Cendrier La présente invention a pour objet un cendrier comprenant un réservoir d'accumulation des cendres.
Ce cendrier est caractérisé par le fait qu'il com prend un corps creux constituant ledit réservoir et comprenant deux parties symétriques fixées l'une à l'autre pour former les parois latérales du réservoir et un fond coulissant engagé avec ces deux parties, deux godets pour les cendres ayant chacun la forme d'un quart de cylindre, logés côte à côte dans la bouche du réservoir de manière à la fermer com plètement et montés de façon à pouvoir être bas culés pour décharger leur contenu dans le réservoir et à revenir dans leur position initiale sous l'action de leur poids, et une traverse disposée dans l'ouver ture des godets et dont l'axe se trouve dans le plan de raccordement des deux parties du corps creux.
Le dessin annexé montre, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution du cendrier objet de l'invention. La fig. 1 est une vue en élévation d'un cendrier, la moitié de droite représentant une coupe selon la ligne I-I de la fig. 2.
La fig. 2 est une vue en plan de ce cendrier, et la fig. 3, une vue en coupe selon la ligne III-III de la fig. 2.
Le cendrier représenté comprend un corps creux en deux parties symétriques 1 formant, ensemble et avec un fond amovible 2, un récipient parallélépi pédique destiné à servir de réservoir d'accumulation des cendres et des bouts de cigares et de cigarettes fumés. Ces deux parties 1 sont assemblées à l'aide de goujons 3 forcés dans des trous ménagés dans l'épaisseur des parois latérales de ces parties.
Le fond 2 est engagé de manière à pouvoir cou lisser à frottement gras dans des rainures 4 prévues à la base desdites parois latérales. Ce fond présente à l'une de ses extrémités une saillie 2a qui, venant buter contre l'une ou l'autre des parois d'extrémité 1a des parties 1, limite la course du fond 2 et déter mine la position de fermeture et la position d'ouver ture complète de ce fond.
La bouche du réservoir est fermée par deux godets basculants 5 et C, dans lesquels on dépose les cendres. Ces deux godets ont la forme d'un quart de cylindre et sont disposés côte à côte de manière à former un réceptacle demi-cylindrique (fig. 3). Les faces extrêmes 5a et 6a de ces godets sont munies chacune d'un pivot 8. Ces pivots sont engagés cha cun dans une rainure 7 présentée à l'intérieur par les parois latérales 1b des parties 1. La position des pivots 8 est choisie de façon que les godets soient appliqués l'un contre l'autre par leur poids propre.
Les parois extrêmes 5a et 6a des godets ont la forme d'un secteur de 90o dont le sommet est arrondi en arc de cercle 9 ayant son centre sur l'axe des pivots 8. Lorsque l'on veut déverser dans le réservoir. les cendres et les bouts fumés contenus dans les godets, il suffit de saisir entre le pouce et l'index d'une main les bords supérieurs épaissis des deux godets, qui apparaissent à travers une échancrure<B>le</B> des parois la, en exerçant un léger effort de serrage. Les godets tournent alors ensemble, l'un dans un sens, l'autre dans le sens opposé, autour de leurs pivots et leur contenu les quitte par gravité.
Pendant ce mouve ment, les bords 9 roulent l'un sur l'autre. On relâ che ensuite les godets, qui reviennent dans leur posi tion de repos dans laquelle ils ferment la bouche du réservoir.
Le cendrier est complété par une traverse 10 parallèle aux axes de rotation des godets, constituée par une barrette plate présentant à chaque extrémité un nez 13, ces nez prenant place dans deux rainures ménagées dans la face intérieure des parois 1b et présentant au centre une douille 14 s'étendant vers le bas et jouant le rôle d'éteignoir. Le bord inférieur de la douille présënte la même courbure que celle des godets 5 et 6 et est séparé de ceux-ci par un espace suffisant pour assurer le libre jeu des godets.
La traverse présente, de part et d'autre de cette douille, une ouverture rectangulaire 15, et au droit des ouvertures 15, des encoches 12 pour l'appui des cigarettes ou des cigares. Ces encoches sont en ali gnement avec des encoches analogues 11 prévues dans les bords épaissis des godets 5 et 6.
Comme on le voit, toutes les parties du cendrier sont assemblées entre elles sans l'aide d'organes d'as semblage (à part les goujons 3 réunissant les deux moitiés 1) et sans pouvoir se séparer l'une de l'autre. Le montage du cendrier est de ce fait simple et rapide.
