Device on a toilet bowl for fastening a seat ring or toilet lid The invention relates to a device on a toilet bowl for fastening a seat ring or toilet lid, which device has a bent rod at right angles, the horizontal, circular cylindrical leg of which is mounted in a bore in the seat ring or lid. A known fastening device of this type has the disadvantage, under certain circumstances, to prevent rapid dismantling of the seat ring or the like, which is necessary for replacement or repair.
The invention overcomes this disadvantage in that the vertical leg of the bent rod is slidably inserted into a bore of a first socket which passes through a hole in an edge part of the toilet bowl and is fastened to the same, and that a pinch ring and a second on this vertical leg Socket are displaceable, which second socket can be screwed into the first socket, so that by tightening the same the squeeze ring between a seat provided in the first socket and the end face of the two th socket is deformed and thereby clamps the vertical leg.
In the single figure of the drawing, an exemplary embodiment from the subject of the invention is shown in section.
In the rear edge part of a toilet bowl 1, two through holes 2 are usually seen before, of which only one is provided in the drawing. These two holes are used to bring two fasteners for a seat ring 3, which is to be attached to the toilet bowl 1 hinged.
The fastening device shown has a round rod 4 bent at right angles, the horizontal leg 5 of which is rotatably mounted in a bore 6 of the seat ring 3. The vertical leg 7 of the round rod 4 is slidably inserted into the longitudinal bore 8 of a first socket 9, which is seen in its lower part with an external thread 10 ver. The socket 9 is inserted in the hole 2 and is held at the top by a head 11 on the toilet bowl 1, while it is held on the toilet bowl 1 by a nut 12 seated on its external thread 10 with an elastic washer 13 in between.
In its upper part, the socket 9 has an internal thread 14 which merges at the bottom via a conical surface 15 into the longitudinal bore 8, the diameter of which is smaller than that of the internal thread. The conical surface 15 forms the seat for a squeeze ring 16, on which the lower end face of a second bushing 17 presses, which is screwed into the internal thread 14 of the bushing 9 and through the bore 18 of the vertical rod leg 7 is inserted through. At the top, the socket 17 is provided with a polygon 19 which is used to attach a key.
The device shown is used as follows: Before the toilet bowl 1 has been mounted in place, e.g. B. when shipping from the factory, the socket 11 with the nut 12 and the seal 13 is attached to the toilet bowl 1. If now the seat ring 3 is to be attached to the toilet bowl 1, the leg 5 of the rod 4 is inserted into the bore 6, whereupon the leg 7 with an attached socket 17 and an attached clamping ring 16 is inserted into the bore 8 of the socket 9 ge.
The same is of course done with the other fastening device, and it goes without saying that the two bores 6 of the seat ring 3 are in alignment with one another and the two legs 5 form the pivot axis of the seat ring 3. The seat ring is now lowered so far that the small buffers present on it in the usual way rest on the edge of the toilet bowl.
Now, with each fastening device, the bush 17 is screwed into the internal thread 14 and pulled so tight that the squeeze ring 16 is deformed between the conical surface 15 and the lower end face of the bush 17 and consequently exerts a radially inward pressure on the leg 7 , By the pressure of the pinch ring 16 of the leg 7 is immovably connected to the sockets 9 and 17, whereby the seat ring 3 is fastened in the correct height on the toilet bowl be.
Compared to a known fastening device that was previously considered particularly practical, the device described has various advantages. In this known device there was also a round rod corresponding to the round rod 4 and bent at right angles. The vertical leg of this known round rod was but see with thread ver and on this thread two nuts were attached, which secured the vertical leg inserted through the hole 2 from above and from below on the toilet bowl 1 in its position, preferably as an intermediate layer of elastic washers.
If a seat ring fastened in this way to the toilet bowl 1 has to be removed for the purpose of repair or replacement, this is sometimes not possible without dismantling the toilet bowl itself. Because the point where the lower nut is located is inaccessible when the toilet bowl - as is particularly common recently - is mounted directly on the back wall of the toilet. In the device shown, it is sufficient to loosen the socket 17 in order to remove the pressure exerted by the pinch ring 16 and to be able to pull the leg 5 out of the bore 8 of the socket 9.
But even if the lower nut is accessible on the spot, it usually takes considerably more time to remove the seat ring and install a new seat ring with the known device than with the device shown. The seat rings are usually not exactly the same, so that you often have to adjust the two nuts of each of the two fastening devices for a long time until the correct height of the seat ring is finally set. In the device shown, on the other hand, it is sufficient to insert the legs 7 into the bores 8 and to tighten the bushings 17 in order to ensure correct assembly.
In addition, the bush 17 accessible from above is in any case easier to screw than the lower nut of the known device.
The same fastening device can of course also be used to fasten a toilet lid on the toilet bowl. The vertical leg 7 of the bent rod 4 need not necessarily be circular cylindrical, but this is much more practical in terms of manufacture and use than a prismatic shape.
