Mixer faucet The invention is a mixer faucet for mixing cold and hot water accordingly a manually adjustable and kept constant by means of a thermostat mixing temperature.
The purpose of the invention is to create a mixer tap a simplest structure, which can keep the set mixing temperature practically without constant fluctuations caused by the inertia of the thermostat. For this purpose, the mixer battery according to the invention is designed so that the thermostat is arranged in a part of the mixer tap housing cooled by cold water and has a temperature sensor extending from the cooling zone into the mixing zone.
An embodiment of the mixer tap according to the invention is shown in the drawing in a longitudinal section. This has a housing 1 composed of two parts 1 'and V' which is connected to the hot or cold water line by means of nozzles 2 and 3.
The gel fist part 1 "encloses a thermostatic chamber 4 located outside the cold water connection 3 , which by means of a screw cap 6 <with a sealing ring 5 In the screw cap 6 a spindle 8 sealed by means of an O-ring 7 is rotatably mounted, which with the help of a step and a locking ring 9 is also secured against axial displacement.
With the end of the spindle 8 protruding from the cover 6 , an adjustment button 10 is non-rotatably connected, which, as will be explained later, allows adjustment by hand he serves the desired mixed temperature and for this purpose is advantageously seen ver with a temperature scale, which cooperates with a mark on the housing.
The end of the spindle 8, which extends into the chamber 4 and is provided with a thread, engages in a central extension 11 ', provided with an internal thread, of a bottom part forming the flange 11 , which is screwed into one end of a cylindrical sleeve 12 that is offset at the other end and is coaxial with the spindle 8 . With each a radial pin 13, which is inserted into grooves 14 on the inner wall of the chamber 4, d. h. of the housing part engage, the sleeve 12 is secured against rotation when it is axially displaceable.
In the offset end of the sleeve 12, a cylindrical, cup-shaped part 15 is guided axially displaceably, the open end of which facing the flange 11 is surrounded by a flange 15 ' is. A compression spring 16 is inserted into the annular space formed between the sleeve 12 and the part 16 , which is located on the shoulder of the sleeve 12 on one end and on the flange on the other 15 ' of part 15 and thus strives to keep part 15 until the flange 15' rests on the flange 11 to be pushed into the sleeve 12.
With the bottom of the cup-shaped part 15 or with the flange 11 , the ends of a spring lining 17 are sealingly connected, so that inside the Bellows 17 a closed space at the named connection points is formed. A cylindrical collar 18 is attached to the flange 11 and extends, surrounding the bellows 17 , into the part 15, </ B > to protect the bellows from damage. The bellows 17 its two ends by means of the part 15 or the flange 11 connected to the sleeve 12 with the spring 16 Are coupled, is filled with a suitable liquid and forms a thermostat, which can be influenced by hand using the setting button 10 .
A tubular hollow shaft 19 is fastened in the base of part 15 , which is - coaxial with spindle 8 B> - extends into the housing part 1 ' and is guided in the housing part V' by means of a shoulder 19 '. In addition to this shoulder 19 ', a radially extending wedge 20 is fastened to the hollow shaft 19 , which wedge engages in a groove 21 of the housing part 1 " and the rotation of the hollow shaft 19 is prevented without hindering the axial displaceability of the same.
Incidentally, the hollow shaft 19 has at its free end an enlarged sensing space 24 which is closed with an insert 22 and a screw 23 , which through the channel 25 of the hollow shaft communicates with the interior of the bellows 17 and, like this, is filled with the said liquid.
Adjoining the shoulder 19 ', the hollow shaft is surrounded by an inlet chamber 26 which communicates with the connector 3 and which is surrounded by a mixing antechamber 27 is separated in the housing part l ' by a valve seat 28 surrounding the hollow shaft 19 .
This interacts with a valve disk 29, which is tightly fastened to the hollow shaft and which is brought to or lifted off from the valve seat by a corresponding axial displacement of the hollow shaft, this valve > 28-29 Apart from completely shutting off the cold water flow, it is also responsible for its flow control and thus determining the proportion of cold water in the mixed flow flowing out of the battery.
The end of the hollow shaft 19 is provided with an external thread and engages in a threaded hole at the end of a control shaft 30 arranged in the extension of the hollow shaft 19 one. This extends through the opening of a ring-shaped valve seat 31 which is inserted sealingly in the housing part l ' and which has a valve disc 32 </ B attached to the control stem > cooperates.
In addition to shutting off, this valve also serves to regulate the flow rate, this time, of course, in connection with the hot water flow. It should be noted that the closing direction of the valves 28-29 or 31-32 is opposite. The end of the control shaft 30 is guided displaceably in a driver sleeve 33 or is connected to this sleeve in a rotationally fixed manner by means of a square pin 34.
