Additional patent to main patent No. 367678 Gate valve for pipelines The claim of the main patent relates to a gate valve for pipelines, in particular supply lines of larger diameter, with rubber-elastic sealing bodies which effect the actual seal and which are applied to the closing body, the closing body being trapezoidal at the bottom rounded plate is formed,
wherein a rubber-elastic sealing body surrounds the closing body in its lower area on its peripheral surface and interacts with the associated opposite surfaces of the pipe res and the valve housing in the direction of the pressure exerted by the spindle in the axial direction and wherein between the upper area of the closing body and one of the sem associated, with the spindle konwir kenden pressure piece another rubber-elastic sealing body is arranged, which cooperates with the associated opposite surfaces of the Ge housing in the direction perpendicular to the pressure direction of the spindle.
With this gate valve, a whole range of individual problems, which were more or less well solved in the past, can be supplied to a satisfactory overall solution, whereby it was particularly important to create a smooth, tubular passage for the flow medium, i.e. the avoiding the usual slider bag and guiding the closing body in front of the sealing surfaces during the stroke movement with little friction between the elastic sealing material and the housing parts,
at the same time to ensure a perfect closure of the flow cross-section from the valve housing in the closed position of the valve.
In the gate valves described in the main patent, it was now necessary, since these were especially intended for supply lines with larger diameters, to assemble the valve body from various individual parts in turn releasable connection later if necessary.
This slider body consists of the actual closing body, on which the elastic sealing body for sealing the pipe cross-section is attached below and to the side, as well as a pressure piece that is still provided and the additional sealing ring plate provided between the top of the closing body and the pressure piece, whereby the end piece, Pressure piece and sealing ring plate are connected by screw bolts.
It has now been shown that such a gate valve can be significantly simplified in that the sealing body is designed in a manner known per se as the only rubber part connecting the closing body and the pressure piece. In order to achieve a perfect seal in the area between the support wall and the spindle housing, it is, according to the invention, the part of the rubber part that makes up the area of the sealing body between the closing body and the pressure piece, which is pressed together by the pressure exerted by the pressure piece,
a ring with a square or approximately quadratic cross-sectional shape.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically.
Fig. 1 shows the inventive shut-off valve in a longitudinal section, and in Figure 2, the slide is shown in cross section, each based on the axis of the pipe to be shut off.
The pipeline 1 has a laterally continuing housing 2 for receiving the slide closure body and 3 of the spindle 13. The closure body 3 has lateral guide ribs 5 which are guided in guide slots 6 of the housing 2 with little play. Furthermore, a pressure piece 10 is provided with which the spindle 13 cooperates. To enable the spindle 13 to move freely downward, the closing body is provided with a central recess 15.
The end body 3 and pressure piece 10 are held together by a rubber part 16 vulcanized onto both parts, which is essentially trapezoidal and is rounded in its lower part 17, following the curve of the tube 1, as is the end body 3. Between's closing body 3 and pressure piece 10 is a portion 18 of the rubber part 16, which is a ring of square cross-section.
In the area of this ring, the entire slide body consists only of rubber.
When the spindle 13 is actuated, ie when the gate valve is closed, the pressure piece 10, the closing body 3 and the rubber part 16 connecting the closing body 3 and the pressure piece 10 are moved downward as a whole.
When closing the outer walls of the rubber part 16, after the actual closed position has been reached, as the spindle continues to rotate, the opposite surfaces of the tube 1 or the spindle housing 2 assigned to them come into contact with the lower part 17 and the lateral areas of the rubber part 16 and the part 18 seals the flow against the spindle housing.
When releasing the .Spindel the elastic cal compression of the rubber part 16 is canceled. Only when its surfaces have become detached from the opposing surfaces is the slide body consisting of the closing body 3, pressure piece 10 and rubber part 16 moved upwards.
In addition to the advantages achieved with the gate valve according to the main patent, this results in the particular advantage of simple installation and removal of the valve body and, furthermore, a particularly simple and thus inexpensive manufacturing option for the valve body, especially when it comes to mass production that yes, especially with gate valves for smaller flow cross-sections.
