Device for automatic compensation of the influence of the vertical axis inclination on surveying instruments, which causes errors in elevation angle measurements. When measuring elevation angle measurements by means of surveying instruments, the measurement errors attributable to the vertical axis inclination can be corrected in such a way that a collimation level connected either to the reading optics or to the index is set by hand .
In order to avoid this delicate and time-consuming work of setting the reading optics or the index by means of a collimating vial, devices have already been proposed in which the vertical axis skewness that causes measurement errors during elevation angle measurements is automatically compensated. These automatically acting devices are usually a component which, under the action of gravity, always automatically sets itself in a certain position with respect to the plumb line and thus influences the beam path of the reading system in the desired sense depending on the vertical axis of the instrument .
Such automatically adjusting components are known to be: friction-free or almost friction-free mounted or suspended prisms or lenses, liquid wedges with a refractive effect, reflective liquid surfaces. In all known devices of this type, the beam path is only influenced in the reading microscope; H. The beam path in the reading microscope is influenced in such a way that the image of the single point of the circle always falls in the same position in relation to the reading index regardless of the inclination of the vertical axis, regardless of the inclination of the telescope.
In the case of instruments with two or more, for example with two diametrically opposite circular reading points and a fixed reading index, these devices first map one circular reading point to the other circular reading point and only then is the beam path influenced in the reading microscope in such a way that
that the image of these at the circular reading points always falls in the same mutual position relative to the reading index with the same telescope inclination, regardless of the inclination of the vertical axis. Since in these known devices the compensation of the standing axis skew after the circular readings he follows, they can only be used ver with those instruments in which the reading takes place only at a circular point or in which the reading points in the circle have the same direction of division.
The invention, however, enables the compensation of the standing axis skew in all instru ments, regardless of whether these make the circle to be read have the same or opposite division sense.
The object of the invention is a device for the automatic compensation of the influence of the vertical axis skew, which causes errors in height angle measurements, on surveying instruments, in which diametrically opposite circular locations are used for the circular reading to eliminate eccentricity errors, which are mapped by optical means in the field of view of the reading microscope, which is characterized by
that the optical system which images one circular point onto the other circular point has a compensation element which automatically adjusts itself to a defined position relative to the perpendicular under the action of gravity.
In Figs. 1 to 4 of the drawing, the task that the device according to the invention has to meet is illustrated schematically for two cases, and in Figs. 5 to 10 are six Ausfüh approximately examples of the device for automatic compensation of the error in elevation angle measurements The causative influence of the vertical axis skewness on surveying instruments according to the invention is shown schematically, in all cases only that part of the imaging beam path is shown which images the first circular point on the second circular point diametrically opposite it,
and all parts not required for explaining the invention are not shown.
In Fig. 1, a theodolite is shown in which the reading is vorgenom men at two diametrically opposite circular points of the height circle. The height circle can either have a single division or two concentric divisions according to the double circle system. The height circle 1 is firmly connected to the telescope 2. The target axis 3 is directed horizontally.
The Alhidden axis or the standing axis 4 is perpendicular to the horizon 5 in FIG. 1. The only schematically illustrated intermediate imaging optics 6 depicts the part line 7 on the diametrically opposite circular point 7 . The image 7 'then lies next to the division B located at the second circular point. The sense of division 12 (arrow in Fig. 1) of the circular reading position having the division 8 and the image 7' of the circular reading position having the division 7 is in the same direction.
By the only schematically presented optics 9 of the reading microscope, the image 7 'and the graduation 8 are shown together as images 7 "and 8' on the face field diaphragm 10 of the reading microscope, not shown, fixed on the theodolite, in which the support is fixed Reading index 11 be found (Fig. 1a).
According to FIG. 2, the instrument, i.e. the theodolite in the assumed case, is tilted so that the vertical axis 4 is no longer perpendicular to the hori zont 5, and the telescope 2 is tilted about the tilting axis so that the sighting axis 3 nevertheless remains horizontal. If the instrument does not have a compensation device, an image according to FIG. 2a results in the face field diaphragm 10. The circle reading no longer corresponds to that of Fig. La, although the target axis 3 has the same height angle or is horizontal.
A device arranged between the first and the second circular reading point to compensate for the error-causing influence of the vertical axis skew v must cause, as can be seen from Fig. 2b, the image 7 "shifts in such a way that the images 8 'and 7" again symmetrically to the reading index 11 lie conditions as in Fig. la, d. H. that the reading is the same again.
This is the case when the compensation device causes the image 7 'in the sense of direction 13 (arrow in Fig. 2), which depends on the sense of direction of the vertical axis skew v, to be inserted as an arc by the amount 2r v, v, displaced if r is the division radius.
In Fig. 3 an instrument similar to that in Fig. 1 is shown. The circular reading system differs only in that the graduation 14 is mapped onto the second circular reading point in such a way that the division direction 16 (arrow in FIG. 3) of the image 14 ′ is opposite to the division direction 17 (arrow in FIG. 3) the division having the division 15 located at the second circular reading point.
This is brought about by a roof prism 18, for example. In this arrangement, the function of the reading index is taken over by the optical axis of the reading optics between the first and the second circular reading point. The reading image according to FIG. 3a results in the field stop 10.
