Flat knitting apparatus with two needle beds In flat knitting machines with two needle beds, there is a need to adjust the mutual distance between the beds within a relatively narrow range of, for example, 4-6 mm, in order to create the most favorable conditions for processing yarns of different thicknesses, and also the one needle bed completely off to swing others away in order to work only with one needle bed.
It is the object of the invention to allow the adjustment of the distance between the two needle beds and the pivoting away of the one needle bed in a FITS simple manner, which is particularly important for hand knitting machines for domestic use.
The flat knitting apparatus according to the invention has two needle beds, one of which is pivotably mounted and pivotable to adjust the bed spacing in a certain angular range and to pivot away from the other bed by a larger angle, the pivotably mounted bed latching at least one point on one part is, which can be controlled by a single actuator for setting in the mentioned specific Win angle range as well as for unlatching the swivel ble bed.
Preferably, a single rotatable control button is available, which can be brought into different, certain bed distances ent speaking positions based on a scale, and which can also be brought ver in an unlatching position, for which one needle bed can be easily pivoted away from the other.
A particularly simple actuating device for adjusting the knitting locks of the flat knitting apparatus can preferably also be provided, so that the flat knitting apparatus according to the present invention is equipped with extremely simple operating means despite its very extensive adjustability and versatility.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the flat knitting apparatus according to the invention is shown. Fig. 1 shows a schematic cross-section through the apparatus in the vicinity of one end and seen in the direction towards this end.
Fig. 2 is a section along line II-11 in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a section along line III-III in Fig. 1, and Fig. 4 is an axial section through the setting device of the locks of the flat knitting apparatus.
The two needle beds 1 and 2 are shown schematically in FIG. 1 without the needles inserted. The two rope locks are also not visible in the section. At both ends, the needle bed 1 is screwed with essentially triangular Montageplat th 3, and can be attached by means of tabs 3 'of the mounting plates 3, as well as clamps, not shown, for example on a table edge.
In the free lower corner, the plates 3 each have a sector-like tab 4 with an eyelet 5, through the slot 6 of which a fastening screw 7 (FIG. 2) can be passed for a mounting plate 8 of the needle bed 2 in a manner described later. The needle bed 2 is longitudinally displaceable, d. H. perpendicular to the plane of the drawing of Fig. 1 ver slidably mounted on tubes 8 ', which are connected to the two similar, lying at each end of the bed plate 8.
As FIG. 2 shows, each fastening screw 7 is firmly connected to a plate 8 and protrudes concentrically through the eyelet 5 in the normal state. The screw 7 is screwed to a hand nut 9, the inner conical end 10 of which the nut 9 and the screw 7 are centered on the eyelet 5, respectively. Between a shoulder of the nut 9 and the plate 3, a plate spring 11 is inserted, which ensures that the plates 3 and 8 are always pressed against each other with a certain force, and thus only rotated against each other by overcoming a certain amount of friction. After loosening the nut 9, the screws 7 can be guided out through the slot 6 of the eyelets 5.
In. the plates 8 have bolts 12 inserted which, when the needle bed 2 is in the normal operating position, engage in a notch behind a nose 13 of a pawl 14 without play. As FIG. 3 shows, the pawl 14 is mounted on an eccentric 15 with practically no play, but is easily rotatable.
At a downwardly projecting arm 16 of the pawl 14 engages a tension spring 17, which always seeks to keep the pawl in the position shown in Fig. 1 at a stop 18, for which position the nose 13 of the pawl engages around the bolt 12 and thus holds the needle bed 2 in the operating position shown. The Exzen ter 15 is attached by means of its hub 19 on a shaft 20 which protrudes under the needle bed 1 from one to the other end of the machine and with-. by means of an actuating button 21 mounted on one side can be rotated.
A pin 22 is embedded in the hub 19 which, when the shaft or the hub 19 rotates sufficiently, strikes against a pin 23 of the pawl to disengage the pawl from its rest position shown in FIG. 1 against the pull of the spring 17. Similar parts 12-19, 22 and 23 are attached to both ends of the apparatus.
