Wäh rend man z. B. reinem Kolophonium, dessen leicht flüchtige naturgegebene Bestandteile durch Destilla tion bei besonders hohen Temperaturen praktisch restlos entfernt sind, 12 % hochwertiger Weich macher, z. B.
Benutzt man statt Anilinhydrochlorid z.
Verwendet man z.
Würde man statt 6,5- 6,8 % Dibutylsebacat z.
Tin solder in the form of a hollow wire with a flux core The invention relates to a solder in the form of a hollow wire with a flux core, which contains activated natural resin or activated synthetic resin. In the following this product will be briefly referred to as tin solder.
In the rapid development of the electrical industry in the last few decades, especially in the area that is now called electronics, the soft soldering of contact connections has become of particular importance. While in earlier years soft soldering was used simultaneously to fasten certain components in circuits, today soft soldering is preferably only used to connect contact connections by soldering in such a way that the smallest and constant electrical contact resistance is created. In the sense of an ever more rationalized production, the solder was used in the form of wires and ge presently generally as Röhrenlötzinn, d. H. in the form of a hollow wire with a flux core.
Such pipe soldering pins have been used in thicknesses from less than 1 mm to all larger dimensions. As a filling, colophony or an artificial resin was and is used in the electrical industry, to which chemicals, called activators, have been added to shorten the soldering time. As a result, however, there was again a risk of corrosion for the finished solder joint, which in many places was unacceptable as it could later lead to defects in the finished device.
A very unpleasant consequence of soldering with rosin tube soldering tin is that the rosin zone that separates out next to each soldering point flakes off after certain time intervals and the rosin tinsel, e.g. In telephony, for example, if the relay falls between the switching contacts, it will cause power interruptions and shut down the system in whole or in part.
In addition, between the soldered metal and the rosin - especially if the latter was activated - and in the vicinity of the soldering point after the rosin skin has peeled off, the ingress of humidity causes corrosion to an unacceptable extent can. These possible consequences therefore rule out soft soldering with strongly activated rosin in many places, as they can lead to defects in the finished device. In particular, miniature technology, which is being introduced rapidly in electronics, is facing ever increasing problems in this regard.
The present invention overcomes these disadvantages. The invention is now characterized in that a plasticizer with a low vapor pressure and high boiling point is added to the flux core in such a low percentage that is adapted to the type and amount of activator substance used that the flux has a solidification range that is extended towards lower temperatures,
however, after the soldering next to the soldering point in an almost plastic and therefore corrosion-protecting, but non-sticky state that remains free of cracks.
Compounds which have the following properties are suitable as plasticizers for the purposes of the invention

<tb> Activators <SEP> do not inhibit <SEP>, <SEP> but <SEP> behave <SEP> neutrally <SEP> <SEP> or <SEP> at best <SEP> the <SEP> soldering <SEP> additionally support <SEP>. Suitable plasticizers that meet these requirements are primarily esters, in particular higher aliphatic Al'ko'hole with higher aliphatic acids, preferably dicarboxylic acids, whose thermal decomposition products caused by the heat of soldering are neutral to the other components of a rosin filling. E.g.
dioctyl sebacate gives very good results, as do esters of phthalic acid, adipic acid, tartaric acid and others. Of course, other compounds known as plasticizers such as ketones, acid amides, alcohols, ethers and the like are also possible. a. that meet the requirements defined above are usable.
These plasticizers increase the solidification area of rosin to lower heat areas. In other words, rosin with such a plasticizer will flow out more strongly during the soldering process and, in the form of a remaining, non-peeling or non-cracking coating, cover a wider or wider area around the solder joint than normal rosin.
While normal rosin, which is activated with halogen carriers, still emits halogens in vapor form when solidifying at temperatures of 100-120o, which cause unpleasant and potentially dangerous corrosion on the metal at the outer edges of the rosin zone, rosin with plasticizer flows back the invention can still be felt below the temperature of 90-1000 over this corrosion zone, thereby covering it like a paint and preventing the entry of air,
so that further corrosion damage can no longer occur. But since colophony with plasticizer has a much larger solidification area after lower heat, it remains almost plastic even after soldering without sticking, in other words, it adheres crack-free to and on the soldering point and can no longer flake off . The invention made light in this way a practically corrosion-free soldering with fast-acting activators that produce corrosion.
The tin solder according to the present invention largely saves the need for repainting of the solder joints, as they often have to be carried out for corrosion protection.
When measuring the amount of plasticizer added in individual cases, it must be taken into account that the usual activators themselves usually reduce the solidification point of rosin and thus its brittleness. The amount of plasticizer used must therefore be matched to the activator used and its quantitative proportion in the rosin. While you z. B. pure rosin, whose volatile natural components are practically completely removed by distillation at particularly high temperatures, 12% high-quality plasticizers, z. B.
If you have to add dioctyl sebacate or up to 15% weaker plasticizers in order to achieve the goal of an almost plastic, but non-sticky state of the rosin, these percentages must be reduced accordingly if the rosin is activated (rosin with chemical additives to accelerate the soldering reaction).
If you z. B. wants to bring a rosin activated with 8% aniline hydrochloride into the almost plastic, tack-free state, an additional amount of about 2.0-4.0% of the above-mentioned plasticizers is sufficient. With 5% aniline hydrochloride, the amount of plasticizer added has to be increased to approx. 5-7%.
