Device for clamping a sleeve on a mandrel, e.g. B. for textile bobbins
The present invention relates to a device for clamping a sleeve onto a mandrel on which a clamping ring is arranged. Such devices are used, for example, on textile machines for holding the coils having a cardboard or metal sleeve as the core.
According to the invention, this sleeve clamping device is characterized in that the clamping ring is elastic and self-contained and has an outer diameter that is larger than the inner diameter of the sleeve, which ring when the sleeve to be clamped is pushed on in the direction of the mandrel axis with deformation of its cross section on the sleeve inner wall and is rolled on the mandrel.
The accompanying drawing illustrates two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention. It shows:
Fig. 1 is a partial section of the device according to the first example, with a sleeve in the starting position,
Fig. 2 the same section of this device with the sleeve in the clamping position and
3 shows a partial section, analogous to FIG. 1, of the device according to the second example, without a sleeve.
In FIGS. 1 and 2, 1 denotes the mandrel of the sleeve clamping device which is connected to a braking or drive device (not shown). The mandrel diameter is slightly smaller than the clear width of the sleeve 2 to be clamped onto it. This mandrel 1 has a twist of such a nature that the part that has remained there forms a cone la, the smallest diameter of which is on the side from which the sleeve on the The mandrel is pushed (on the right in Figs. 1 and 2). At this point, a self-contained, elastic clamping ring 3 of circular cross-section and circular outline made of vulcanized rubber is placed. The outside diameter of this clamping ring 3 is larger than the clear width of the sleeve 2. The excess is at a certain torque to be transmitted from the softness or
Hardness of the clamping ring dependent; in general, however, it lies within the fits between the tight fit and the press fit. As a result of the vulcanization of the rubber in the ring shape described, the clamping ring 3 has the tendency to return to its starting position when it is pushed onto a rod or when a limit position is exceeded in which the ring section which forms the inside diameter in the starting position is in the position of the outside diameter is located in a starting position from - according to the development of the cross-sectional circumference offset on the rod - to continue rolling parallel position and to remain in this.
When the sleeve 2 is pushed from the position shown in FIG. 1 into that of FIG. 2 on the mandrel 1, the end face of the sleeve comes to rest on the clamping ring 3, which ring when moving this sleeve with the inside on the cone la and at the same time rolls with the outside on the inner wall of the sleeve 2 about its cross-sectional axis, that is, rolls. The cross-section of the clamping ring is deformed due to the oversize and additionally by the increasing diameter of the cone la in the direction of the mandrel axis, the magnitude of the pressing pressure in the clamping position of the sleeve shown in Fig. 2 being the magnitude of the transferable from mandrel 1 to sleeve 2 Torque determined.
The design of the jig according to FIG. 3 differs from the example described only in that the mandrel 1 has a cylindrical recess Ib instead of the cone la, which is provided at its right end in FIG. 3 with a round groove 1c in which the clamping ring 3 is stored in its initial position. Here, too, when the sleeve (not shown) is pushed on by the same in the direction of the mandrel axis from its initial position shown in solid lines, its cross-section is deformed into the end position shown in dash-dotted lines, with the maximum clamping force already at the transition of the ring from groove 1c to the cylinder shaft is reached.
In the examples shown and described, the length of the turn in the mandrel 1 practically corresponds to the development of the circumference of the clamping ring cross-section, so that the ring 3 in the position drawn out in FIG. 2 and in phantom in FIG. 3 at the end of the turning on the clamping position side in a to Starting position parallel position remains. When removing the sleeve, the clamping ring 3 is rolled back from the sleeve into its starting position, in which it has simultaneously emerged from the interior of the sleeve and the latter can be removed from the mandrel.
The illustrated and described sleeve clamping device is very simple in construction, efficient to manufacture and practically insensitive to deviations from the nominal size of the sleeve clearance that remain within reasonable limits. It is free of expensive control devices for the clamping ring in that it is controlled by the clamping material itself.
Instead of the described indentations in the shaft of the mandrel 1, the arrangement of the clamping ring 3, possibly several of them, on the outer circumference of the mandrel 1 would also be conceivable, so that only the excess of the clamping ring rolled between the circumference of the mandrel and the pushed-on sleeve causes the compression of the ring cross-section and that determined torque to be transmitted.
