vient en contact -avec 1e cliquet 14 et exerce sur lui une, poussée qui a pour effet .de faire pivoter le levier transversal 9 et le levier 4 dans le ,sens de la flèche 28; contre d'action du Tes- sort 11;
Device for opening safety locks The object of the present invention is a device for opening safety locks having a bolt, the locking of which is ensured by movable pins subjected to the action of push springs and each composed of two halves. super-posed pins,
characterized in that it comprises at least one elongated and rigid rod, intended to be inserted into the cylinder of the lock and capable of being abruptly moved .transversalement,
means being provided for actuating said rod. The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view thereof in FIG. 2 is a section showing the device in the operating position in a safety lock.
The device shown comprises a housing 1 formed by two metal plates 2 placed facing each other and shaped so as to have the general shape of a gun.
Between the plates 2 is fixed a pin 3 -on which is pivotally mounted one of the ends of a lever 4 on which is screwed, in extension of said end, a metal rod 5. Elongated and rigid, extending on the outside of the housing 1. Near the axis is fixed a -tenon 6 serving to limit the travel of the lever 4.
The free end of the latter is, on the one hand, extended by an arm 7 having at its end a thread 8 serving for the possible fixing of the diaper 5 and, on the other hand,
welded to a transverse lever 9 extending inside the housing 1 and the lower end of which carries a heel 10 to which is fixed a tension spring 11 attached on the other hand to a tenon 12 fixed in the housing 1.
The transverse lever 9 is hollowed out so as to form a housing 13 in which a pawl 14 is pivotally mounted on an axis 15.
The pawl 14 rests on the heel 1.0 against which it is held by a fixed spring 16, on the one hand; on a: lug 17 welded to the pawl 14 and, on the other hand, to a tenon 18 arranged in the housing 1.
The pawl 14: is actuated by a spout 19 mounted rotatvement on a shaft 20 and having an operating lever 2.1, extending out of the housing 1.
Under the spout 19- is welded a-ring 22 in which is engaged one of the @ ends of a return spring 23, the other end of which is connected to a finger 24 welded into the housing 1.
Above the spout 19, a strip 25 is welded into the housing 1 and limits the -displacement: of said spout 19, and consequently of the lever 21.
The device shown operates as follows When moving the operating lever 21 in the end of the arrow 26, the spout 19 @pivo! Te in the direction of the arrow 27,
comes into contact with the pawl 14 and exerts on it a thrust which has the effect of rotating the transverse lever 9 and the lever 4 in the direction of arrow 28; against action of Test 11;
the rod 5 pivoting in the direction of the arrow 29. Continuing to move the operating lever 21 in the direction of the arrow 26, the spout 19 pivots until it releases the pawl 14. moment,
the transverse lever 9 and the lever 4 are suddenly returned by the spring 11 and pivot in the opposite direction of the arrow 28, - the rod 5 moving violently in the opposite direction of the arrow 29.
The sudden movement of the rod 5 and the levers 4 and 11 is stopped by the pin 6. It is then sufficient to release the lever of:
maneuver 21 which is returned by the spring 23 and resumes its original position after the spout 19 has tilted the pawl 14 against the action of the spring 16. When the spout 19 has passed the pawl 14, the latter pivots under the action of the spring 16 and resumes support against the heel 10. The device is thus ready to give an impulse to the rod 5.
When it comes to opening a safety lock 30, fig. 2, presenting -a barrel 31, the locking of which is ensured by movable pins subjected to the action of push springs 32:
and each composed of two superimposed half-pins 33 and 34, it suffices to introduce the rod 5 into the barrel 31 and to actuate the operating lever 21 to give an impulse to the rod 5, which produces a impact on the lower half-pins 33.
These being in contact with the upper half-pins 34, the shock is transmitted to the latter which move against the action of the push springs 32.
As this shock takes place simultaneously on all the lower half-pins 33, the upper half-pins 34 all move at the same time and, for a short time, the barrel 31 is released. It is then sufficient to turn it, for example by means of a flat metal melle,
so that the upper half-pins 34 can no longer be pushed back by the springs 32 into the housings of the barrel 31. It then only remains to make the barrel 31 perform a complete rotation to open the lock. If the operation is not successful the first time,
it suffices to actuate the operating lever 21 again to give one or more other shocks to the lower half-pins 33.
The device described is particularly suitable for locksmiths and bodybuilders as well as for breakdown services for users who have lost their keys. The same is true for the security services such as the police or the fire brigade which thus have a rapid means of opening the locks without it being necessary to break down the doors.
Just in case. the lock 30 would be found in the turn born from 1800 and that the shock to be given to the half-pins 33 must be: directed from top to bottom, it suffices to lift the rod 5 of the lever 4 and screw it on the arm 7. You can then operate without having to reverse the box 1.
A device is provided comprising two rods 5 respectively fixed on the lever 4 and on the arm 7.
In order to adapt the device to the various conditions which may arise, it is planned to adjust the stroke of the rod 5 by mounting the tenon 6 on an eccentric which can be operated from outside the housing or by placing it under the arm 7 a tenon mounted on an eccentric which can also be operated from outside the housing 1.
Provision is made to adjust the force of the impulse given to the half-pins by da rod 5 by acting on the tension of the spring 11, said tension being able to be modified by mounting the tenon 12 on an eccentric man # uvrable from the exterior of housing 1.
Provision is made for electrically controlling the movement of the rod 5, for example by means of an electromagnet.
It is also planned to actuate = the rod 5 by means of a compressed air control.
