B. Phenol, Resorcin, 2,4,6-Trinietliylolphenol, 2,6- Dimethylol-p-kresol (1.Tvitinalkohoi), 2-Methylol-p- kresol, 4-Methylol-o-kresol, 2,6-Dimethylol-p-amyl- phenöl, Dihydroxydiphenyl, Dihydroxydiphenylpro- pan, Dihydroxydiphenyltrichloräf:
B. eine bessere Farbstoffausbeute, bes sere Durchfärbung des Polyamidmaterials und bes sere Gleichmässigkeit der Färbung auf diesem Mate rial; ausserdem ist es möglich, Wollmaterial verschie dener Provenienz gleichmässig an- und durchzufär ben, was in vielen Fällen eine höhere Lichtechtheit zur Folge hat; ferner behalten die erfindungsgemäss behandelten Fasern einen weicheren Griff und lassen sich besser verspinnen; dann sind die Imprägnier- flotten leicht zu erstellen, sozusagen unbegrenzt halt bar und verschmutzen die Apparatur praktisch nicht;
C. I. bedeutet Colour Index.

Process for dyeing and printing natural or synthetic polyamide fibers with dyes of anionic character The present invention relates to a process for dyeing and printing natural or synthetic polyamide fibers, the dye liquors suitable for this process. or printing pastes as well as the polyamide fibers dyed or printed by the process.
In the main patent no. 381 641 a process is described for dyeing and printing natural or synthetic polyamide fibers by applying optionally thickened, aqueous solutions of dyes of anionic character to the fibers at a temperature below the The temperature at which these dyes are absorbed, and the dyeing or printing on the possibly dried goods by steaming and immersion in a hot acid bath using a dye solution,
which has a condensation product of a fatty acid with 8 to 14 carbon atoms or a mixture of such fatty acids with 2 equivalents of dialkanolamine as the color transfer agent and also contains at least one non-foaming anionic dispersant.
In further processing of the subject matter of the invention, it has now been shown that dyed, level dyeings and prints on natural or synthetic polyamide fibers are also good if thickened, aqueous solutions of dyes with an anionic character are used which, in addition to a condensation product of a fatty acid with 8 up to 14 carbon atoms or from a mixture of such fatty acids with 2 equivalents of dialkanolamine as color transfer agent and a non-foaming anionic dispersant,
they also contain at least one compound that swells the polyamide. Polyamide fibers are impregnated with such solutions at a temperature below the absorption temperature of these dyes and the dyeing or printing of the possibly dried goods is completed by steaming and / or immersing them in a hot acid bath with subsequent rinsing.
This process is suitable for the continuous dyeing of polyamides, especially wool.
Compounds which can be used according to the invention and have a swelling effect on polyamide include, for example, the following: Water-soluble mercapto compounds, e.g. B. thio glycolic acid or its water-soluble salts, orga African hydroxyl compounds, namely aromatic hydroxyl compounds such as those of the benzene series, z.
B. phenol, resorcinol, 2,4,6-tri-diethylolphenol, 2,6-dimethylol-p-cresol (1st vitamin alcohol), 2-methylol-p-cresol, 4-methylol-o-cresol, 2,6-dimethylol -p-amyl- phenol, dihydroxydiphenyl, dihydroxydiphenylpro- pan, dihydroxydiphenyltrichlora:
ethylene or hexachlorodioxydiphenyimethane or those of the naphthalene series, e.g. B. dihydroxydinaphthyl or dihydroxydinaphthylmethane, araliphatic hydroxyl compounds, such as benzyl alcohol, or aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydroxyl compounds, such as tetramethylolcyclohexanol,
also organic acid amides, namely open or cyclic carboxamides, for example acetamide, benzamide, urea or caprolactam, or organic sulfonic acid amides, such as benzene or toluenesulfonic acid amide, orga African thiocarboxamides such as thiourea or organic amidines, eg.
B. guanidine. The preferred swelling agent for polyamides, especially for Kolle, is thioglycolic acid. Non-foaming anion-active dispersants that can be used are primarily organic sulfonic acids or
their soluble salts, especially simple aromatic sulfonic acids, for example benzene or naphthalene mono- or disulfonic acids. Aliphatic- or alicyclic-hydrocarbon-substituted arylsulfonic acids, eg.