If you use instead of aniline hydrochloride z. B. toluidine hydrochloride, the amount of plasticizer added must be increased even more, since toluidine hydrochloride reduces the brittleness of the resolidified rosin even less than aniline hydrochloride.
Other suitable activators which are useful in connection with the invention are hydrochlorides of organic bases, e.g. B. Naphthalenamino hydrochloride. Hydrazine hydrochlorides are also suitable if they are in connection with a phenyl or naphthalene residue, e.g. B. phenylhydrazine hydrochloride or naphthalene hydrazine hydrochloride.
These are all substances which dissolve in the molten rosin and which, at temperatures of approx. 100o, sometimes even above, emit hydrogen chloride gases in the rosin melt, and can be felt during brief soldering, i.e. H. ie with brief heating to soldering temperature.
What has been said also applies when using activators from the group of dicarboxylic acids. Just as the higher esters of dicarboxylic acids act as strong plasticizers within the meaning of the invention, so do the dicarboxylic acids themselves, albeit weaker, have a plasticizing effect.
All dicarboxylic acids, regardless of whether they are aliphatic or those with phenyl or naphthalene nuclei, have a certain softening effect, albeit with varying degrees of strength. It is therefore understandable that even when dicarboxylic acids are used as activators, the content of plasticizer must be matched to the content of activator according to type and amount in order to avoid stickiness of re-solidified rosin on the solder joint.
Simply touching a rosin film that has solidified after soldering with your finger immediately indicates whether it is tack-free. This test for freedom from tack is known to all those skilled in the art of soldering. With this sample, the maximum of the addition of the respective plasticizer to activated rosin can be determined in the simplest way. The minimum number of additions can be determined with the same ease through the simple crack test in sheet metal bending tests.
The amount of plasticizer added must be increased at least until samples of a rosin mixture, which are spread on a thin sheet of metal with a soldering iron as in practical soldering, have sufficient crack resistance in simple bending tests. Since the activators present in activated rosin change the solidification range depending on the substance and amount, the proportion of plasticizer with which the goal is achieved is of course also different depending on this. It is therefore a clear matter of course for any specialist in soldering technology to imitate the invention on the basis of the rule given in the claim.
As activators from the group of dicarboxylic acids, for. B. Phthalic acid: C6H4 (COOH) 2 Malonic acid: HOOC-CH2-COOH Succinic acid: HOOC-CH2-CH2-COOH- and higher -.
If you use z. B. an activator mixture of 1/3 succinic acid and 2/3 of a mixture of higher molecular dicarboxylic acids in a weight amount of 5% of the rosin, so to achieve an almost plastic, non-sticky state of the rosin after soldering 8% plasticizer, z . B. in the form of particularly strong cold-resistant plasticizers, such as dioctyl sebacate, are added. It is understandable that when reducing the activator content to z. B. 2% of the rosin content about 10% of the plasticizer mentioned above must be used.
If the activator content is to be increased, the plasticizer content must be reduced and vice versa.
Another example of the invention, which has proven itself in practice, is the following composition. For 100 parts of rosin, 2.5 parts of adipic acid are used as activator and 6.5-6.8% dibutyl sebacate as plasticizer. If you would instead of 6.5-6.8% dibutyl sebacate z. B. less than 6% len, the softening effect goes back sharply, while conversely at a content of over 7% of the plasticizer sticky colophonies arise, which must be avoided under all circumstances.
If you choose a pure natural rosin as the rosin, then the natural content of turpentine oil in the rosin (which must be distilled from the resin) must also be taken into account. A resin that has distilled off to a large extent needs a substantial amount of plasticizer added than a resin that still contains noticeable amounts of turpentine oil, which also acts as a plasticizer.
The production of a Röhrenlötzinns according to the invention is done, for. B. according to the following scheme By simple laboratory measurements, the exact recipe of the rosin mixture is initially determined in accordance with the guidelines of this He-making with regard to the added amounts of activator and plasticizer. Now a certain amount of natural rosin or abietic acid, e.g. B. Tessalin or corresponding synthetic resins melted by careful heating with constant temperature control while stirring until the well mixed melt has a temperature of 100-1100 C.
Then, with constant stirring and while maintaining the temperature, the activator or activator mixture is slowly added and dissolved in precisely calculated amounts. After the clear solution has been obtained, the specified amount of plasticizer is added while stirring vigorously.
This melt is now filled in a known manner in the preheated and set to a certain tempera ture filling vessel of the hydraulic extrusion press for the production of the soldering tin. The filling vessel is closed and the press is put into operation, whereby the finished tube solder with the filling described is ejected. When using easily disintegrating activators, the filling vessel above the melt is filled with a gas with a slight excess pressure, which if possible consists of gases that can arise during thermal decomposition of the activators. Find as activators z.
B. compounds containing hydrogen chloride, which tend to form gaseous deposits of hydrogen chloride in the heat, the gas filling can be enriched with hydrogen chloride gas in order to reduce the rate of disintegration of the activator at the temperatures of the pressing process or practically push it back completely. The tubing solder wire ejected from the press is then reduced to the desired diameter in normal wire drawing machines.
You can of course also fill slightly larger sized unfilled tin solder pipes under gas pressure with the above-described rosin melt and, after the melt has cooled, pull the filled pipe down to the desired smaller diameter. These operations are known in the art and do not form part of the invention.
