Fig. 2 einen Aufriss der Ständers darstellt.
Stand for cable rolls or calf drums
This invention relates to a stand for cable drums or cable reels and is a further development of the stand according to the claim of the main patent.
In the cited patent specification, a stand for cable reels or cable drums was discussed, which has two structural halves, each with a stub axle, each structural half having means to move the stub axle towards and away from the drum, as well as for relative vertical movement between the drum or Roller and the stub axle, and also means that provide limited relative movement between the cable drum and stub axle at right angles to said movements.
The design of the stand according to the patent mentioned was satisfactory, but the effort and time required to align the stub axles with the central bore of the drum was considerable.
It is also desirable to be able to straighten the drum, which is placed between the two components, more easily transversely and longitudinally. This work is preferably done when the stub axles have raised the drum and so that the weight of the drum can be used to align the stub axles with one another.
The invention will now be described using an exemplary embodiment, the drawing of which is in the
Figure 1 shows a side elevation of a stand for a cable drum or reel and its
Figure 2 is an elevation of the stand.
1 and 2 show a drum 1 in dashed lines in the position between two identical lifting jacks 2 and 3 (structural halves) which run on the rails 4 and 5 of a steel portal 6 (carrier).
Each lifting jack 2 and 3 has a stub axle 7 in a head 8 which is movable in a sliding frame 9 which can swing. The slide frame 9 is rotatably suspended from a carriage 10.
The sliding frame 9 has a box-shaped cross section with a slot 11 and flanges 12.
The head 8 has the flanges 13 and 14 which slide over the flanges 12. On top of the head 8 there is a swivel connection of the same with the rod of a piston in the cylinder 15. The cylinder 15 is fastened by means of a rotatable connection to the rod of a piston in a cylinder 16, while the latter cylinder is attached to the slide frame 9 by a further rotatable connection is mounted.
It should be noted that the right slide frame 9 Fig. 1 is partially broken away to show details.
The carriage 10 has grooved rollers 17 which run on the rails 4 and 5. A cylinder is pivotally connected to the carrier 18 on the carriage 10. A piston rod of the cylinder 19 is rotatably attached to the carrier 20 on the steel portal 6.
A lever 21 is rotatably mounted on the slide frame 9 by means of supports 22. The lever 21 has a roller 23 which is able to move along the groove 24 in the ground. The slide frame 9 has two flanges 25 at its lower end and a cylinder 26 is rotatably attached thereto. The rod 27 of a piston in the cylinder 26 is rotatably connected to the lever 21.
When a roll is to be placed on the stand, the roll 1 is brought approximately into the correct position between the two jacks 2 and 3.
Oil flows under pressure into the cylinders 15 in order to lift the heads 8 along the slots 11 in the sliding frame 9 until the stub axles 7 are at the same height as the center bore on the drum 1.
Now pressurized oil flows into the cylinders 26 to cause the lever 21 to move clockwise (Fig. 2) against the wall of the groove 24, whereby the slide frame 9 is forced to move counterclockwise about the pivot point in the carriage 10 transversely to move the axial direction of the stumps 7. The sliding frames 9 are thus inclined until the stub axles 7 are aligned with the center opening of the drum 1. Then the parts 9 are brought closer to one another by means 10, 18-20 in order to insert the pins 7 into the drum.
Finally, pressurized oil is let into the cylinders 16 to raise the stub axles 7 so that the drum 1 is raised.
Each drum only needs to be raised about 50 mm. Although it is not absolutely necessary to let the oil into the two cylinders 16 at the same time, this is desirable and two solenoid operated valves in the oil supply to the cylinders 16 are used for this purpose.
The sliding frames 9 are set up to swing into the vertical position when a drum 1 is raised by the stub axles 7. This process can be carried out through oil flow control valves to the cylinder 26, so that the sliding frames 9 pivot into the vertical position under the influence of the drum weight.
The cylinder 26 can hold the slide frames permanently in the vertical position.
When it is necessary to dispense a drum 1 from the stand, oil under pressure is allowed to flow out of the cylinders 16, the rate of descent of the drum being regulated by outflow control valves.
When the drum 1 rests on the floor, the cylinders 19 on the piston side are put under oil pressure, whereby the stub axles are pulled out of the central bore.
While the stub axles 7 are being moved into or out of the central bore, the rollers 23 are expediently pulled out of the groove 24 in the ground.
The carts 10 can be operated by hand or by any known means, e.g. B. electromechanically or electrohydraulically, as shown.
It is clear that the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment described.
