Es sind aus einem Papierband gebildete Traggriffe bzw. Bandhenkel für Tragtaschen bekannt, welche jedoch auch dann, wenn für deren Herstellung zähes und langfaseriges Papier verwendet wird, den Nachteil haben, dass das Papierband, z. B. an den Ecken bzw. den Seitenrändern des Traggriffes bzw. Bandhenkels, beim Tragen grosser Lasten oder bei unregelmässiger Füllung der Tragtasche einreisst und dann entzweigerissen wird.

In Fig. 1 bezeichnet 1 eine Tragtasche mit angeklebten Traggriffen 2. Diese Traggriffe 2 bestehen aus einem Papierband, dessen Seitenränder eingefalzt sind, wie aus Fig. 2 ersichtlich ist. In diese eingefalzten Seitenränder ist je ein Zwirnfaden 3 eingezogen und mit dem eingefalzten Papierband verklebt. Diese Zwirnfäden werden vorteilhaft bei dem Einfalzen des kontinuierlichen Papierbandes in die Maschine eingeführt und mit dem Papierband verklebt. Der Zwirnfaden wird vorteilhaft vor dem Einführen zwecks besserer Haftung in einem Klebstoff getränkt oder durch ein Klebstoffbad gezogen. Er wird daher möglichst allseitig mit dem Papierband verklebt und bildet eine Einheit mit demselben, so dass das erhaltene Verbundmaterial eine gewünschte hohe Festigkeit erreicht.
