Slot insulation for the conductor bars of an electrical machine The insulation of the conductors lying in the grooves of electrical machines operated with high voltage is usually produced by wrapping the conductors with mica paper in such a way that this wrapping is made into a tight, closed insulating sleeve using a thermoplastic adhesive is united.
For the quality of such a sleeve in terms of its dielectric strength, it is known that no air inclusions are present in the dielectric of the sleeve created in this way, since glow discharges can arise in these at high electrical field strengths, which are caused by an increased loss angle in the displacement current and can lead to destruction of the dielectric over time. The curing of the adhesive is therefore carried out under strong pressure with simultaneous exposure to heat.
In order to prevent the occurrence of glow discharges between the insulating sleeve and the groove wall, a coat of semi-insulating varnish, that is to say an electrically conductive material containing insulating varnish, is also applied to the outer wall of the insulating sleeve as a so-called external corona protection.
In spite of these measures, it can happen that the individual layers of the insulating sleeve separate from one another in places, especially on the broad sides of the conductor bars, after long periods of storage or prolonged operation, so that small air spaces arise through which the loss angle (tg8) of the Displacement current flowing through the insulating sleeve and thus the quality of the insulation deteriorates over time.
The aim of the invention is to prevent this phenomenon from filling the gaps between the insulating sleeve and the groove wall, which are always a few tenths of a millimeter, in such a way that the layers of the insulating sleeve become detached, i.e. they become thicker, is prevented.
It is already known to fill these spaces with semi-conductive silicone rubber which is firmly connected on the one hand to the insulating sleeve and on the other hand to the wall of the groove. This known Ver drive, the rest of the time serves a different purpose, has the disadvantage that removing the conductor rods from the grooves, which can occasionally be necessary for repairs, is hardly possible without damaging the insulating sleeves. In addition, it is to be feared that the conductor bars cannot move freely enough in the axial direction in the case of different thermal expansion of the iron core and the conductor bars, which can be several millimeters in large machines.
In contrast to this known arrangement, the invention provides an insulation for the conductor bars lying in the grooves of the iron body of electrical machines operated with high voltage, in which there is a slot insert between the closed insulating sleeve of the conductor bar and the groove wall, which consists of two thin, semi-insulating foils, one of which rests against the insulating sleeve and the other against the wall of the groove, and one between the foils introduced and also semisolar cured filling compound.
The inventive production of such a slot insulation takes place in such a way that the slot of the iron body is lined with graphitized paper and the insulating sleeve is wrapped with paper of this type and that the two graphitized papers are coated with a hardenable, semi-insulating compound and then the Lei terstab is inserted into the groove.
The space between the insulating sleeve and the groove wall is expediently completely filled, with any excess filling material at the groove opening swelling out and being able to be removed.
After the filling compound has hardened, the rod with the insulating sleeve is secured in its position by the groove lining obtained in such a way that the subsequent creation of air spaces in the insulating sleeve is no longer possible. Nevertheless, the rod can slide in the groove lining so that the rod can follow different thermal expansions compared to the iron.
As a filler, a mixture of liquid ethoxylin resin with graphite powder can be used which has sufficient conductivity to be able to derive the displacement currents flowing through the insulating sleeve to the iron body.
In the figure, a conductor insulation according to the invention is shown for example. 1 denotes the conductor bar made up of insulated partial conductors, which is surrounded by a closed insulating sleeve 2 of the aforementioned type. With 3 the adjacent to the insulating sleeve and with 5 the adjacent to the groove wall, semi-insulating film be distinguished. The space 4 between the two is filled with semi-insulating, hardened filling compound. The applicability of the invention is not necessarily limited to machines with open grooves, but also possible with semi-closed grooves.
