Man erhitzt z.
EMI0002.0107
5 - Amino - 1,9 - pyrazol- anthron, 4-Amino-1,9-pyrimidanthron, 5 Amino-1,9- pyrimidanthron, 4-Amino-1,9-anthrapyrimidon, 4- Amino-(N)-methyl@l,9-anthrapyridon, [1",4"-Di- amino - anthrachinonyl - (2")] - anthrachinon - 2'(N), 3':

Process for the production of anthraquinone vat dyes The present invention relates to a process for the production of vat dyes of the anthraquinone series.
It has been found that compounds of the formula
EMI0001.0006
wherein A and B represent radicals of connectable anthraquinone compounds, of which at least one is a 1-anthraquinonyl radical which is unsubstituted in the 4-position, but can optionally be otherwise substituted, and wherein R1 and R2 have 1- to 2-ring radicals Benzene series mean, valuable vat dyes are
which are characterized by the good fastness properties of the dyeings produced therewith, in particular by good to very good fastness to light, chlorine, washing and soda boiling.
The process according to the invention for preparing the new dyestuffs of the formula I is characterized in that 1 mol of a compound of the formula
EMI0001.0022
wherein R1 and R2 have the meanings given above and X is a radical which splits off in the reaction, e.g. B.
OH or Cl, is linked to two moles of the same or different amino anthraquinone compounds acid amide-like and the components are selected so that at least one of the anthraquinone radicals A and B is a 1-anthraquinonyl radical which is unsubstituted in the 4-position, but possibly. may be otherwise substituted.
The compounds of the formula II are most conveniently condensed with the aminoanthraquinone compounds in the form of the acid halides. The condensation is expediently carried out under conditions such as are customary in the acylation of aminoanthraquinones with relatively high molecular weight carboxylic acid halides.
According to the definition, two moles of the same or one mole each of two different aminoanthraquinone compounds are used.
In the former case, it is advantageous to work in a single stage. In the second case, more uniform products are obtained with a two-step process. One heated z. B. the dicarboxylic acid halides with the aminoanthraquinones in an anhydrous organic solvent, for example in dichlorobenzene, trichlorobenzene or nitrobenzene, and advantageously in the presence of an acid-binding agent. As the latter, z. B.
Alkali and alkaline earth carbonates or oxides, or tertiary nitrogen bases, such as pyridine, picolines, lutidines, dialkylanilines or mixtures of such substances are used. When using two moles of the same aminoanthraquinone compound, it is expedient to heat the reaction mixture to higher temperatures, e.g. B. to 120-170.
Whoever uses one mole of two different aminoanthraquinones, then condenses one amino compound expediently, advantageously the more easily soluble one with the dicarboxylic acid halide at a slightly elevated temperature, e.g.
B. 25-40, to the monoamide and then combines the same at 120 to 170 with the other aminoanthraquinone compound. Particularly suitable compounds of the formula 1I are those for which the symbols R1 and R in the formula II are optionally substituted, such as. B. halogenated, alkylated or alkoxylated phenyl or diphenyl radicals.
In view of the valuable properties of the end products obtainable therefrom and because of the simple production process, the derivatives of those dicarboxylic acids in which the benzene radicals are phenylene radicals bonded in the 1,4-position or diphenylene radicals bonded in the 4,4'-position are used in particular .
Particularly valuable vat dyes are obtained with the reactive acid derivatives of a, a-dichloro, ss- [4 "-carboxydiphenylyl-4 '] - ethylene. These dyes are characterized in particular by the valuable property that they are used on cotton from the Open a warm to hot vat, i.e. at temperatures of 50-80.
For condensation with the compounds of the formula II, aminoanthraquinones are suitable, which are substituted, for example, by halogen, nitro, hydroxy, alkoxy, alkylcarboxyl, alkyl, alkylsulfonic, sulfonic acid amide, alkylamino and acylamino groups and or or with heterocyclic rings, such as.
B. oxazole, thiazole, imidazole, pyrazole, thiophene, pyridine, pyrimidine, pyrazine, pyridazine, thioxanthone, carbazole and aeridon rings are condensed. 1-Aminoanthraquinones which contain no substituents in the 4-position are, for.
