La fig. 1 en est une vue latérale en élévation;
Device for transporting materials
The present invention relates to a device for transporting materials comprising a container for said materials and a frame by which this device is capable of being placed on a transport vehicle, characterized in that this container is mounted on the frame so as to be able to be pivoted on itself and tilted in a vertical plane to allow emptying.
The accompanying drawings show by way of example one embodiment of the subject of the invention:
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view thereof;
fig. 2 a front view.
Figs. 3 and 4 are front and side views of a detail of the device.
In the drawing (fig. 1), the device is formed of a frame 1, by which it can be placed on the deck of a vehicle 2, and of a container 3 for the materials to be transported.
The frame 1 consists of a base frame, formed by an assembly of side members 10 and cross members 11, having, at its front end, a reticulated support 12 for the container, and at its rear end two uprights 13, joined at their free end by a stiffening beam 14, the usefulness of which will appear later.
On the base frame of the chassis are also fixed two telescopic arms 15 carrying hydraulic cylinders 16, and at its rear part a central cylinder 17. All these cylinders are supplied with pressurized fluid from a motor pump 18 attached. on the support 12; the length of the legs of the various jacks is sufficient to allow the entire device to be lifted to a level higher than that of the load bridge of the transport vehicle so as to allow loading and unloading of the device without requiring the intervention of special equipment lifting devices such as cranes, hoists, etc.
Thanks to the telescopic mounting of the arms 15, it is possible to arrange the jacks 16 in a very close position. of the body of the vehicle so as not to exceed its template, in particular during transport of the device, or on the contrary to move them far enough apart to give the device maximum stability, in particular during the operations of loading and unloading of the container.
In an alternative embodiment, not shown, the arms 15 could be mounted not telescopically on the frame, but articulated on the latter so as to be able to be folded down, in a vertical plane during the transport of materials in order to retract the jacks into the frame. the template of the vehicle.
On the bottom of the container 3 protrudes an axis 19 by which this container is pivoted in a bearing 20 mounted articulated on the support 12 in a vertical plane: this container can therefore be rotated on itself and also be tilted vertically. between two positions I and II (fig. 1), for example when unloading the materials it contains.
The container can be set in rotation thanks to a toothed ring 21 mounted on its bottom, concentrically with the axis 19, and with which engages a control pinion 22 wedged on a shaft 23 coaxial with the vertical tilting axis of said container. This pinion is controlled by a motor not shown by any suitable transmission systems, for example by means of a chain also not shown.
In the vicinity of its mouth, the container is engaged in a movable frame 24 in which it is guided in rotation by means of rollers 25 and 26.
This frame is provided with four pads 27 capable of sliding in the aforementioned uprights 13 which act as guides for these pads. These uprights are in fact constituted by U-shaped irons having an arcuate profile centered on the tilting axis of the container. Their connection with the base frame of the chassis is consolidated by reinforcements such as 28.
At the bottom of these uprights, and transversely to them, is arranged a winch 29 controlled by a motor not shown on which are able to wind the two ends of a lifting cable 30 passing over pairs of pulleys 31 fixed. on the upper part of the uprights 13 as well as on the return pulleys 32 and 33 with which the frame 24 is fitted. The cable 30 is fixed to the bottom of this frame, in its middle part, at 34.
By rotating the winch 29, the container will be lifted from its position II to position I by sliding the frame 24 in the guides 13; of course the winch is equipped with a brake allowing either to block the container in its position
I, or to slow down the tilting movement of this container towards its position II.
In an alternative embodiment, not shown, the pads 27 may be replaced by running rollers moving in contact with the bottom of the guides 13.
In other variants, also not shown, the upward or downward movement of the frame 24 could be controlled by means of an entirely different nature, in particular by jacks or a rack device.
The device shown and described is very simple and practical to use, not requiring specialized personnel for its operation: it can in fact be handled by resorting only to energy sources or own mechanisms and is therefore can be used even in the most isolated places without any need for special machines for its handling.
This device also has the advantage of also allowing the transformation of the materials transported between their point of departure and their destination or of completing this transformation, in particular when the device is intended for the transport of concrete. Of course, the materials transportable by this device can also be of any other nature, for example granular or pulverulent materials, liquid materials, such as bitumen, or solid materials, in particular in the case of gravel, refuse or parts of series.
