Process for the production of real dyeings or prints on cellulose textile materials with copper phthalocyanine dyes It is known that: cellulose materials with phthalocyanine dyes containing quaternary ammonium, tertiary sulfonium or isothiuronium groups can be colored and printed,
by applying the dyes to the gelulose material from aqueous solution in the presence of a weak acid and an alkali salt of a weak acid and then fixing them by steaming or heating (British patent specification No. 633 160)
It has now been found that real dyeings or prints can be produced on cellulose textile materials by using water-soluble phthalocyanine dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0019
where R1, R2 and R3 are identical or different lower alkyl or hydroxyalkyl groups, Xe is the anion of an inorganic or organic acid, Pc is a phthalocyanine radical and n is a number from 2 to 4,
pads or prints on the textile material and then fixed on the fiber with a reducing agent in the presence of an alkaline agent at elevated temperature.
The use of a reducing agent when fixing under alkaline conditions surprisingly results in a very strong increase in the dye yield on the fiber compared to dyeings in which the dye was fixed with alkali alone. Apparently, the presence of the reducing agent leads to faster cleavage and stronger fixation of the dye on the fiber.
Examples of the reducing agents used according to the invention are sodium hydrosulfite and the sodium salt of hydroxymethanesulfinic acid.
The in the process of the present inven tion used: copper phthalocyanine dyes can be prepared, for example, by reacting chloro- or bromomethylated copper phthalocyanines with tertiary amines or by reacting a copper phthalocyanine,
which contains tertiary amino groups bonded to the benzene nuclei via methylene groups, reacts with an alkylene oxide and neutralizes the quaternary dye gmmonium hydroxide compound obtained with an acid.
As a rule, the phth-alocyanine dyes containing quaternary ammonium groups are fixed in accordance with the process of the present invention in such a way that the dyeings or prints produced with the dyes are treated with a reducing agent in the presence of an alkaline agent.
Real dyeings with high color strength can be produced, for example, using the two-bath Klotz-Jigger process, in which the dyes are padded onto the fiber and, after the fiber material has dried on the jigger, developed in a liquor that contains sodium hydroxide, sodium sulfate and sodium hydrosulfite .
Strongly colored prints with good fastness properties can be produced, for example, by the two-phase printing process by printing the fiber material with a printing paste containing the dyes used for the application, and the getrock designated prints with a solution containing a reducing agent and an alkaline agent puddles or splashes and then dampens.
The phthalocyanine dyes used according to the invention can also be used as a mixture with vat dyes or other dyes suitable for the two-phase printing process.
For example, when mixed with yellow dyes, green shades of great clarity and very good fastness properties are obtained. In the data in the following examples, parts by weight are related to parts by volume as g to ml.
<I> Example 1 </I> 50 parts by weight of a 20% dough of indanthrene yellow 6 GD (Color Index, Second Edition 1956, No. <B> 56 </B> 080) are mixed with a solution of 30 parts by weight of the by reacting copper trn (chloromethyl) phthalocyanine with methyl di (oxethyl)
-amine available dye and & 0 parts by weight of urea mixed in 240 parts by weight of hot water. Then you add 600 parts by weight of a 10% tragacanth thickening. The printing ink is printed on cotton fabric as usual and the print is dried,
whereupon the goods are padded on the foulard with a padding liquor containing 70 parts by weight of sodium hydrosulfite, 100 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution 38 B, 6 and 50 parts by weight of anhydrous sodium carbonate in 1000 parts by volume of liquor. It is then steamed on a rapid steaming system at 110 to 112 C for 20 seconds.
Then the goods are rinsed, oxidized as usual for vat dyes and mixed with a solution of 1 part by weight of an ionic or nonionic synthetic detergent in 1000 parts by weight of water, after-treated at the boil, rinsed and dried. A clear green print with very good fastness properties is obtained.
The same results are obtained if, instead of sodium hydrosulfite, 60 parts by weight of the sodium salt of hydroxymethanesulfinic acid stabilized with acetaldehyde and an organic amine are used in the abovementioned padding liquor and steamed for about 30 to 40 seconds.
<I> Example 2 </I> Instead of the padding liquor specified in Example 1, a liquor is used which, in 1000 parts by weight of solution, contains 100 parts by weight of the sodium salt of hydroxymethanesulfinic acid, 700 parts by weight of water, -50 parts by weight of potassium carbonate,
Contains 50 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution 38 B6 and 100 parts by weight of water, steaming for about 5 to 8 minutes immediately after padding and finishing in the manner described. <I> Example 3 </I> 20 parts by weight of the dye obtained from copper tri- (chloromethyl) phthalocyanine by reaction with trimethylamine are dissolved with 80 parts by weight of urea in 250 parts by weight of hot water.
Then you add a starch-tragacanth thickener and adjust to 1000 parts by weight with water or thickener. After printing on cotton fabric, the goods are dried and padded, steamed and finished as indicated in Example 1 to fix the dye. The oxidation process can also be omitted.
A very vivid turquoise-blue print with very good light and wet fastness properties is obtained.
<I> Example 4 </I> 25 parts by weight of the dye described in Example 3 are dissolved in 1000 parts by weight of water with the addition of 20 parts by weight of 30% acetic acid and with a squeezing effect of about 80% padded bleached mercerized cotton fabric.
After drying at 80 ° C., it is developed for 30 minutes on the figger at 90 ° C. in a liquor which contains 10 parts by volume of sodium hydroxide solution 38 B6, 50 parts by weight of sodium sulfate and 5 parts by weight of sodium hydrosulfite in 1000 parts by weight of water.
After rinsing and soaking, a clear turquoise-blue dyeing with very good fastness properties is obtained, the color shade around. is several times deeper than that of a color produced in the absence of the reducing agent under otherwise identical conditions.
