Compressed air breathing apparatus with display of the state of consumption The invention relates to a compressed air breathing apparatus. These devices have one or more pressurized cylinders filled with compressed air up to 200 atü, from which the air z. B. via a pressure reducer to a dosing device, ie a lung-controlled valve, and from there via a breathing hose to the face connector, mouthpiece or respirator of the device wearer.
The air exhaled by the device wearer is expelled into the open through the exhalation valve. Such devices can be used as gas diving devices and also as water diving devices. To monitor the state of consumption of the compressed air, a pressure gauge is connected to each device, which shows the pressure in the bottles. It can happen, however, that the person wearing the device overlooks the control of the pressure gauge when he is busy working.
In this case, it is desirable that the wearer is alerted to the near end of his air supply in the bottles by a special device. In previously known devices, various such devices are known that serve the wearer as a withdrawal warning. In some known devices there is an acoustic signaling device which, for example, consists of a whistle, by means of which a warning tone is generated at a certain residual pressure in the bottles, which sounds during the entire remaining period of use of the device.
In another known type of device, instead of an acoustic warning device, there is a device through which an additional breathing resistance is generated at a certain residual pressure in the compressed air reservoirs that a spring-loaded valve influenced by the compressed air pressure closes a small amount, so that a Throttling of the compressed air supply occurs, which is perceived by the device user as breathing resistance. The signaling devices of both types were housed with their accessories in the high-pressure distribution piece of known devices.
Corresponding . The peculiarity of both signaling devices was that the breathing apparatus themselves were of a type that only permitted the use of one or the other signaling device.
But since the two signaling devices for certain uses of the device have certain disadvantages - the acoustic signaling device is not suitable, for example, when used for water divers - there is the task of creating a device in which you can both the acoustic warning device and the Can attach resistance warning device as required.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in such a way that the pressure distribution piece of the device has an outwardly extending connection piece into which the signaling device of the two types can be screwed interchangeably as a self-contained component.
This possibility is advantageously created in that the valve which closes the signaling device and releases it at a certain residual pressure, together with its loading spring, is housed in a housing that can be screwed in like a cartridge from the outside of the pressure distribution piece.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown and shown in which way the signaling devices on the device can be brought to optionally. 1 shows a compressed air breathing apparatus seen in the direction of the device wearer. With this device, a resistance warning device is installed in the device. 2 shows the same device seen from the side, the only difference being that the one bottle is removed so that the pressure distribution piece can be recognized with an acoustic warning signal device (warning whistle) screwed onto it.
3 and 4 show longitudinal sections in an enlarged representation through the pressure distribution piece of the device. A resistance warning device is used in FIG. 3, an acoustic warning device in FIG. 4.
The compressed air containing pressure bottles 1 and 2 are connected to the screw connections 3 and 4 with the pressure distribution piece 5 of the device. From there, a line 6 leads to a pressure reducer 7. The compressed air set from high pressure to a working pressure is fed to the metering device 8, a lung-controlled valve, then a breathing tube 9 and from there into the face connector of the device wearer, i.e. the Breathing mask.
The line guides can be seen from the sectional drawing in FIG. 3 and it can be seen that the high-pressure bore 10 coming from the bottles leads via a bore 11 to an outwardly directed connector 12. The line 6 to the pressure reducer 7 branches off from the base of this connecting piece. The bore 11 ends in the base of the nozzle in a valve crater 13. A resistance warning device is designed as a self-contained component, screwed into the nozzle 12, which carries a sealing ring 14 on a sealing surface.
This warning device has a patro nenartiges housing 15 in which a closure piece 16 is guided, the sealing plug 17 on the valve crater 13 sits. A loading spring 18, which is matched to a predetermined residual pressure and is supported against the bottom 19 of the cartridge-like housing 15, lies in a cavity in the closure piece 16. From the horizontal bore 10 directed vertically downward a bore 20 goes off, which ends as a sealing crater 21 in a cavity equipped with a thread. From the bottom of this threaded cavity, a drilling 22 goes into the bottom of the nozzle 12.
In the thread of the cavity a provided with an internal thread sleeve 23 is screwed and holds a sealing against the valve crater 21 membrane 24 sealed with its edge. A pressure screw 25 inserted into the threaded sleeve 23 is suitable for pressing a transmission piece 26 against the membrane 24 and the crater 21. The pressure screw 25 is actuated with a lever 27.
The function of the resistance warner described is as follows: Up to a certain residual pressure in the bottles 1 and 2, the high pressure entering the nozzle 12 through the bores 10 and 11 is sufficient to lift the locking piece 16 standing under load of the spring 18, so that the compressed air can pass unhindered into the pressure reducer 7 and from there to the lung-controlled valve 8 and to the breathing mask. If the high pressure is reduced to an adjustable size, the spring 18, then the closure piece 16 approaches the sealing crater 13 and dros selt the supply of the high pressure flow to the pressure reducer 7 from. The device wearer perceives this as additional breathing resistance.
Since this breathing resistance could, under certain circumstances, make his retreat more difficult, the attachment of the valve 21, 24 ensures that he can switch off the breathing resistance already felt by opening this valve. When the previously closed valve is actuated by means of the lever 27, the compressed air now flows through the bores 20 and 22 into the base of the connector 12 and from there into the line 6 to the pressure reducer 7.
Fig. 4 shows the case in which the resistance warner is exchanged for an acoustic warning signal device. This also has a cartridge-like housing 28 which is screwed into the socket 12 by means of a thread and is sealed by the sealing ring 14 abge. One end of the housing 28 has a valve-like passage 29 in its bottom and approximately in its center a valve seat 30 directed against the flow. At the other end of the housing 28, the warning whistle 31 is attached. In the space of the housing 28 between the valve-like passage 29 and the valve 30, a closure piece 32 is inserted, which is loaded by the spring 34 via a pressure pin 33 penetrating the valve 30.
The closure piece 32 guided in the housing 28 has on one end face a sealing plug 35 directed towards the passage 29 and on the other end face a sealing plug 36 which seals on the valve seat 30.
The function of the device is as follows: If the compressed air high pressure is sufficient for breathing, it presses on the closure piece 32 via the passage 29 and keeps the valve 30 closed against the pressure of the spring 34. If the high pressure drops to a value that can be set by the spring 34, the valve 30 opens, and part of the high pressure can reach the pipe 31 via the valve-like passage 29, past the closure body 32, through the valve 30, where it opens Whistling sound is generated, which indicates the approaching exhaustion to the device user
