Plastic handle The invention relates to a plastic handle with a central hole for plugging on hand tools, cranks, operating levers and brackets of portable containers. Such known handles are provided with such a central bore that there is a press fit between the wall of this and the pressed or -ge hit end of the object to be equipped.
A disadvantage of this construction is that the bore is often very small compared to the size of the handle and therefore a lot of, sometimes unnecessary, material is required. Accordingly, long cooling times are required after pressing or injection molding. The material of the handle must have good mechanical properties. A handle of a tool has to withstand a light impact from a hammer. It also has to be so hard that no file or wood shavings can be pressed into the handle.
In addition, especially when using the screwdriver handle, there must be a sufficiently large insulation value in order to be able to use the tool on live parts. These requirements result in a relatively high material price. In addition, the elasticity of such a material is relatively low, so that the ent speaking end of the object to be equipped must be warmed before it is hammered into the handle bore in order to achieve sufficient mutual attachment.
These disadvantages are eliminated by the invention. They consist in the fact that the central bore is enlarged over the object to be inserted into this essential Lich and that a sleeve fastened by a press fit is inserted into the bore, the inner diameter of which is matched to the inserted part of the object to be equipped with the handle.
It only consumes as much material as is required for the required strength of the handle.
In the drawing, various embodiments are shown according to the invention. 1 shows a first embodiment of a handle in partial longitudinal section; , Fig. 4 shows a portable,
with the handle of FIG. 3 equipped container.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the handle 1 is provided with the conical bore 1a that tapers towards the rear. This is larger than the rear part 2a of the tool, which is to be inserted into the handle, in this case the file 2, ie. H. Dimensioned in diameter and length so that the jacket of the handle 1 still has sufficient strength.
A plastic sleeve 3, which is also conical on the outside and inside, is inserted by a press fit into the front part of the bore 1 a. In the area of the annular edge 3 a, the plastic sleeve 3 has the same diameter as the front extended part of the handle 1.
A jacket cap 4, which is further pushed on and has a central bore 4a, encompasses both the edge 3a of the plastic sleeve 3 and the extended area of the handle 1 in front of it.
Part 2a of the tool is hammered into the conical and rearwardly tapering bore 3b, whereby a perfect fit of the tool in the plastic sleeve 3 and between the plastic sleeve 3 and the handle 1 is guaranteed. The handle 1 is made of high-quality material so that it has sufficient flexural and compressive strength (e.g.
B. against hammer blows) guaranteed and no tool shavings can press outside into the jacket. When used for screwdrivers, it also has a high insulation value and a durable smooth surface. The plastic sleeve 3, however, can be made of minderwer term material, which should have a higher elasticity than the material of the handle aufwei sen.
The advantages are that, despite the hard material of the handle, the tool has an excellent fit due to the softer material of the insert sleeve, even if it is hit in the sleeve without having been previously heated. In addition, the fact that the bore 1a is very large and the handle is sleeve-shaped over its entire length and has a relatively thin jacket saves a great deal of expensive material.
The handle 5 according to FIG. 3 is intended in particular for a portable container 8 (FIG. 4) and is accordingly penetrated by a handle or bracket 7 over its entire length. For this reason, the bore 5a continues at its rear end into a handle completely reduced in diameter by penetrating bore 5b. At the front end, a plastic sleeve 6 is inserted into the conical drill bit 5a by a press fit.
The inside diameter of the plastic sleeve 6 and the diameter of the bore 5b are selected so that the handle is supported loosely rotatably on the handle or bracket 7. The advantage of this type of execution is also a substantial saving of molding compound, since the handle 5 without the inserted molded material sleeve 6 could previously only be pressed with a very thin through hole.
