Mold for high-frequency heat treatment of moldings and method for producing this mold The invention relates to a mold for the heat treatment of moldings in an electrical high-frequency field and a method for producing such molds.
In the heat treatment, such as. B. drying, heating, curing of molded bodies, which consist of a soft starting material before or at the start of the treatment, it is necessary to store the molded body during the treatment in a form which prevents changes in shape ver. This shape should not hinder the heat treatment, that is, it should disturb or influence the HF field used for heating as little as possible. It should take up little energy from the field, so that it is used as completely as possible to heat the shaped body. The form must also have sufficient mechanical strength. It should act heat-insulating to avoid heat loss, and it should be easy, cheap and quick to manufacture.
These requirements can be met by using containers made of materials, in particular plastics with a low dielectric constant and a small loss angle. In practice, however, there are usually additional requirements that often contradict each other. If, for example, the contact surface is to be heated in order to avoid the formation of condensation water, this requirement is in contradiction to low losses and high dimensional accuracy. Furthermore, it is often not possible to find a material for the mold that meets certain mechanical and / or chemical requirements and at the same time has low dielectric losses.
According to the invention, the identified difficulties are overcome in that the mold has a thin molded shell and a support body located behind this molded shell and made of a material with a small dielectric constant and a small loss angle.
The invention also relates to a method for producing such shapes. This is characterized in that the shell mold is backed with a granulate with a low dielectric constant and a small loss angle and this granulate is solidified to form a mechanically resistant body.
In the following details of the invention are discussed with reference to the exemplary embodiment from shown in the drawing.
The drawing shows a form according to the invention in section. According to the illustration, the shaped body 10 to be treated is semicircular in section. It lies during the treatment in the shell 12 made of a plastic, for example, which was produced by one of the known construction methods. The shell mold has a wall thickness of a few millimeters.
To give it the necessary strength and an outer shape suitable for easy handling, there is a support body 14 on the back of the mold shell 12, which according to the present invention consists of a material with a low dielectric constant and a small angle of loss.
Various materials, especially plastics, are available as material for this support body, such as polyethylene and polystyrene, which have a low dielectric constant s of about 2.3 and a small loss angle tg ä of about 4.10-4. Furthermore, plastics in foam form (plastic foams) are also suitable as material for the support body.
Depending on the requirements of the treatment process, the support body can also have a metal frame 16, for example made of aluminum, or be held in a molding box.
The shape shown has the advantage that the heating by the high-frequency field is practically limited to the shaped body to be treated, since the support body absorbs practically no energy from the field due to the electrical values of its material and thus does not heat up or otherwise consume energy.
The mold shell 12 is generally made of a different material than the support body, the choice being based on the requirements of the treatment process. For example, the shell mold must be resistant to mechanical and chemical stress from the material to be treated. Furthermore, a Wärmelei device of the shell mold or a Aufhetzung the shell mold by the RF field may be desired to support the treatment process, for. B. by preventing the formation of condensation. In this case, the material of the shell mold must have corresponding dielectric values.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the support body consists of a synthetic resin foam or the solidified granules of a material with a low dielectric constant and a small loss angle, the individual particles of the granules being connected to form a solid body. This training results in a particularly simple method for producing the mold. The above-mentioned materials suitable for producing the support body are generally thermosetting or thermoplastic materials.
The usual methods for shaping such substances, such as injection molding in particular, would be far too cumbersome and expensive for the present case of producing the support body; To manufacture the mold itself, which is only used as a production aid, an expensive injection mold would first have to be made for each support body.
Here, the shell mold is reinforced by a foam or the raw material, which is generally available as granules, is used directly for backing the shell mold, the individual particles of the granules being connected to form a solid conglomerate. This can be done by using a cold-curing synthetic resin as a binder for the individual particles of the granulate.
In the production of the support body, the procedure is that the granulate particles provided with synthetic resin binder are placed in the desired shape on the rear surface of the shell mold and the support body thus obtained is solidified. When using a granulate made of polystyrene, cold-curing epoxy resins have proven to be excellent. However, other granulates such as polyethylene or prefoamed plastics can also be used.
The solidification of the granules to a solid support body can also be followed by other methods. So you can z. B. soften the individual parts of the granules by treating with a solvent medium on the surface and make them sticky, whereupon the solvent is driven out again after the backing of the shell, whereby the individual particles stick together ver superficially. You can also heat the surface of the individual particles up to a temperature at which the particles stick together on the surface, and build up a solid support body in the manner of a sintering process.
The described production of the support body starting from a granulate is extremely advantageous because of its simplicity, since any shaping or machining is avoided. Rather, the lining of the shell mold, the desired shape and the subsequent consolidation can be done entirely without or only with very primitive aids without the use of pressure and heat.
A support body consisting of such solidified granules continues to offer great advantages for the heat treatment in the electrical RF field, since the support body has good heat resistance and, due to its structure, has extremely low heat conduction. It thus has a heat-insulating effect, so that the heat generated in the treated molded body remains concentrated on it.
The form according to the invention can be used in many areas of HF heating, for example for curing and drying mold cores for casting molds, for pre-drying objects made of plastic masses such as porcelain mass and clay, which are subjected to a drying process before the actual firing . The present form and the method are not restricted either to this field of application or to the exemplary embodiment explained.
An exemplary embodiment of a form according to the invention is given below, it being understood that the invention should not be restricted to the details of this example.
The mold surface consisted of a cold-cured epoxy resin compound, the following composition in the uncured state has a mixture of a liquid polyglycidyl ether, he keep by condensation of epichlorohydrin and 2,2-bis (p-oxyphenyl) propane, which has an epoxy content of 5.3 epoxy equivalents / kg, with the equivalent amount of triethylenetetramine. This mixture had been mixed with 150% parts by weight of quartz flour before hardening.
The support body consists of a polystyrene granulate bonded with a hardened epoxy resin compound of the composition given above.