The driver sleeve 33 in turn is attached to a support pin 33 ' in a part inserted in the housing part 1' and by means of a sealing ring 35 </ B > Sealed screw cap 36 rotatably mounted around its own axis and non-rotatably connected to a locking button 37 attached to the end of the support pin 33 '. The lead-through of the support pin 33 " in the screw cap 36 is sealed with an O-ring 38 . By turning the locking button 37 < / B> the driver sleeve 33 and the control shaft 30 are rotated at the same time, while the hollow shaft 19 is held non-rotatably.
The thread connecting these two shaft ends causes an axial relative movement, the valve disks 29 and 32 being moved in the direction of their seats or vice versa. In the area of the sensing chamber 24, the hollow shaft 19 is surrounded by a cylindrical jacket 39 which is held in the housing 1 in a manner not shown and which Mouth of the outlet pipe 40 closes. At one end the jacket 39 is closed with a bottom, and at the other end with an insert flange 41, the latter of which carries a sleeve 42 provided with bores 45 which extends into the jacket almost to the bottom of the same.
In this way, coaxial, interconnected annular spaces are formed in the jacket. The inner annular space communicates with the outlet pipe 40 by means of a pipe insert 43, while the outer annular space communicates with the antechamber 27 <through bores 44 in the casing 39, which are offset with respect to the bores 45 / B> is connected. The cold or warm water flowing into this antechamber 27 , after premixing, first reaches the mixing chamber formed within the casing 39 through the annular spaces and from there after rinsing around the Sensing space 24 containing the end of the hollow shaft 19 in the outflow pipe.
The flow rate of the mixed flow is set by turning the locking button 37 , by shortening the distance between the sealing surfaces of the two valve disks 29 and 32 a certain total flow cross-section will give. The mixed temperature depends in a certain way on the proportion of the total flow cross-section of the individual cross-sections available for the hot or cold water.
The flow rate is thus dependent on the relative position of the shafts 19 and 30 with respect to one another, while the axial displacement position of these two shafts for the mixed temperature in the housing 1 is decisive. This position is set or changed with the help of the temperature control device described in the introduction, which of course has been calibrated accordingly.
It is assumed, for example, that in the position of the regulating elements shown in the drawing, d. h. of the valves 29-32 with respect to one another or to their seats, the greatest possible flow rate at a set temperature T flows out of the battery. The spring of 16 admittedly tries the part 15 and thus the hollow shaft 19 the control shaft 30 and the two valve plates 29 and 32 in the drawing to the right, but these parts are supported by the reaction liquid on the flange 11 , which is one of the on the adjusting knob 10 the set temperature T assumes a corresponding shift position in the chamber 4. Now learns the mixed temperature, d. h.
If the temperature sensed by the reaction liquid in the sensing chamber 24 changes, there is an immediate change in the volume of the reaction liquid and thus an axial movement of the part 15 and the shafts 19 </ B> and 30 with the valves 29 and 32 of course with a simultaneous change in the pressure prevailing in the liquid.
If the mixing temperature falls, the reaction liquid contracts and the valves 29 and 32 move in the direction of the valve seat 28, which is an enlargement the proportion of hot water and a reduction in the proportion of cold water in the mixed flow. The steady state, in which the temperature T is set again, is set back very quickly, with practically no subjectively perceptible fluctuations in the mixed water temperature. The reaction of the control device is reversed when the mixing temperature is increased.
The reaction liquid expands and moves the part 15 with the shafts 19 or 30 and the valves 29 or . 32 in the direction of the valve seat 31, whereby less hot water and more cold water gets into the mixed flow. Even now the steady state is restored very quickly.
The very fast reaction of the temperature regulating device is mainly due to the fact that only a small part of the reaction liquid is involved in fulfilling the mixing temperature, with the heat supplied to this amount of liquid being immediately removed again by the cold water flowing around the hollow shaft, With the exception of the temperature sensor, d. h. At the sheathed end of the hollow shaft 19 , all parts of the temperature regulation device are cooled and, thanks to a practically constant intrinsic temperature, cannot influence the temperature regulation at all. The cooling can be operated even more intensively if the chamber 4 also is flooded with cold water.
The communication between this chamber and chamber 26 , which is necessary for this, also results in damping for the axial movement of valve disks 29 and 32.
If the set value of the mixed temperature should now be changed, e.g. B. are increased, the flange 11 with the sleeve 12 is moved to the right by turning the spindle 8 with the aid of the adjusting knob 10 , whereby the part 15 and thus the shafts 19 and 30 with the valve plates 29 and 32 can be taken over the spring 16 . The state of the reaction liquid adapts immediately to the changed conditions, with the spring 16 having a balancing effect, so that the newly set higher mixing temperature is reached immediately. The process is analogous, but vice versa, if a lower mixing temperature is set.