B. methyl, ethyl, propyl or isopropylbenzenesulfonic acid, dimethylbenzenesulfonic acid and, above all, tetrahydronaphthalenesulfonic acid.
The aforementioned Kritchewski bases described in US Pat. No. 2,089,212 are used as fatty acid-dialkanolamine condensation products which can be used according to the invention.
The dyes with anionic character which can be used according to the invention can belong to any desired class of dyes. It can e.g. B. to ge optionally metal-containing azo, anthraquinone, phthalocyanine or nitro dyes. Metal-containing azo dyes are given preference, in particular those that contain 2 molecules of azo dyes per atom of metal. Suitable metals are mainly chromium or cobalt.
The products known in textile printing are used as thickeners, in particular the water-soluble salts of alginic acids. However, cellulose derivatives such as methyl cellulose or carboxymethyl cellulose can also be used.
As polyamide fibers which can be dyed according to the invention, fiber material made from both natural and synthetic polyamides can be used. Examples of natural polyamides are wool and silk, for artificial polyamides nylon and perlon (Perlon trademark association, registered association, Frankfurt a.
M., Germany), Rilsan (Societe Organico, Paris, France) or Grilon (Emser Werke, Ems, Switzerland), etc., whereby drying under heat-setting conditions may be beneficial for the artificial polyamides after impregnation. First and foremost, wool comes into consideration for the dyeing process according to the invention.
The polyamide fiber material can be dyed according to the invention in any form, for example in the form of flakes, sliver, yarn or fabrics.
The dye is applied to the polyamide fiber material, for example. B. by printing, loading or spraying, but preferably by padding. An impregnation liquor is expediently prepared in such a way that, in an aqueous solution at about 80 ° C., which contains the fatty acid-dialkanolamine condensation product (Kritehewski base),
contains a non-foaming anionic dispersant and the swelling agent and also thickener and optionally triethanolamine, first dissolves the dye and dilutes this solution with cold water to the desired concentration, making sure that the temperature of the liquor does not exceed about 40.degree. The polyamide fiber material is expediently impregnated below 40 C and then squeezed off. The impregnation liquor content is 40-110% of the fiber weight.
The impregnated polyamide fiber material can be steamed in the usual way, advantageously with neutral, saturated steam. Wool and silk are steamed at around 100-120 C, synthetic fibers at 100-140 "C.
The fixing of the dye on the polyamide fiber material by treatment in a hot acid bath can be carried out in a known manner. It is advantageous to introduce the goods into the acid bath at 80-98 C. Acids suitable for the acid bath are inorganic and organic acids and acidic salts. Examples of inorganic acids are sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid or hydrochloric acid. Examples of organic acids are formic acid or acetic acid; suitable acidic salts are, for example, sodium or potassium hydrogen sulfate or ammonium chloride. Organic acids are preferred, especially formic acid.
In some cases it is useful to add water-soluble salts, preferably calcium salts, to the acid bath.
After the dyes have been fixed on the polyamide fiber material, either by steaming or by treatment in a hot acid bath, the material is rinsed in the usual way, preferably with an aqueous solution of formic acid or acetic acid, depending on the type of polyamide at 40 -98 C, if necessary with the addition of detergent substances.
The process according to the invention is suitable for dyeing polyamide fiber material and has various advantages over previously known processes used for the same purpose. It delivers e.g.
B. better dye yield, better dyeing of the polyamide material and better uniformity of the color on this mate rial; In addition, it is possible to evenly dye and dy wool material of different provenance, which in many cases results in greater lightfastness; Furthermore, the fibers treated according to the invention retain a softer handle and can be spun better; then the impregnation liquors are easy to produce, can be kept indefinitely, so to speak, and practically do not contaminate the equipment;
Finally, the pre-drying of the impregnated goods can be dispensed with, which saves time and equipment.
The use of aromatic sulfonic acids in the continuous dyeing of wool is known from French patent specification No. 1 196 871, but these sulfonic acids are only added in the developing bath. The addition of non-foaming, anion-active dispersants to the impregnation liquor prevents the separation into a phase with few auxiliaries and a phase rich in auxiliaries without affecting the dye yield with the dyed material in any way.
In the following examples, the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the parts are parts by weight. Parts by weight are related to parts by volume as grams are to cms. C.I. means Color Index.
