Filter for smokers' goods with at least two different, one behind the other arranged sections as well as method for its production and device for carrying out the method Implementation of the procedure.
The filter bodies known to date for Filte tion of the Gesaintrauches, namely cellulose acetate filter or cellulose crepe filter with or without cotton or other additions customary in the industry, can no longer meet today's requirements.
Furthermore, the refinements of these two types, namely specially developed cellulose acetate filters or cellulose crepe filters, have certain disadvantages, which have an unpleasant effect on the taste of smoke. In particular, it has been shown that cellulose crepe filters have the disadvantage of occasionally discharging dust particles into the smoker's mouth.
A perfect tobacco smoke filter must meet the following three conditions: <B> 1. </B> It should hold back a large part of the solid smoke components. The currently most effective cigarette filters hold back around 40 <B>% </B> of the solid-liquid smoke components.
2. The suction resistance of the filter should be as low as possible. The filters commonly used at the moment have suction resistances that do not exceed <B> 75 </B> mm water column with an air flow of <B> 17.5 </B> ml / second.
<B> 3. </B> Despite the removal of a considerable part of the mainstream smoke by the filter, the smoker should find his taste satisfaction. Avoiding the smoke quality does not primarily result from the fact that the smoke is diluted by the filter, but rather that the taste harmony is disturbed as a result of a change in the composition of the smoke components.
None of the currently used filters fulfills these three conditions at the same time. Filters made from pure cellulose material are generally highly effective with moderate suction resistance, but are not able to satisfy the taste of all tobacco types. The widespread filters made of cellulose acetate, on the other hand, are compatible in terms of taste with all types of tobacco, but only give a limited filter effectiveness for a permissible tensile resistance.
The filter according to the invention seeks to remedy these disadvantages. The filter according to the invention for smokers' goods is characterized in that at least one section of creped paper provided with a powder with a grain size between <B> 10 </B> #t and <B> 500 </B> #t and at least one other <B> Section </B> consists of semi or fully synthetic lining material.
The idea for a solution is to cover a highly effective cellulose type filter with a powdery additive in such a way that the smoke quality is improved and the filter effectiveness is increased at the same time. In order to prevent powdery components from getting into the main stream of the smoke and into the smoker's mouth, this powder-containing filter piece is followed by a neutral filter made of cellulose material or cellulose acetate. In addition to the actual filter effect, the latter filter is also of importance in terms of taste.
It was found that the filter effectiveness does not depend on the chemical composition of the added powder, but on its outer surface, d. depends on the fineness of the grain size. Fine, -specifically light powders increase the filter effectiveness more than coarse and specifically heavy powders with constant weight loading, as they have a larger specific surface and the smoke particles flowing through the filter present a greater number of obstacles. The grain size is between <B> 10 </B> #t and <B> 500 </B> #t.
On the other hand, it was shown that the taste of the smoke quality is significantly influenced by the chemical composition of the powder. The best taste results were obtained when an organic powder (e.g. bolus earth, asbestos powder or pumice powder) or a mixture of an inorganic powder with an organic powder (organic constituent e.g. starch powder, charcoal powder, Cellulose powder or tobacco powder).
By choosing the type and amount of exposure you have it in hand to produce filters of the desired tensile resistance and effectiveness and with properties that are tastefully matched to the tobacco mixture in question.
As a powder, one or more of the following groups of substances can generally be considered: silicon, aluminum-containing minerals, oxides, hydroxides, hydrate, carbonates, sulfates of metals from groups II, III, IV, V, VI, VII and VIII of the periodic table the elements as well as ground porcelains, earths and minerals, which more or less consist of the above-mentioned compounds, charcoal, animal charcoal, bituminous coal, organic fibers such as cotton, synthetic fibers such as cellulose acetate,
Inorganic fiber-like substances such as asbestos <B> '</B> organic powders such as corn starch, rice starch, cocoa, potato starch, sugar or even polyhydric alcohols that are solid at normal temperature, plant flours of the mannan type, uronic acids and their salts such as alginic acid, alginates , Pectin and the like.
These substances can be used either alone or in any mixture among themselves or with the dyes mentioned below.
Suitable dyes are those of the abovementioned substances which have their own color, such as. B. iron oxide, bolus earth u. a., but then also any natural and artificial coloring.
This improved crepe filter is made with a conventional filter made of semi or fully synthetic material, e.g. B. a cellulose acetate or paper crepe filter or a conventional cellulose acetate filter with organic and inorganic additives such as starch, short-staple cellulose or cellulose derivative fibers assembled, with essentially two parts of the same length or different lengths of the two finished filters are placed one behind the other so that each Cigarette tobacco rod,
Cellulose crepe filter, cellulose acetate filter or tobacco rod, cellulose crepe filter, cellulose crepe filter follow one another, the filter mentioned in the second place being the filter according to the invention. The two filter sections can touch. However, a cavity of <B> 0.5-5 </B> mm length can also be provided between the two filter elements in order to create a zone of gas expansion and swirling.
