The seconds shaft of wall and table clocks was previously stored in such a way that a piece of round steel of the appropriate length with a sliding fit in a brass tube is performed after the shaft was previously reduced in diameter by machining on a lathe, so that bearing points remained in the outer areas, which are taken up by the pipe with a sliding fit. This reduces the risk of jamming between the seconds wave and the surrounding tube to a minimum.
Also known is the arrangement for storing the seconds, minute and hour shafts in wall and table clocks, in which a continuously cylindrical seconds shaft is surrounded by a metal tube supported in a work plate of the clockwork, the inner diameter of which is greater than the outer diameter of the seconds shaft and which is drawn to form the bearings at both ends to almost the diameter of the seconds shaft.
According to the invention, the bearing is simplified in terms of production in that the metal tube bearing the seconds shaft is a tightly fitting tube that is smoothly cylindrical on its outside, on which the minute wheel tube or hour wheel tube is rotatably mounted, and that near one end this tube is held in a work plate made of plastic, with the adjacent bearing point of the seconds shaft is on the other side of the work plate.
This design of the storage is particularly advantageous in those watches in which certain parts of the movement, in particular the work plates supporting the movement parts, are made of plastic. In this case, the metal tube surrounding the second shaft can be pressed into the associated work plate so that it can remain cantilevered for the rest of the length. An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained with reference to the drawing.
In the drawing, 1 designates the work plate provided for mounting the seconds wave, which is made of plastic. consists. According to the innovation, a tube made of metal, in particular brass, is used to support the second shaft? Pressed into the plate with a press fit: the inside diameter of this tube is larger than the outside diameter of the seconds shaft 3 and the tube is drawn in at both ends to form the bearings for the seconds shaft 3.
A further tube 7 can be placed on the tube 2, on which the minute wheel 4 with minute hand drive 5 and the hour wheel f; circulates. The fourth wheel is designated by R.
