was vorzugsweise durch Abdrehen erfolgt.
Method for producing a hollow cylinder with a bottom by backward extrusion of a cylindrical metal block It is known when backward extrusion .eines metal block to form a hollow cylinder with a bottom,
to avoid poor mechanical properties in the lower cylinder part just above the base and in the base itself to provide the die base part with stepped recesses. The aim here is to achieve a cross-directional fiber flow in the lower and a parallel fiber flow along the bottom.
The aim of the present invention is to develop this fiber orientation at the corresponding points of the starting block for the extrusion in advance and to achieve this by extruding a part of the metal block at a compression rate of at least 9011/9 into a central rod deformed,
then the rod is separated from the block and this is pressed backwards to the desired hollow body, the end face of the block from which the rod was pressed is turned away from the press ram.
This process can be used for any warm or cold kneadable metal materials, but in particular for light metals and their alloys.
If a certain kneading of this whole metal block is desired before the backward extrusion, the remaining metal block can first be shaped by extrusion into a block with a smaller diameter after the rod has been separated and this can then be shaped into a hollow cylinder by backward extrusion.
An optimum with regard to the fiber run in the lower Zygin part and in the bottom of the hollow body is achieved by removing the parts on the end face and the adjacent block jacket that were not kneaded on the bottom edge zones during the extrusion before backward extrusion.,
which is preferably done by turning.
The processing of these edge zones can be omitted if the pressing tool is designed when the rod is pressed out so that its surface facing the block runs concentrically to the Ma trizen opening not at a right, but at an obtuse angle to the pressing direction ver.
The method according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. They show: FIGS. 1-3 each a longitudinal section through the essential parts of an extrusion press in a schematic representation during successive stages of the extrusion process, FIG. 4 shows the extruded product,
5 shows its reception in the die before the start of reverse extrusion, FIG. 6 shows a longitudinal section through the extrusion-molded hollow body.
Fig. 1 shows the pickup 1, the die 2 and: the ram 3 with the press bar 4. A rod 5 is pressed out of a block inserted in the pickup, with a block 6 with reduced volume remaining. The lines 7 indicate the course of the fibers in the block 6 after the rod 5 has been pressed out.
FIG. 2 illustrates the separation of the rod 5 from the block 6. The rod 5 is sheared off from the block 6 by lateral displacement of the die holder 8 with the die 2.
The remaining block 6 is then, as FIG. 3 shows, pressed out through a die 2 'to form a block 6' with a smaller diameter. The lines 7 'indicate the fiber orientation.
4 shows the block 6 'obtained in this way on a larger scale. The hatched areas 9 indicate the marginal zones that are not or only incompletely kneaded on the end face and on the adjacent casing of the block 6 '. The part of the block which is adjacent to the press disk 4 or press ram 3 and which can contain press holes is denoted by the hatched area 10. The parts of the block corresponding to the schraf fierte surfaces 9 and 10 are cut off, appropriately turned off.
The remaining block 6 "is now subjected to the reverse extrusion.
As indicated in FIG. 5, the block 6 ″ is placed in a joint 11. The material of the block 6 ″ is caused to flow backwards along the punch 12 by the press punch 12 or its head 13, whereby the in FLg. 6 shown on a larger scale. The fiber flow in the finished hollow body is indicated by the lines 14.
Exemplary embodiment A Stran.ggu@ssblock 1 m long and 440 mm in diameter made of an aluminum alloy with 4.7% copper, 0.71% magnesium, 0.79 0 / n silicon, 0.8511 / o Manganese, 0.1807e zinc, 0.3411 / e iron, remainder aluminum,
is subjected to a homogenization annealing and then deformed in the extruder at a temperature of 440 to 460 C and a compression ratio of about 95% until a round rod 2 m long and 100 mm in diameter is pressed (Fig. 1).
The round bar is then sheared off (Fig. 2) and then the die is replaced. The block of 440 mm diameter, reduced by about 10% of its original volume, is now pressed into a block of 358 mm diameter (Fig. 3)
and this cut to a length of 720 mm for the purpose of removing pinholes (Fig. 4). Now the non-kneaded edge zones on the front side and on the adjacent jacket of this block are turned at an angle of about 45 to the block jacket (Fig. 4) and the block is finally turned into a hollow body with a bottom (Fig 6) deformed with a wall thickness of 25 mm.
With an ideal fiber orientation in the lower part of the cylinder and the bottom of the hollow body, the cast structure has completely disappeared.
