Description

Dish washing machine For hotels and larger kitchen operations, dish washing machines are used with continuous movement of a conveyor belt carrying dishes, with the dishes passing through a washing zone and a subsequent rinsing zone. While most of the detergent in the washing zone continues to be used, the rinsing water has to be renewed again and again. Therefore, a large amount of water is consumed with the flushing process and, because of the heating, also a correspondingly high consumption of electricity. In addition, there may be additives in the form of gloss drying agents and the like.

This disadvantage is particularly evident when the machine is not being used to the full because only small items of dishes are passing through.

The invention avoids the disadvantages mentioned in that the flushing water is switched on and off automatically by means of a photocell control.

A light generator is expediently arranged at the beginning of the final-rinse zone and throws a light beam across the conveyor belt onto a photocell.

The arrangement can be made so that the flushing water is switched off with a certain adjustable delay.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. They show: FIG. 1 a diagrammatic representation of the arrangement, FIG. 2 a block diagram of the photocell control.

The conveyor belt 1 is formed out as an endless belt and moves forward continuously with the crockery 2 thereon, the latter going through a washing zone 3 and then a washing zone 4. The rinsing water flows from the line 5 through the regulating valve 6 into the line 7 and, when the valve is open, sprays from the spray nozzles 8 onto the dishes passing through.

At the beginning of the rinsing zone 4, a light generator 9 is arranged, which constantly throws a light beam 10 across the conveyor belt 1 onto the photocell 11 opposite. As soon as the light beam 10 is interrupted by dishes 2, the photocell 11 sends a pulse to an amplifier 12, which in turn opens the regulating valve 6. The amplifier 12 is fed by the power source 13 and supplies the voltage for the light source of the light transmitter 9. The valve 6 is switched off automatically with a certain delay, so that the individual pieces of crockery are reliably detected by the wash water over a certain distance.
