Partition The present invention relates to a partition comprising a base disposed on the floor of a room, a panel mounted vertically on this base and a support beam disposed at the upper part of the panel resting against the ceiling of this. lo cal, characterized in that it comprises at least one lever articulated on the base, one end of this lever being integral with the panel and the other with the beam, means making it possible to vary the relative position of the panel with respect to its base and the beam in relation to the panel, the assembly in such a way that by lowering the panel towards its base,
the beam is raised towards the ceiling and the partition wedged between the floor and the ceiling of the room.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view thereof. Fig. 2 a cross section on a larger scale according to 11-II of FIG. 1.
Figs. 3 and 4 are axonometric perspectives of the upper angle, respectively of the lower angle of the partition.
Fig. 5 shows, in horizontal section, an assembly of several partitions according to two variants.
The partition shown comprises a base 1 placed on a layer of felt 2 fixed on this base and resting on the floor 3 of a room, a panel 4 removably mounted on this base and a support beam 5 arranged at the upper part of the panel 4 and comprising a second layer of felt 6 by which it rests on the ceiling of the room.
The base 1 is formed by a metal section of straight U-shaped section in which are arranged two supports 7 and 8 having in their central part a cutout 9 in the shape of an inverted T. The panel 4 (FIG. 2) consists of a metal frame 11 inside which are mounted two webs 12 and 13, for example made of agglomerated material of the registered trademark Novopan. An acoustic insulator, not shown, is placed in the space comprised between these walls. In a variant, this insulator could also be a thermal insulator.
The frame 11 comprises four uprights in metal profiles, two horizontal 14 and 15 and two vertical 16 and 17. The horizontal uprights have a straight section in the general shape of an H furthermore having an inverted U-shaped part delimiting grooves 18 and 19. , respectively 20 and 21, in which the edges of the webs 12 and 13 are held. The flanges 22 and 23, respectively 24 and 25 of these uprights, fit on the flanges of the base 1, respectively those of the beam 5.
The horizontal upright 14 is provided in its midst with a profile element 26 whose sole is engaged in notches 27 and 28 formed at the ends of two levers 29 and 30. These levers are formed by two profiles of straight T-section. reversed engaged respectively in the cutouts 9 of the supports 7 and 8 which constitute their pivot point.
The other end of these levers is secured in notches formed at one end of two uprights 31 and 32 integral with the beam 5 and removably arranged in grooves 33 and 34 presented by the vertical uprights 16 and 17 of the frame 11.
The arms of the levers fixed to the angle bar 26 of the panel 4 are of identical length to those fixed to the lower end of the uprights 31 and 32. Thus, by moving the panel 4 in the vertical direction by a determined quantity, towards the ground or towards the ceiling, the beam 5 moves in a combined movement in the opposite direction to that of the panel 4 and of the same amplitude.
The uprights 16 and 17 also each have an arm 35, the end of which is bent so as to form longitudinal grooves 36 and 37 of trapezoidal shape in which positioning wedges 38 can be slid. This wedge, also of trapezoidal shape, is further arranged in a longitudinal groove 39 which, for example, the upright 32 has so as to be able to rigidly couple the partitions arranged simply end to end.
The particular shape of the arms 35 also makes it possible to fit them together so as to rigidly assemble one to the other, for example three or four partitions which meet perpendicularly (FIG. 5).
The vertical uprights 16 and 17 also have guide slots, for example 40, 41, 42 and 43, in which the ends of the flanges of the base 1, respectively those of the beam 5, partially engage.
The beam 5 is formed by a straight sectional section in an inverted U, the wings of which extend between the upper wings of the upright 15 of the frame 11.
The partition described is prefabricated and completely assembled at the factory. It is brought to work with the panel locked in the raised position, for example by means of wedges not shown engaged at each end of the partition between the upright 14 of the frame 11 and the ends of the levers 29 and 30 and which prevent these to rotate. The total height of the partition is then less than the height of the room in which it is to be mounted, which allows it to be easily transported to the predetermined right for final assembly.
By removing the wedges blocking the levers 29 and 30, the panel moves towards the ground under the effect of its own weight by sliding inside the base 1 and the beam 5, tilting these levers and causing the sliding uprights 31 and 32 of the beam 5 in the grooves 36 and 37 of the frame 11 towards the ceiling of the room until this beam meets this ceiling.
The partition is removed by moving the uprights 31 and 32 towards the ground against the weight of the panel 4.
The webs of the panel could be transparent, or even, in a variant, translucent.
