Cooling arrangement on a turbo generator The invention relates to a cooling arrangement on a turbo generator, in which the rotor winding and the stator iron are cooled with a gas and the stator winding with a liquid.
This type of machine, which nowadays has to be built for very high capacities, has a considerable machine length, which also entails certain difficulties with regard to direct conductor cooling. It is therefore always endeavored to improve the dissipation of the lost heat by means of novel measures in such a way that rational and effective cooling is easily achieved even with very long rod conductors.
The purpose of the present cooling arrangement is thus to achieve a further improvement over the previous arrangements, and this is achieved according to the invention in that the cooling gas is fed to the stator iron in the center of the machine via radial slots in the latter in the direction from the outside inwards , then deflected in the axial direction through longitudinal channels in the stator iron to both end faces and exits through pressure plates at the ends of the stator iron into the two end spaces, from where the gas is sucked in by fans attached to the rotor shaft and conveyed back to the center of the machine via coolers.
In the drawing, a turbo generator in axial section is Darge as an embodiment of the invention.
The turbo generator consists essentially of the rotor 1 and the stator 2, which are accommodated in a gas-tight housing 3 filled with cooling gas, for example hydrogen gas. The stator 2 comprises the stator iron core 4 with the press plates 5 and the stator winding 6. Axially running cooling channels 7 are provided in the stator iron. The conductors of the stator winding 6 are cooled directly with a - liquid, for example water or oil, and for this purpose either the conductor bars are partially hollow or special cooling channels are provided in the winding slots.
The rotor 1 is also provided with axial cooling channels for the known direct conductor cooling by means of liquid, and these channels are located in the middle of the machine via openings 8 with the air gap 9 of the machine. At both ends of the rotor shaft 10 a fan 11 is each mounted, and coolers are also designated by 12, which are inside the housing < B> 3 are arranged in the stand space.
The mode of operation of the cooling arrangement is as follows: As a result of the suction effect of the fans, the cooling gas in the stator housing in the center of the machine will flow from the outside inwards through radial slots 13 provided in the sheet iron core 4 and will flow after being disturbed 900 into the longitudinal channels 7. The gas then flows through the stator iron on both sides in opposite directions, and finally over the in the press plates 5 provided passages in the forehead spaces 14 to arrive.
The gas heated in the stator iron is conveyed from the end spaces 14 by means of the fans 11 to the cooler 12 and, after releasing its heat, flows again from both sides towards the center of the machine, where it re-enters the sheet metal body 4.
. For the cooling of the rotor 1 , for example, some of the gas leaving the cooler 12 is led to the two ends of the rotor via secondary paths 15 , from where it flows through axial channels to the rotor center and exits the air gap 9 between the stator and rotor via the openings 8 , or reaches the suction side of the fans again. The dead space in the middle of the rotor between the openings 8 can be cooled by gas from the slots 13 ; the openings 16 are provided in the stand for this purpose.
In the illustrated embodiment, the same ventilators 11 are used for circulating the gas for cooling the stator iron and the rotor. However, additional fans can also be provided on the rotor shaft, which only serve to convey the gas flow required for rotor cooling.
To cool the stator winding 6, the cooling liquid is conveyed in a closed circuit through axial cooling channels through the stator bars, the liquid being introduced on one side of the stator and flowing out on the other side of the stator. A pump and a cooler are provided outside the machine in a known manner for circulating the cooling liquid.
The cooling channels for dissipating heat from the stator bars are dimensioned so that the non-symmetrical temperature rise in the stator winding due to the one-sided supply of the cooling liquid is limited to a few degrees. The overall thermal symmetry of the machine is therefore practically not disturbed.
The number and cross-sections of the cooling channels in the stator iron can be dimensioned in such a way that the temperature rise in the iron package is only slight, i.e., for example, 151> C from the middle to the end, while in the press plates there is a higher gas temperature rise can be admitted. With this measure, despite the low temperature of the active parts, a high gas temperature is obtained when exiting the inactive press plate and the rotor.
This means that a small amount of circulated gas is sufficient, and there are also small coolers, small fans and low ventilation losses. - Furthermore, there is the advantage that the axial flow in the stator iron enables a simple construction of the laminated core, since only a few radial slots need to be made in the center of the stand iron. The flow of the cooling gas in the laminated core is deflected only once by 900 , so that the flow resistance remains low.
