Process for the preparation of organic dyes The so-called reactive dyes based on monohalotriazine are characterized above all by the great possibility of variation of the substituents bound to the triazine nucleus in addition to the halogen atom. By suitable choice of this substituent, attempts have been made to determine the properties of the dyes, in particular their solubility,
to influence in the desired sense. So it is e.g. B. be known to produce Monochl'ortriazine dyes that have a carboxy or sulfophenylamino group. The use of N-alkylanilines in place of I'henylamines has also already been proposed.
It has now been found that the use of N-alkylaminobenzenesulfonic or carboxylic acids leads to very special valuable new monohalotriazine dyes which, in addition to improved water solubility, have excellent stability of the printing pastes they contain.
Thanks to the possibility of condensing N-alkylaminobenzenesulfonic acids in second place with cyanuric chloride, these new dyes are also more easily accessible than many of the previously known, unalkylated sulfophenylamino groups-containing triazine dyes, and they show a higher reactivity than the dyes with an unsulfated N -Alkyl-N-arylamino group.
The present invention relates to a process for the production of new, valuable, water-soluble, organic dyes, which is characterized in that a primary condensation product from a trihalotriazine, in particular cyanuric chloride, and an organic water-soluble dye which is acylatable Has an amino group,
condensed with an N-alkylaminobenzenesulfonic or carboxylic acid in such a way that a secondary condensation product is formed which contains a halogen atom in the triazine nucleus.
The primary condensation product used is in particular one of a trihalotriazine and a water-soluble organic dye which, in addition to at least two water-solubilizing groups, also contains an acylatable amino group of the formula -NH-Cn-1H2n-, where n is an integer. The second reaction component is used, for. B. N-methylaminobenzene-3- or -4-sulfonic acid or
their mixtures.
The dyes prepared according to the invention can except at least one water-solubilizing group, that is, z. B. one or more sulfamide, sulfonic acid or carboxyl groups, also further, in particular not water-solubilizing substituents, such as halogen atoms, cyano, nitro, acylamino, alkyl or alkoxy groups.
The water-solubilizing groups and the triazine nucleus of the specified type can be distributed as desired in the dye molecule, that is to say one group of each of the two types can be present in the remainder of a single component or a dye component can e.g. B. solubilizing groups and another contain the triazine nucleus.
As suitable for the present process N-alkylaminobenzene sulfonic or carboxylic acids are especially the simplest mentioned, such as those having 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, z.
B. N-ethyl and especially N-methylamino benzenecarboxylic acid or sulfonic acid, especially m- and p-sulfonic acid and mixtures thereof, and also N-alkylanthranilic acids and N-isopropylanilinesulfonic acids.
As a water-soluble amino group-containing organic cal dyes that are used in the production of the primary. Condensation products can be used. Dyes of the most varied classes into consideration, e.g.
B. stilbene dyes containing amino groups, substances, azine dyes, dioxazine dyes, nanthone and thioxanthone dyes, but above all acid phthalocyanine dyes containing amino groups, acid anthrachinone dyes and in particular azo dyes,

The inventive condensation of the reaction products of cyanuric chloride and those dyes containing an acylatable amino group with the amino acids is expediently carried out in the presence of acid-binding agents, such as sodium acetate or carbonate, and under conditions such that the finished product still has an exchangeable one Halogen atom remains, that is z. B. in. Organic solvents or at relatively low temperatures in aqueous media.
The dyes prepared according to the invention can be isolated and processed into useful, dry dyeing preparations without losing their valuable properties. Isolation is preferably carried out at the lowest possible temperatures by viewing and filtering. In certain cases, directly dry preparations can be obtained by evaporation or spray drying of the entire mixture, that is to say without intermediate isolation of the dyes :; produce.
The new dyes are suitable for dyeing by the direct dyeing method with the addition of alkali, by the so-called pad dyeing process and for printing a wide variety of materials, in particular cellulosic materials with a fibrous structure, such as linen, cellulose, regenerated cellulose and especially cotton.
They are particularly suitable for dyeing by what is known as the pad dyeing process, according to which the goods are impregnated with aqueous, possibly high-salt dye solutions and the dyes are fixed by alkali treatment, preferably with heat.
In order to improve the wet fastness properties, it is advisable to rinse the dyeings and prints obtainable with the dyes obtained according to the invention thoroughly with cold and warm water, optionally with the addition of a dispersing agent. and subject the diffusion promoting agent.
The dyeings that can be obtained on fibers containing cellulose with the new dye preparations are generally characterized by the purity of their shades, good lightfastness and, above all, excellent washfastness.
The new dyes are also suitable for dyeing and printing nitrogen-containing textile materials such as leather, silk and especially wool, as well as superpolyamide or super polyurethane fibers from weakly alkaline, neutral or acidic baths, e.g. B. from acetic acid bath.
In the following examples, unless otherwise stated, the parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 42.2 parts of the aminoazo dye obtained by coupling. of diazotized 5-acetylamino-l-aminobenzene-2-sulfonic acid with 1- (2 ', 5'-dichlorophenyl) -3 methyl-5-pyrazolone-4'-sulfonic acid and subsequent cleavage of the acetyl group it is obtained in aqueous solution in condensed in a known manner with 18.5 parts of cyanuric chloride.
To obtain dichlorotriazine derivative, a solution of 20.1 parts of N-ethylaniline-4-sulfonic acid is added and the mixture is treated for 2 hours at 30, the reaction being kept neutral by adding a dilute sodium hydroxide solution dropwise. The resulting monochlorotriazine dye is precipitated by saturating the solution with potassium chloride, filtered off and dried. He dyes cotton in green, yellow tones.
To obtain the dye, the solution can be evaporated to dryness in vacuo.
In the same way, dyes which dye cotton in the shades listed in column III of the table below are obtained if cyanuric chloride is first condensed with the aminoazo dyes indicated in column I and then with the N-alkylaminobenzenesulfonic or carboxylic acids indicated in column II .

A solution of 18.5 parts of cyanuric chloride in 100 parts of acetone is then added and the mixture is stirred for one hour at 5, the reaction being kept neutral by adding a dilute sodium hydroxide solution.
The reaction mixture is then mixed with an aqueous solution of 18.7 parts of N-methylaniline-3-sulfonic acid and warmed to 30. The solution is neutralized with a dilute solution of sodium carbonate. The monoehlortriazine dye formed is then salted out, filtered off and dried.
It is very soluble in water and dyes cotton in greenish blue tones. The printing pastes made with the dye are stable for several weeks.
Dyeing instructions: 2 parts of the dye obtained in Example 1 are dissolved in 100 parts of water.
A cotton fabric is impregnated with this solution on the padder and the excess liquid is squeezed off so that the fabric 75% of its weight. retains dye solution.

It is then rinsed, soaped for a quarter of an hour in a 0.3% solution of an ion-free detergent at boiling temperature, rinsed and dried.
The result is a color that is fixed in a boil-proof manner. Use one instead of a cotton fabric. Cellulose tissue, a similarly good result is obtained.
Similar results are obtained if the goods impregnated with the dye solution are impregnated in a solution which contains 30 g of sodium carbonate and 300 g of sodium chloride per liter.