The operation of the device in FIGS. 1 and 3 is as follows: If the eccentric 15 is rotated counterclockwise from the position shown in FIG. 1 by means of the actuating button 21, the pawl 14, which is practically free of play on this eccentric, is turned around an axis passing through the stop point on the pin 18 is pivoted slightly clockwise, with the result that the nose 13 and the pin 12 are shifted somewhat to the right in FIG.
The needle bed 2 is thus pivoted under the action of its own weight by a small angle in a clockwise direction about its axis of rotation formed by the two screws 7, so that the upper end of the needle bed 2 is removed from the opposite upper end of the needle bed 1 ent. The mutual distance between the two needle beds can therefore be changed by a distance which corresponds approximately to the eccentricity of the eccentric 15, which can be, for example, about 2 mm, so that the distance between the two needle beds can be set between 4 and 6 mm.
If the shaft 20 is rotated counterclockwise so far that the driver 22 hits the pin 23 of the pawl 14, the pawl is pivoted counterclockwise against the action of the spring 17 and the pin 12 is released. The needle bed 2 can therefore now be pivoted about its pivot axis by an arbitrarily large angle down from the needle bed 1 to expose the needle bed 1 for knitting with only one needle bed.
If the actuating button 21 is released after the needle bed 2 has been unlatched, the pawl 14 returns to the rest position shown in FIG. 1. If the needle bed 2 is subsequently pivoted up again, the pawl 14 is automatically raised when the pin 12 hits the front surface of the nose 13 against the pull of the spring 17, so that the latching of the needle bed 2 in its working position is very simple Way without pressing the button 21 is possible.
In order to simplify the operation of the knitting apparatus as far as possible, special means, shown in FIG. 4, for preselecting the knitting lock setting with regard to mesh size and knitting type are provided. The rope lock can for example have the construction described in Swiss Patent No. 367 924. In Fig. 4, only the housing plate 24 of this lock, an eccentric 26 acting on a part 25 and a control disk 27 are shown schematically. The eccentric 26 is connected to a hollow shaft 28 and the disk 27 is connected to a shaft 29.
With the hollow shaft 28, a part 30 is connected, which has a spring-loaded locking ball 31 in a bore, and which has a disk-like flange 32 with an annular edge 33 at the end facing the plate 24. A disk 34 is firmly connected to the shaft 29. The parts 30 and 34 are each provided with coupling teeth 35 and 36, respectively. Between the parts 30 and 34, a ring-like intermediate part 37 is provided, which is provided with two opposing, the coupling teeth 35 and 36 corresponding and cooperating with these coupling teeth 38 and 39 conditions.
For example, three compression springs 40, of which only one is shown in FIG. 4, act on the part 37, which strive to hold the ring 37 in an upper end position in which the coupling teeth 36 and 39 are held in engagement. Reference marks, for example arrows, are attached to the ring 33 and the disk 34 and point to scales, which are not shown in detail and which are attached to the lock plate 24 outside the ring 33. A scale cooperating with the mark on the ring 33 indicates the mesh size and a scale cooperating with an arrow on the part 34 indicates the type of knitting.
With the disc 27, a locking device, not shown, cooperates, which holds this disc and the parts firmly connected to it when a certain setting is reached.
The operation of the setting device according to FIG. 4 for preselecting a certain mesh size and type of knitting is as follows: First, the ring 37 is grasped and pressed against the action of the spring 40 into the lower end position shown in FIG. 4, in which the coupling teeth 35 and 38 are engaged. The ring 37 is thus coupled to the part 30 or the hollow shaft 28 and at the same time decoupled from the part 34 and the shaft 29, so that the mesh size can now be set by rotating the ring 37 and the parts coupled to it, wel che by a reference mark of the ring 33 is displayed on an associated scale.
After preselecting the mesh size, the ring 37 is relieved so that it passes under the action of the springs 40 into its upper end position, in which the coupling teeth 36 and 39 are in engagement, since the coupling teeth 35 and 38 are disengaged. By turning the ring 37 again, the disk 34 coupled therewith, the shaft 29 and the disk 27 are now rotated until an arrow on the part 34 points to the point on an associated scale on the plate 24 that indicates the desired knitting type.
