On a donc BC = BE et DC = DE (fig. 1).

Watch caliber The present invention relates to a watch caliber, intended to be used for movements with a second hand in the center or for movements with an ordinary second hand, a caliber in which the axis of the mobile medium and that of the escape mobile are each at an equal distance from the axes of the two second mobile.
Numerous constructions of the aforementioned type have already been proposed. In these known calibers, the toothing of the barrel always meshes with a pinion placed in the center of the movement, this pinion possibly being a large average pinion or a simple reference. As a result, the calibers in question are complicated and require superimpositions of the gear wheels, so that the total height of the movement is increased accordingly.
The invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks, by the fact that the toothing of the barrel meshes with an eccentric large average pinion whose wheel actuates the small average mobile and, from there, as desired, a second mobile in the center or ordinary second, the second mobile in turn actuating the escape mobile, the axis of the large average not coinciding with any of the axes of the other mobile, which avoids any superimposition of the wheels of the gear train and reduces the height caliber.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the watch caliber forming the subject of the invention. Only what is necessary for understanding the invention has been shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 is a schematic plan view of the first embodiment, with the second in the center. Fig. 2 is a section taken along line H-11 of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a schematic plan view of the second embodiment, with ordinary second.
Figs. 4 and 5 are sections respectively along lines IV-IV and V-V of FIG. 3.
The barrel 1 of the first embodiment (fig. 1 and 2) has a set of teeth 2 which meshes with an eccentric large medium pinion 3, the wheel 4 of which is engaged with the small medium pinion 5. The small medium wheel medium 6, wedged on the shaft of pinion 5, meshes with a second gear in the center 7, the shaft 8 of which carries a second hand in the center, not shown. The second wheel in the center 9, wedged on the shaft 8, is engaged with the exhaust pinion 10, the wheel 11 of which acts on the fork 12. The second in the center is therefore a direct second. The large medium mobiles 3, 4 and small medium 5, 6 are both pivoted, on the one hand, in the plate 13 and, on the other hand, in the gear bridge 14.
The central second shaft 8 is pivoted, on the one hand, in a plug 15 driven into a socket 16 fixed to the plate 13 and, on the other hand, in the gear bridge 14. The exhaust mobile 10 11 is pivoted in the plate 13 and in the gear bridge 14. Finally, the fork 12 is pivoted in the plate 13 and in a bar 17. We can see at 18 a part of the balance and at 19 a part of the spring. The barrel ratchet is designated by 20 and the crown wheel by 21.
A plate 22, having the shape of a quadrilateral with rounded corners, is housed in a recess of the gear train bridge 14 and is fixed to the latter by means of a screw 23. The plate 22 carries four counterpivots 24 to 27 whose the first three contribute respectively to the pivoting of the small medium mobile 5, 6, the second in the center 7, 9 and the exhaust 10, 11. The counter-pivot 27 is not used

in this embodiment and is intended to receive an ordinary second mobile if the second in the center is removed, as described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5.
It will be noted that the axis B of the small average mobile 5, 6 and that D of the escape mobile 10, 11 are each at an equal distance from the axes of the two second wheels, that is to say from the axis central C and axis E of the second ordinary. We therefore have BC = BE and DC = DE (fig. 1). The axis A of the large average mobile 3, 4 is distinct from the other axes B, C, D and E, so that the line A-B-C-D of the fia. 1, marking the path of the force transmitted from the large average to the escapement, is a single broken line, without cusps.
On the shaft of the large-medium pinion 3 is adjusted with a high friction, by means of a wire spring 28, a return 29 which meshes with the timer wheel 30. The latter is engaged with the roadway 31 mounted freely on the socket 16, while the pinion 32 of the wheel 30 meshes with the hour wheel 33. The carriageway 31 carries the minute hand (not shown) and the hour wheel 33 the hour hand (also not shown ).
The second embodiment (fig. 3 to 5) differs from the first only in that the second in the center is omitted and is replaced by an ordinary second, eccentric. To facilitate understanding of the drawing, the same reference signs have been used as in FIGS. 1 and 2 for the corresponding parts.
The small-medium wheel 6 meshes with an ordinary second pinion 34 whose shaft 35 carries an ordinary second hand, not shown. The second wheel 36, wedged on the shaft 35, is engaged with the exhaust pinion 10, the wheel 11 of which acts on the fork 12. The shaft 35 is pivoted in the plate 13 and in the gear bridge 14 and its upper pivot abuts against the counter-pivot 27, of axis E.
As in the first embodiment, the axes B, C, D and E are arranged in such a way that BC = BE and DC = DE (fig. 3). The axis A of the large average mobile 3, 4 is distinct from the other axes B, C, D and E, so that the line ABED (fig. 3), marking the path of the force transmitted from the large average to the 'exhaust, is a single broken line, without cusp. Thus, in both embodiments, any superposition of the wheels of the gear train is avoided, which makes it possible to reduce the height of the movement.
The plate 22 may be provided with three counter-pivots only, namely 24, 26 and 25 or 24, 26 and 27, depending on whether the caliber is fitted with a central second or an ordinary second.