Example 1 40 parts of the chromium-containing monoazo dye are dissolved: 2-hydroxy-5-sulfmethylamino-1-amino-benzene ->. Carbethoxyamino-7-hydroxynaphthalene (dye:
Chromium = 2: 1) in an 80 "warm mixture of 300 parts of a 2.5% strength aqueous sodium alginate solution and 30 parts of condensation product from coconut fatty acid with 2 equivalents of diethanolamine (according to Example 3 of US Pat. No.
2,089,212) and the solution of 15 parts of sodium tetrahydronaphthalenesulfonic acid and 2 parts of thioglycolic acid in 250 parts of water. The resulting solution is diluted with 400 parts of cold water. The temperature of the solution should be about 40 ".
This liquor is used to impregnate wool flannel at 40, squeeze it to a liquor content of 80% and steam it with saturated steam at 102 under slight excess pressure for 4 minutes. Then you rinse the fabric first with hot and then cold water.
A very uniform and well-dyed gray wool dyeing which shows no gray haze (so-called sandwich effect) is obtained.
If the steaming time in the above example is extended to 8, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, the result is gray wool dyeings that are somewhat stronger in color, but otherwise equivalent.
If, in the above example, the same number of parts of sodium o-xylenesulfonate or 30 parts of sodium naphthalenesulfonate are used instead of 15 parts of sodium tetrahydronaphthalenesulfonate, and if the rest of the procedure is as indicated in the example, dyeings of similar qualities are obtained.
If, in the above example, other heavy metal-containing monoazo dyes, e.g. B. the dyes known under the trade names Irgalanolive BGL, Irgalanbraun 7RL, Irgalan brown 2GL or Irgalangelb 2RL from. JR Geigy AG, Basel, Switzerland, and if the rest of the procedure is as indicated in the example, then olive or . brown or
Yellow-dyed wool flannel of just as good color penetration and uniformity of the colorations.
If ammonium thioglycolate or 20 parts of 2,6-dimethylol-p-cresol, 2,4,6-trimethylolphenol or tetramethylolcyclohexanol are used instead of thioglycolic acid, good colorations are obtained.
Example 2 Wool flannel is impregnated with an impregnation liquor prepared according to Example 1, Section 1 at 40 and squeezed off to a liquor content of 50%. The padded fabric is placed in a 98% aqueous bath containing 8 cm3 / liter of 85% formic acid and left in this bath for 5 minutes.
There is only insignificant bleeding of the dye into the acid bath. Then the gray-colored wool flannel is washed with a 45 warm aqueous solution of 0.5 g / liter nonylphenol polyglycol ether for 5 minutes and then rinsed with cold water. The gray coloration obtained is well colored and has no gray haze (so-called sand wich effect).
Example 3 Wool flannel is impregnated with an impregnation liquor which contains the dye polar brilliant blue GAW (C.1.61135, Acid Blue 127) instead of the metal-containing azo dye mentioned in the first section of Example 1 and otherwise as in Example 1, From section 1, described, is made,
padded at 40 and squeezed to a liquor content of 80%. The goods are then steamed at 102 for 4 minutes under slight excess pressure and then rinsed with hot water and then with cold water.
A very uniform and well-dyed blue wool flannel which does not show any gray haze (so-called sandwich effect) is obtained.
If you use the disazo dye of the formula instead of polar brilliant blue GAW
EMI0003.0115
or Neolangelb 8GE (C.I. Acid Yellow 101) and if the rest of the procedure is as indicated in the example, material that is also well and uniformly red or yellow through-colored is obtained.
Example 4 With an impregnation liquor produced according to Example 3, Section 1, wool flannel is impregnated at 40 and squeezed off to a liquor content of 80%. The padded fabric is then run into a 98 warm aqueous bath containing 8 cm3 / liter 85% formic acid.
The fabric is left in this bath for 5 minutes. Only insignificant bleeding of the dye occurs. The goods are then washed with a 45 warm aqueous solution of 0.5 gfLiter nonylphenol polyglycol ether and then rinsed with cold water.
The wool flannel obtained in this way is well colored, and the blue colors are very even, without a gray haze (so-called sandwich effect) occurring.