Les quatre faces extérieures du cendrier assem blées présentent une surface en creux 1d, sur laquelle on pourra coller des textes publicitaires par exemple.
Les godets et la traverse seront faits de préfé rence en acier inoxydable ou en laiton fortement chromé et seront suffisamment épais pour avoir une bonne rigidité.
Le récipient formant réservoir pourra être en métal, par exemple en alliage léger coloré électroly- tiquement, ou en matière synthétique moulée rigide.
Ashtray The present invention relates to an ashtray comprising an ash accumulation tank.
This ashtray is characterized in that it comprises a hollow body constituting said reservoir and comprising two symmetrical parts fixed to one another to form the side walls of the reservoir and a sliding bottom engaged with these two parts, two buckets. for the ashes, each having the shape of a quarter cylinder, housed side by side in the mouth of the reservoir so as to close it completely and mounted so that they can be bottomed to discharge their contents into the reservoir and return to their initial position under the action of their weight, and a crosspiece arranged in the opening of the buckets and the axis of which is in the plane of connection of the two parts of the hollow body.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the ashtray which is the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is an elevational view of an ashtray, the right half showing a section along the line I-I of FIG. 2.
Fig. 2 is a plan view of this ashtray, and FIG. 3, a sectional view along the line III-III of FIG. 2.
The ashtray shown comprises a hollow body in two symmetrical parts 1 forming, together and with a removable bottom 2, a parallelepiped container intended to serve as a reservoir for the accumulation of ashes and the ends of cigars and smoked cigarettes. These two parts 1 are assembled using studs 3 forced into holes made in the thickness of the side walls of these parts.
The bottom 2 is engaged so as to be able to smooth with greasy friction in grooves 4 provided at the base of said side walls. This bottom has at one of its ends a projection 2a which, abutting against one or the other of the end walls 1a of the parts 1, limits the travel of the bottom 2 and determines the closed position and the full opening position of this bottom.
The mouth of the tank is closed by two tilting buckets 5 and C, in which the ashes are deposited. These two cups have the shape of a quarter cylinder and are arranged side by side so as to form a semi-cylindrical receptacle (fig. 3). The end faces 5a and 6a of these buckets are each provided with a pivot 8. These pivots are each engaged in a groove 7 presented inside by the side walls 1b of the parts 1. The position of the pivots 8 is chosen from so that the buckets are pressed against each other by their own weight.
The end walls 5a and 6a of the buckets have the shape of a 90o sector, the apex of which is rounded in an arc of a circle 9 having its center on the axis of the pivots 8. When it is desired to pour into the reservoir. the ashes and smoked tips contained in the cups, it suffices to grasp between the thumb and forefinger of one hand the thickened upper edges of the two cups, which appear through a notch <B> the </B> in the walls la, by exerting a slight tightening force. The buckets then rotate together, one in one direction, the other in the opposite direction, around their pivots and their contents leave them by gravity.
During this movement, the edges 9 roll over one another. The buckets are then released, which return to their rest position in which they close the mouth of the reservoir.
The ashtray is completed by a cross member 10 parallel to the axes of rotation of the buckets, constituted by a flat bar having a nose 13 at each end, these noses taking place in two grooves made in the inner face of the walls 1b and having a socket in the center. 14 extending downward and acting as a snuffer. The lower edge of the sleeve presents the same curvature as that of the cups 5 and 6 and is separated therefrom by sufficient space to ensure the free play of the cups.
The cross member has, on either side of this socket, a rectangular opening 15, and in line with the openings 15, notches 12 for supporting cigarettes or cigars. These notches are in alignment with similar notches 11 provided in the thickened edges of the cups 5 and 6.
As can be seen, all the parts of the ashtray are assembled together without the aid of assembly members (apart from the studs 3 joining the two halves 1) and without being able to separate from one another. Fitting the ashtray is therefore quick and easy.
The four outer faces of the assembled ashtray have a recessed surface 1d on which advertising texts can be glued, for example.
The buckets and crosshead shall preferably be made of stainless steel or heavy chrome plated brass and shall be thick enough to have good rigidity.
The container forming the reservoir may be made of metal, for example of an electrolytically colored light alloy, or of rigid molded synthetic material.
