La fig. 1 en est une élévation en coupe;
Packaging for the instant preparation of whipped cream
Apparatuses are known for the instantaneous preparation of whipped cream commonly used in bars or restaurants and which consist of a container with a removable cover, capable of being closed in a leaktight manner, and by a source of pressurized gas, of preferably NSO, which is introduced into this container, once it is filled with cream or a mixture of cream or milk.
These devices are used by stirring them so as to intimately mix the gas and the cream and then allowing the emulsion thus obtained to escape, through a suitable nozzle, which, with the output speed that it takes, simply becomes whipped cream.
In some of these devices, in particular in those of small capacity, the pressurized gas is contained in a cartridge which is fixed to the cover or to the wall of the container and which is emptied inside the latter.
In other devices, the receptacle is more simply connected to a bottle of liquid gas, for example of the type used for welding.
All these devices are impractical: firstly because they require either the purchase of a gas cartridge at a relatively high price each time you want to have whipped cream, or the presence of a gas bottle which is not very practical to handle, and then because they must be cleaned whenever the charge of cream which they contain is exhausted and consequently requires a fairly long time for them to be put into service.
These various drawbacks have also prevented the general distribution of these devices and in particular their use in households.
The present invention relates to a packaging for the instantaneous preparation of whipped cream obviating the aforementioned drawbacks and which is characterized by the fact that it is formed of a sealed container containing liquid cream and a pressurized gas.
Such an assembly has the advantage of being able to be prefabricated in the factory and sold, already ready for use, in dairies and foodstuffs shops where it can be purchased by anyone.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the present invention:
Fig. 1 is an elevation in section;
fig. 2 a detail view of an accessory.
In the drawing, 1 is a container containing cream 2 and a mass of gas 3, for example 1'N2O, under a pressure which may vary from 2 to 5 atmospheres depending on the case.
The receptacle 1 consists of an envelope of plastic material, for example polyethylene, with a rounded bottom 4, having a nozzle 5, closed by a membrane, not shown, which can be easily pierced, for example with a punch. This nozzle 5 is provided on its outer face with a thread 6 intended for screwing on a closure cap 7 having inside a buffer 8 of elastic material, for example of plastic foam, intended for the sealing of the nozzle. 5, when it has been pierced.
The assembly shown is prefabricated in the factory and is intended to be marketed, in dairies and foodstuffs shops, for example. It can be stored in a refrigerated cabinet for a period of approximately 7 to 8 days.
To obtain whipped cream, it suffices to shake the receptacle so as to thoroughly mix the cream and the gas and to form an emulsion, and then to pierce the nozzle S thus leaving the cream to escape under pressure. The product leaving the container is cream having the appearance of whipped cream, the gas causing this cream to swell during its relaxation. In addition, the resulting whipped cream has a relatively low temperature.
The output of the cream can be interrupted by closing the container by means of the stopper 7; in one embodiment not shown, the nozzle 5 could of course be provided with a closing valve, in particular when the container 1 has a particularly large capacity.
When the container is completely emptied of its contents, it is not recovered and is thrown away: of course such a container could also be made of a material more resistant than plastic, for example aluminum.
The whipped cream can be poured simply through the nozzle 5 of the container, as described, or alternatively, in a variant, through ejection nozzles of the type shown in FIG. 2, which can be screwed onto the nozzle 5, making it possible to shape the jet of cream in a different manner from nozzle to nozzle. These nozzles are particularly suitable for making decorations on pastries or frozen pies for example.
