Sheet metal connection The invention relates to a sheet metal connection, for the purpose of releasably connecting two adjacent sheet metal fields abutting one another with their straight edges.
1 of the drawing shows a section through a known detachable connection between two metal sheets a and b with the aid of a sheet metal strip c. Such impacts have the disadvantage that the connection and thus the two metal sheets have too little rigidity in relation to one another. The connection only serves to enlarge one sheet with another sheet without increasing the strength; on the contrary, the joint represents a weakening of the sheet. Each sheet a and b must be attached to a fourth part, a holder. With this connection no inherently rigid construction is possible.
The screwing or welding of two metal sheets for the purpose of connection can result in a rigid construction with a suitable shape of the joint, but welded connections are no longer detachable. The goal is a detachable connection that shows a certain inherent rigidity.
The detachable connection according to the invention of two sheets, which abut one another with their straight edges, is characterized in that the edges of the two sheets lie flat against one another and are jointly angled, the outer sheet edge protruding beyond the inner sheet edge and this protruding part is bent back in the direction of the first angle, so forming a second angle, further that at least one independent angle piece running parallel to the sheet metal edge is inserted under tension into the bent edges, each leg of the angle piece in one of the edges ge formed angle engages.
In the drawing, FIG. 2 shows in natural size a section through an embodiment of the sheet metal connection according to the invention.
The two sheets A and B lie in the same plane. Their edges are each bent in the right angle so that they lie flat against each other in part 1 to form the angle a together. The edge of the sheet A, which lies on the outside at the angle a , protrudes beyond the edge of the sheet B and is bent to the angle ss. The angle piece C is inserted from the side with its two legs reaching into angles a and ss. This angle piece C is angled at 90 at y and is under tension in the inserted state, which gives the entire connection strength.
The sheet A is shown with a dashed line, as it would be if the sheet metal connection is used for two perpendicularly abutting parts. The sheet metal connection described can be used at any angle between the sheet metal planes. It is important that part of the edges lie flat on top of one another. The connection is only possible if part of the joint is straight.
The contra-angle handpiece advantageously has a length of 10-15 cm. Such items are arranged at a distance of about 80 cm. The length of the individual elbows is preferably two to four times the angular development, that is to say the total length of the angle of the Win shown in the figure C. The elbows are pushed from the side into the bent edges. In order to solve the connection, the corner pieces can be pushed out.
The bias in the elbow C, which is advantageous for the stiffness of the connection Ver, is obtained by excess of the Win kelstückes compared to the effective measure between the bent edges. One leg of the elbow C is flat on part of the Ran of the sheet A.
In addition to the connection, the profiling of the sheet metal edges results in excellent transverse stabilization of the profile and centering of the sheets. The connection can be established with simple means. Since the dimensional accuracy is not too high, it is possible to process the sheets on normal sheet metal presses. The connection is not tied to any sheet thickness dimension.
The angles can also be processed by other processing than bending, z. B. Pulling the strings, get who the.
Between the abutting parts of the Rän can joint strips made of softer material, such. B. light metal or plastic are interposed. One leg of the elbow must be shortened accordingly.
