Figuren 1 bis 9 im Vertikalschnitt schematisch verschiedene Ausgestaltungen des erfindungsmässigen Stopfens;
Figur 10 eine perspektivische Ansicht eines erfindungsgemässen Gummistopfens und der dazugehörigen Silikonkautschukkappe;
Container closure
The present invention relates to a container closure, in particular for the pharmaceutical industry. The aim of the invention is to create a stopper which, in particular, meets the requirements for blood products from a medical point of view, creates a reliably tight seal, chemical and similar. cannot be mechanically attacked by the liquids and can nevertheless be produced at low cost.
Accordingly, the container closure according to the invention is characterized in that a stopper is provided with a silicone rubber coating at least on the surfaces which come into contact with the liquid contents when the container falls.
The term silicone rubber) should be understood to mean a plastic with rubber-like properties, such as a high-polymer polydimethylsiloxane with the following structural formula:
EMI1.1
The connection according to the invention of the stopper and the silicone-rubber cover ensures that a vacuum-tight seal is maintained even after longer periods of time, so that the containers can be under vacuum or under overpressure.
The silicone rubber coating, which can be approximately one millimeter thick, expediently surrounds the part of the stopper protruding into the bottle neck, i.e. H. it also extends to that part of the stopper which rests against the bottle neck or the container wall. This ensures that aggression of the plug laterally in the radial direction is also excluded in this part in the event of a possibly irregular design of the bottle neck.
According to an expedient embodiment of the invention, the silicone-rubber coating only extends over part of the total height of the stopper, so that part of the rubber stopper also comes into contact with the bottle neck. In this way, a particularly favorable airtight seal can be obtained.
The silicone rubber coating can be shrunk or vulcanized onto the stopper. Instead, however, it is also possible to design the silicone rubber coating in the form of a cup, which is slipped onto a rubber stopper by machine or by hand.
The production of the silicone rubber coatings takes place z. B. in such a way that the unvulcanized silicone rubber mass is given a certain shape by means of steel molds. Due to the small bridge connections, the mass is still soft in character and can assume any shape. After the mold is closed, the mass is heated, together with an activator, which greatly increases the number of bridges. The silicone rubber loses its liquid or paste-like character and becomes a solid substance that retains its own shape.
Further advantages and details of the invention emerge from the following description and the exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawing.
In the drawing show:
FIGS. 1 to 9 show, in vertical section, schematically different configurations of the stopper according to the invention;
FIG. 10 shows a perspective view of a rubber stopper according to the invention and the associated silicone rubber cap;
FIG. 11 shows a vertical section of a stopper according to the invention according to FIG. Figure 10 inserted into a bottle neck.
In the drawing, the reference number 1 denotes a stopper made of rubber and the reference number 2 denotes the cover made of silicone rubber.
According to FIG. 1, the cylindrical, laterally raised edges 21 of the cover 2 only encompass the lower part 11 of the stopper 1, which is reduced in diameter compared to the upper part 12 of the stopper 1 by approximately twice the thickness of the overfeed 2. Accordingly, the stopper rests against the bottle neck in the lower area with the chemically resistant edge 21 of the silicone coating 2 and in the upper area with the airtight part 12 of the rubber stopper 1. As FIG. 1 shows, the outside diameter of the part 12 corresponds essentially to the outside diameter of the edge 21.
According to FIG. 2, the edge 22 of the silicone rubber coating is drawn up to the upper, widened handle part 13 of the rubber stopper 1. Here, the handle part 13 rests with its lower annular surface 14 on the end face of the bottle neck.
The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3 is similar to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, with the difference that the edge 22 is drawn outward at its upper end in an annular flange 23 which rests against the annular surface 14 of the handle part 13.
Accordingly, in this embodiment only the coating made of silicone rubber comes into contact with the bottle neck.
4 shows an embodiment in which the rubber stopper 1 is equipped with blind holes 15. The cover 16 of these blind holes 15, which is expediently marked on the top of the handle part, can be pierced with a cannula or the like for the purpose of removing the liquid contents. In this exemplary embodiment, the silicone rubber coating is drawn into the blind holes 15 in the form of a sack 24.
According to FIG. 5, the edge of the rubber stopper 1 has corrugations 29. With appropriate corrugations on the edge of the stopper 1, these can produce good adhesion and sealing between the stopper 1 and the cover 2.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the rubber stopper 1 has a short blind hole 17 with a narrowed mouth, which is filled with silicone rubber compound 25, which is firmly connected to the cover 2 and thus holds the cover 2 firmly on the stopper 1 like a push button.
According to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 7, the flat rubber stopper 1 is equipped with an annular web 18 protruding downwards.
This is bridged by the silicone rubber cover 2.
FIG. 8 shows a rubber stopper 1 formed according to FIG. 7 with an annular web 18. Here, however, the silicone rubber coating rests completely on the annular web 18 also on the inner edge and the inner part 19 of the stopper 1 in the form of a sack 26.
According to FIG. 9, the stopper 1 has a disk-like design and is provided with the coating 2 on the edge and on the underside. The silicone rubber cover 2 has a hollow cylindrical extension 27 on the underside, which protrudes down into the bottle neck 3 and when piercing the rubber disk 1 marked above can lead the tube introduced for the purpose of removing the liquid. The extension 27 also offers the possibility of introducing a glass tube that serves as a riser pipe for the air.
This ensures that air bubbles cannot come into contact with the liquid.
FIGS. 10 and 11 show in detail a preferred exemplary embodiment of the invention, which is shown schematically in FIG. As shown in particular in FIG. 10, the cover 2 consists of a cap made of silicone rubber which can be clamped onto the lower part 11 of the rubber stopper 1. For the purpose of better support, the lower part 11 is provided with an annular groove 4 z. B. triangular cross-section, in which a correspondingly shaped inner bead 28 of the cover 2 engages.
The lower part 11 of the rubber stopper also has an inwardly beveled annular surface 5 at the step transition to part 12, onto which the essentially cylindrical edge 6 of the cap is pressed when the stopper is inserted into the container neck and thus a further safeguard against falling off Cap from the rubber stopper forms (Fig. 11).