According to the invention, the method for producing the filter is characterized in that at least one paper web creped in the longitudinal direction is continuously withdrawn from a roll, carried out under a dusting device and coated with powder, and then <B> the </ B > Paper web covered with powder processed into an endless filter rod and cut up.
According to the invention, the device for carrying out the method is characterized by storage media for at least one paper roll conveyor and by a pollinator.
The method according to the invention and the device according to the invention for carrying it out are explained below, for example, with reference to the drawing. In this context, the filter according to the invention is also described, for example.
A roll 1 of a crepe paper web 2 is rotatably mounted in a frame (not shown). The crepe paper web 2 is guided horizontally in a manner not shown and passes through a first slot 3 of a protective box 4. A pollinator 5 is arranged in the protective box 4. The pollinator <B> 5 </B> is divided at the bottom into four conically converging <B> sections </B> parts <B> 6 </B> in which slide <B> 7 </B> is provided for powder dosing are. The paper web 2 runs through under the compartments <B> 6 </B>.
It is led out of the protective box 4 for further processing through a second slot <B> 8 </B> lying in the same horizontal plane as the first slot <B> 3 </B>.
The protective box 4 is formed funnel-shaped to converge below. The funnel-shaped end is connected to the suction nozzle <B> 9 </B> of a fan <B> 10 </B>, the pressure nozzle <B> 11 </B> of which opens into a dust chamber (not shown).
The rolled up paper web 2, which is still moist after creping, is pulled off the roll <B> 1 </B>, through the slot <B> 3 </B> of the protective box 4 and under the openings of the compartments <B> 6 </ B> of the pollinator <B> 5 </B> carried out. It leaves the protective box 4 through the slot <B> 8. </B>
The powder described in detail above, which is deposited on the paper web 2, flows from the openings of the compartments <B> 6 </B> depending on the positions of the slides <B> 7 </B>. The fan <B> 10 </B> sucks air and the powder that is not stuck on the paper web 2 from the protective box 4 and is separated out in the dust chamber. This suction also causes the powder to adhere better to the paper web 2.
In order to distribute the powder evenly on the paper web 2, it can be advantageous to guide the web 2 under the dusting device <B> 5 </B> over a vibrating table with adjustable amplitude. But it is also possible to equip the pollinator <B> 5 </B> with a vibrator.
The amount of powder applied is <B> depending </B> depending on the requirements between <B> 5 </B> and <B> 100% </B> of the weight of the paper web 2. The paper web can also be used in front of the pollinator <B > 5 </B> who moistened, whereby solutions or colloids of cellulose derivatives, mannans, starch glues, gum arabic and similar compounds can be used for better adhesion of the particles.
To control the distribution accuracy of the powder, a dye can be added to it in an amount of 0.1 to 20% by weight. In order to improve the adhesion of the powder to the paper web, this can be carried out between one or more pairs of rollers, which are heated or unheated and which press the powder onto the paper web.
The powder can also be dusted up using pressure nozzles. For the production of multi-layer filters, instead of a single paper web 2, their multiple, superposed paper webs are used.
The dusted paper web leaving the protective box 4 goes into a filter machine (not shown), where it is processed into an endless filter rod which is then cut into short filter rods.
The filters are further processed into filter cigarettes, the powder-loaded filter being enclosed between the tobacco rod and a filter of the usual type (for example a filter made from a fiber rod of cellulose acetate).
<I> Example </I> <B> 100 kg </B> of creped cellulose tape are mixed with 30 kg of a powder mixture containing 10 kg of Ta bak powder and 20 <B> kg </B> red bolus earth, with a grain size between <B> 10 </B> R and <B> 500 </B> [t in a device shown in the drawing. Filter rods of 42 mm length are made from here. <B> The </B> bars are cut into lengths of <B> 7 </B> mm. A <B> 7 </B> mm long filter piece is attached to a tobacco rod that is now 64 mm long and then with a <B> 7 </B> mm long filter piece made of a conventional filter made of semi or fully synthetic material (e.g.
B. cellulose acetate) extended beyond the powder-containing filter. A filter cigarette produced in this way has an overall length of <B> 78 </B> mm. The filter according to the invention combines the advantages of both conventional filter types (i.e. cellulose filter and cellulose acetate filter). It produces smoke that is flawless in terms of taste, is highly effective and has a suction resistance that does not exceed a water column of 75 mm.