This instrument is now tilted according to FIG. 4 so that the standing axis is no longer perpendicular to the horizon, and the telescope is tilted around the tilting axis so that the sighting axis nevertheless remains horizontal.
If this instrument does not have a compensation device, the reading image according to FIG. 4a results in the field stop, in which the image 14 ″ of the division 14 of the first circular reading point no longer coincides with the image 15 ′ of the division 15 of the second circular reading point.
A device arranged between the first circular reading point and the second circular reading point to compensate for the influence of the vertical axis obliquity v causing the error must be such that the image 14 "of the graduation 14 of the first circular reading point - as can be seen from Fig. 4b - is shifted in such a way ,
that the images 15 'of the graduation 15 of the second circular reading point and 14 "of the graduation 14 of the first circular reading point in the field stop coincide again as in FIG. 3a, so that the same circular reading results again.
This is achieved when the aforementioned compensation device causes the image 14 'of the graduation 14 of the first circular reading point in the direction 19 (arrow in Fig. 4), which depends on the direction of the vertical axis inclination; - by the amount of 2r) "v inserted as an arc, displaced if r is the division radius.
These objects are achieved as follows: In Fig. 5 of the instrument in question only the height circle 21 is shown, which carries a circle division 22 with the division radius r or two concentric circle divisions. A section of the first circular reading point A is provided by an optical system which consists of four prisms 23, 24, 28 and 29, of which the prisms 23 and 29 are roof prisms, a mirror 26 and an objective 25, which is designed in two parts and between its ends where the mirror 26 is located, is mapped to the second circular reading point B, in the manner
that when turning the height circle 21 the images of the two circle reading points A and B shift in opposite directions. The two members of the lens 25 each have a focal length which corresponds to the radius r of the circular division 22. The beam path is parallel between the two members of the objective 25. The mirror 26 is suspended at 30 practically without friction, so that its position with respect to the perpendicular is independent of the vertical axis inclination j of the instrument.
This optical system causes the image of circular reading point A on circular reading point B to be displaced by the desired amount of 2r v in the desired direction.
The optical system shown in FIG. 6 for mapping the circle reading point A onto the circle reading point B also consists of four prisms 33, 34, 38 and 39, of which the prisms 33 and 39 are roof prisms, a mirror 36 suspended at 40 with practically no friction and an objective 35, and it differs from the reading system according to FIG. 5 in that the mirror is arranged in the convergent beam path, that is between the objective 35 and the circular reading point B.
So that the requirement that the image of circular reading point A in circular reading point B is displaced by the amount of 21-v is fulfilled, the optical path from mirror 36 to circular reading point B must equal the division radius r be.
If the compensation devices according to FIG. 5 and according to FIG. 6 are to be used on instruments with uniformly running divisions, a prism without a roof must be used instead of the roof prism 29 or 39.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 7, an instru ment is assumed whose height circle 41 carries counter-rotating divisions and in which the illustration of the circle reading point A on the circle reading point B by means of two prisms 42 and 43 and a lens 44 arranged between these takes place.
To get the required compensation, i. H. To achieve the shift of the image of the circular reading point A in the circular defection point B by the amount of 21- v in the direction dependent on the direction of the vertical axis oblique v, that is Objective 44 suspended pendulum practically without friction at 45, whereby the effective pendulum length must be equal to the radius r of the circular divisions.
In FIG. 8, an imaging system similar to the imaging system according to FIG. 7 is shown, which differs from this in that instead of the simple lens 44, an lens consisting of two members 54a and 54b, between which the beam path is parallel, is provided , which is arranged between the prisms 52 and 53.
To compensate for the error-causing influence of the vertical axis inclination of the instrument, only the link 54b is suspended pendulum practically without friction at 55, whereby to achieve the necessary shifting of the image of the circular reading point A in the circular reading point B by the amount of < I> 2r v the effective pendulum length equal to the pitch diameter, i.e. H. 2r must be.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 9, the education system from which the circular reading point A maps onto the circular reading point B consists of two prisms 62 and 63 and two lenses 65a and 65b. In contrast to the embodiment according to FIG. 8, the first objective 65a generates an intermediate image of the circular reading point A at C, and this intermediate image is then imaged onto the circular reading point B through the second objective 65b.
To compensate for the error-causing influence of the standing axis inclination v , the second objective 65b is suspended pendulum practically without friction. At 1: 1 magnification for both objectives 65a and 65b, the required shift of the image of the circular reading point A on the circular reading point B by the amount of 2r7 in the To obtain a direction that is oblique v dependent on the direction of the vertical axes, the effective pendulum length of the lens 65b must be equal to the pitch radius r.
The necessary pendulum length can be changed by changing the enlargement ratio between the intermediate image and the circular reading points A and B .
If the imaging system according to FIG. 9 is to be used for instruments with parallel pitches, the prism 63 must have a roof.
In the embodiments according to FIGS. 5 and 6, a liquid surface or a liquid prism can also be used as a compensator instead of a mirror 26 or 36 suspended in a pendulous manner. Such a compensation device with a liquid wedge 66 is shown schematically in FIG. 10, for example.