B. the 1-amino anthraquinone itself, also the 1-amino-6-chloro-anthraquinone, the 1-amino-6,7-dichloroanthraquinone, the 1-amino-6-chloro-7-bromoanthraquinone, the 1-aminoanthraquinone -2-carboxylic acid ethyl ester, 1- aminoanthraquinone-6-sulfonic acid dimethylamide, 1,5-diaminoanthraquinone, 1-amino-5-acetylaminoanthraquinone,
1-amino-5-cinnamoylamino-anthraquinone, 1-amino-5-benzoylaminoanthraquinone, 1-amino-5-benzoylamino-8-methoxy-anthraquinone, 1-amino-5- (2'- or 4 '-chlorobenzoylamino) -anthraquinone, the 1-amino-5- (2', 4'-dichlorobenzoylamino) -anthraquinone, the 1-amino-5- (3'-chloro-4'-bromobenzoylamino) -anthraquinone, the 1-amino - 5,
8 -bis - (4'-chlorobenzoylamino) - anthraquinone, the 1-amino - 5 - (4'-methoxybenzoylamino) - anthraquinone, the 1-amino-5- (3'-trifluoromethylbenzoylamino) -anthraquinone, 1-amino-5- (3'- or 4'-methyls, sulfonyl-benzoylamino) -anthraquinone, 1-amino-5- (ss-pyridoylamino) -anthraquinone, 1-amino-5- (ss -anthraquinonoylamino) -anthraquinone, the 1-amino-5,2 '- (6'-dimethylsulfamid-naphthyl)
- Amino-anthraquinone carbazole, the 4-amino-1,9-anthrapyrimidine, the 5-aminoanthraquinone-2 ', 4'-dichloro-2,1 (N): 1', 2 '(N) -benzolacridone and the Aminobenzanthronyl aminoanthraquinone acridone of the formula
EMI0002.0107
If one uses one mole of two different aminoanthraquinones for condensation with compounds of the formula 1I,
so the one can be any substituted 1-aminoanthraquinone or a 2-aminoanthraquinone compound. Examples of such compounds which can be used are the following: 1-amino-4-hydroxy- or -4-methoxy-anthraquinone, 1-amino-4-phenylaminoanthraquinone, 1-amino-4-chloroanthraquinone, 1-amino-4-benzoylaminoanthraquinone , 1-Amino-4- (4'-chlorobenzoylamino) -anthraquinone, 1 - amino - 4 - (3 ',
4 '- dichlorobenzoylamino) anthraquinone, 1-amino-4- (3'- or 4'-dimethylsulfamide benzoylamino) anthraquinone, 1-amino-4- (methylsulfonylbenzoylamino) anthraquinone, 1,4-diamino - 2-acetylanthraquinone, 1,4-diaminoanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid anilide, 4 - amino -1,2 '- dianthrimide, 5- amino -1,9 - anthrathiazole,
5-amino-1,9-pyrazole-anthrone, 4-amino-1,9-pyrimidanthrone, 5-amino-1,9-pyrimidanthrone, 4-amino-1,9-anthrapyrimidone, 4-amino- (N) -methyl @ l, 9-anthrapyridone, [1 ", 4" -diamino - anthraquinonyl - (2 ")] - anthraquinone - 2 '(N), 3':
4,5-thiazole, 4-aminoanthraquinone-2,1 (N) -benz-acridone, 2-aminoanthraquinone and aminodibenzanthrone.
Valuable dyes are obtained above all if aminoanthraquinones are used for the condensation with the compounds of the formula 1I which are at most further substituted by halogen atoms and / or aroylamino groups. Of these, in turn, those in which the two anthraquinone radicals contain the amino group in the 1-position and whose 4-position is free are particularly valuable.
The vat dyes which can be prepared according to the invention can be treated with low-boiling solvents such as alcohol or glacial acetic acid for cleaning. They can also be purified by recrystallization from high-boiling solvents, such as nitrobenzene, chloronaphthalene or quinoline, or by pumping over.
They present valuable vat dyes which can be used for dyeing and printing a wide variety of fibers, especially those containing cellulose, such as cotton, linen, rayon and rayon made from regenerated cellulose. In the form of their leuco compounds, the dyes show good to very good drawability compared to cellulose-containing materials. The strong colorations or
Prints are very pure and, as already emphasized, have good to very good fastness properties. Vat dyes which are derived from dichlorethylene-bis-diphenyldicarboxylic acids are particularly useful as so-called hot dyes for modern continuous dyeing processes. They therefore represent a preferred group of dyes produced according to the invention. Various anthraquinone dyes prepared according to the invention, in particular the more highly condensed derivatives, are also valuable pigment dyes.
Finally, the present dyes can also be converted in a manner known per se into leuco preparations, in particular sulfuric acid ester salts, and used for dyeing and printing according to the methods customary for this class of dyes. In the following examples, the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Unless otherwise noted, the parts are understood to be parts by weight. The same are to parts of volume as grams to cubic centimeters.
