any hardenable anhydrite in the mortar, later moistening of the dried out mortar does not cause any further setting process and consequently no increase in volume. The above-mentioned deficiencies are thus avoided.
The following are preferably used as reducing agents: salts of sulphurous acid, such as Sodium sulfite, sodium bisulfite, but also lignosulfonic acid calcium (an essential component of sulfite waste liquor), as well as copper-I chloride,
Tin-II-chloride and also aminophenol. The reducing agent is either added to the hydrite or iron (II) sulfate or a mixture of these two substances. The reducing agent can also be added to the mixed mortar.
In the following example 1 is a known anhydrite mixture without reducing agents and in examples 2 to 5 anhydrite mixtures with reducing agents are given.
To determine the critical points of the setting process: The following test arrangement was made: Prisms measuring 4 x 4 x 16 cm were made from the mixed mixtures of anhydrite with accelerator. After 24 hours or after 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 days, changes in length were measured on the still moist prisms. Furthermore, prisms were dried after 2 and 7 days and their flexural, tensile and compressive strength was determined.
<I> Example 1 </I> 1.8% iron (II) sulfate accelerator is added to a mixture of one part anhydrite and 3 parts standard sand. The mixture is stirred with water in a manner known per se.
<I> Example 2 </I> A mixture according to Example 1 is added with 0.25 1110 sulfite waste liquor as a reducing agent. <I> Example 3 </I> 0.15% sodium bisulfite is added as a reducing agent to a mixture according to Example 1. <I> Example 4 </I> 0.2% tin (II) chloride is added as a reducing agent to a mixture according to Example 1.

The table shows that a prism which is manufactured from a mixture according to Example 1 expands by 0.07 mm after the 7th day, ie. H. that a mixture of this kind expands with a possible drying out after the 7th day and a re-moisturizing and shows the abovementioned defects.
If, on the other hand, a reducing agent is used, which is listed in Examples 2, 3 and 4, the expansion of the prism stops as if. the table can be seen after the 7th day. So if such a body dries up after the 7th day and if it is moistened again, it no longer shows any expansion. The above-mentioned defects are thus avoided.
The table also shows, surprisingly, that the flexural tensile strength and compressive strength of the compositions according to Examples 2-4 are considerably greater than that of Example 1.
So the mortar with reducing agent has. two advantages: 1. the expansion stops after the 7th day of setting the mortar and 2. the strength is greater than that of the known mortar.
The attached drawing shows graphically the expansion of prisms according to Examples 1 to 4 as a function of time.
<I> Example 5 </I> Standard test specimens (DIN 4208) made of anhydrite and standard sand were tested in accordance with standard storage. The same amounts of iron (II) sulfate were used as accelerator in all samples, with mixture 2 adding 0.2 1 / o tin (II) chloride as the reducing agent and mixture 3 adding 0.25 ()
/ o received calcium lignosulfonic acid as a reducing agent. The strengths of the bodies with the reducing agents are in any case considerably higher than the strengths of the bodies of mixture 1 without reducing agents:

<SEP> Ca <SEP> 41 <SEP> 202 <SEP> 1137 The reducing effect of lignosulfonic acid calcium is that it contains splittable sulfurous acid, which is a known reducing agent and, as can be demonstrated in an experiment, reduces from trivalent iron to divalent iron.
The reaction takes place in the following stages: The iron (II) sulphate hydrolyses in an aqueous solution: FeS04 + H20 Fe0 + H @ S04 The sulfuric acid produced reacts with the calcium sulphite of the lignin that can be split off:
CaS03 + H2S04 = CaS04 + H20 + <B> SO, </B> The released sulfur dioxide now reduces the iron (III) sulfate that may be present and is itself oxidized to sulfuric acid:
Fe2 (SO4) 3 + 2 H20 + SO2 = 2 FeS04 + 2 H2S04 The Fe0 produced by hydrolysis is returned to the FeS04 by the excess sulfuric acid formed. In summary, the following reaction occurs:
Fe2 (S04) 3 + CaS03 + H, 0 = 2 FeS04 + CaS04 + H2S.O4 aminophenol has about the same effect as the above; Reducing agent.
