Process for the production of lost models
In the production of lost wax models for the precision process in molds made of rubber-elastic material in the so-called lost wax casting process, it is important that the lost material z. B. Wax fills the smallest parts of the cavity in the mold. To achieve this, attempts have already been made to put the liquid looping material under high pressure. However, the pressure required for this is usually so high that the mold is slightly deformed in the joint between the mold halves, so that the casting has extremely undesirable burrs.
It is also known, when pouring metal into rigid molds, to use evacuated molds to accelerate the introduction of the liquid metal.
The present invention now avoids casting burrs in that the molten part material is sucked into an evacuated mold. As a result, the liquid wax can penetrate the finest details of the mold at low pressure without deforming the mold in the joint.
The method according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, which shows, partially in section, a device for performing the method.
A container 1 containing molten wax under pressure is surrounded by a jacket 2 made of heat-insulating material and has a drain for the wax at the lowest point of the bottom, which is closed by a valve body 4. This has a hollow shaft, on the free end part of which a nozzle 5 is placed, and is under the influence of a helical compression spring 4 surrounding the shaft. This engages the nozzle 5 and is on the other hand supported on the valve seat carrier. It has a tendency to hold the valve body 3 in a force-fitting manner on the valve seat. The nozzle 5 is conical at the free end on the outside.
This cone fits into the correspondingly conical inlet channel of the rubber mold 6, which, when pressed against the nozzle 5, engages tightly with the nozzle 5 and, when pressed harder, causes the valve body 3 to be pushed in and thus the valve to open. The opening stroke of the valve body is limited by a flange 7 seated on the nozzle, which here comes to rest on the lower end of the outlet connection 8 of the container 1.
The connector 8 is also designed as an axial guide for the cylindrical nozzle 5. This is provided with a two-way valve 9 which, in the setting position shown in the drawing, connects the lower part of the wax outlet channel to a pipe 12 into which a filter 11 is connected.
The other end of the line 12 is connected to a vacuum pump 10 with a solenoid valve 13 interposed. The electromagnet is in a circuit having a switch 14. The switch can be operated by means of a pivotable lever which protrudes into the path of movement of the mold 6 and closes the circuit when the mold 6 is pressed against the nozzle 5. This opens the solenoid valve 13 and, if necessary, the vacuum pump 10 is switched on. At the same time, the nozzle 5 is inserted until the flange 7 rests on the nozzle 8 and thereby opens the bottom valve 3 ge. The outlet channel filled with molten wax, however, remains closed by the valve 9, while the mold 6 is evacuated through the line 12.
Then, by turning the two-way valve clockwise by 900, the mold 6 is switched off from the line 12 and connected to the wax pot. The mold 6 is soaked with wax and then pulled off the nozzle 5. This releases the switch 14 and opens the circuit. The solenoid valve 13 and thus the vacuum line are closed, as is the bottom valve 3.
The device is now made ready for the next operation in that the two-way valve 9 is turned back into the starting position according to the drawing, in which the duct section below is connected to the line 12 again. This is still under vacuum pressure and sucks the amount of wax located in the mentioned channel part into the filter 11 through the remaining negative pressure. The device is clear for the next operation.