Example 5 40 parts of the cobalt-containing monoazo dye are dissolved: 2-'-hydroxy-1-amiobenzene-5-sulfonic acid methylamide ---- 1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazolone (dye:
Cobalt - 2: 1) in an 80 warm mixture of 300 parts of a 2.50% aqueous sodium alginate solution and 30 parts of condensation product of coconut fatty acid with 2 equivalents of diethanolamine (according to Example 3 of US Pat. No. 2,089,212) and the Solution of 15 parts of sodium tetrahydronaphthafn sulfonic acid and 2 parts of thioglycolic acid in 250 parts of water. The resulting solution is diluted with 400 parts of cold water.
The temperature of the solution should be around 40.
Silk serge is impregnated with this liquor at 40%, it is squeezed to a liquor content of 80% and it is steamed with saturated steam at 102 ° C. under slight excess pressure for 4 minutes. The fabric is then rinsed first with hot and then with cold water.
A very uniform and well-dyed yellow silk dyeing which does not show any gray haze (so-called sandwich effect) is obtained.
If the steaming time in the above example is extended to 8, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, yellow silk dyeings that are somewhat stronger, but otherwise equivalent, are obtained.
If, in the above example, Neolangelb 8GE (C.1. Aeid Yellow 101) is used instead of the dye mentioned, a corresponding, yellow-colored silk serge of equally good color penetration and levelness of the colorations is obtained.
Example 6 With an impregnating liquor produced according to Example 5, Section 1, silk serge is impregnated at 40, then it is squeezed to a liquor content of 80% and it is placed in a 98% aqueous bath <RTI
ID = "0004.0052"> which contains 8 cm3.1 liters of 85% formic acid, and leaves it in this bath for 5 minutes, with only insignificant bleeding of the dye in the acid bath. The silk serge dyed in this way is then washed with a 45% warm aqueous solution of 0.5 g liter of nonylphenol polyglycol ether and then rinsed with cold water.
This gives a well-dyed yellow silk serge of good levelness, without a gray haze:> (so-called sandwich effect).
Corresponding yellow colorations on silk serge with equally good color penetration of the material and levelness of the colorations are obtained if the dye Neolangelb 8GE C.1. Acid Yellow 101) and otherwise proceed as given in the example.
Example 7 2.5 parts of the cobalt-containing monoazo dye are dissolved: 2-hydroxy-1-ami-, iobenzene-5-sulfonic acid methylamide> 1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazolone (dye: cobalt < B> = 2: 1) and 0.5 parts of the chromium-containing monoazo dye: 2-hydroxy-5-nitro-1-aminobenzene> 1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazolone (dye:
Chromium = 2: 1) in an 80 warm mixture of 300 parts of a 2.5% aqueous sodium alginate solution and 20 parts of condensation product from coconut fatty acid with 2 equivalents of diethanolamine (according to Example 3 of US Pat. No. 2,089,212) and 20 Parts of sodium tetrahydronaphthalenesulfonic acid and 2 parts of thioglycolic acid in 250 parts of water.
The solution obtained is diluted with enough parts of cold water that 1000 parts by volume are obtained. With this liquor wool sliver is impregnated at 40, to a liquor content before, 103 0/0., Based on the fiber material, squeezed and then steamed at 104 with saturated steam 81! Minutes.
Then the goods are first washed with a solution containing 1 g liter of nonylphenol polyglycol ether and 1 cm-liter of concentrated ammonia solution, then rinsed with water and then washed with a 2 cm liter of 85% formic acid-containing aqueous solution and, if necessary, rinsed again with water.
The orange-red ridge dyed in this way shows good dyeing and levelness. The handle of the goods is very open and voluminous, and the material is easy to comb and spin. If, in the above example, a dye liquor that has been left to stand for several weeks is used and the rest of the procedure is as indicated in the example, a uniformly dyed and dyed wool top is obtained.
Example 8 With a solution that was prepared as in Example 1, From section 1 and instead of 300 parts contains 500 parts of sodium alginate solution, be printed in the known manner of Vigoureux printing woolen tops with a liquor absorption of 85%.
The aftertreatment of the printed goods by steaming and rinsing takes place as given in Example 7. A gray-colored woolen sliver is obtained, which is characterized by a full, voluminous handle. The goods are easy to comb and spin.
