<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Heating boiler with burner The invention relates to a heating boiler with a burner for liquid or gaseous fuels, a combustion chamber surrounded by a bell-shaped water jacket with at least an approximately horizontal axis, an annular channel surrounding the water jacket for the extraction of the combustion gases and a connection between the one open end of the Firebox and the ring channel leaving free end wall in which the burner is arranged in the axis of the firebox.
Its purpose is to increase the specific heating surface load of such a boiler in order to achieve a compact, space and material-saving design. For this purpose, the heating boiler according to the invention is characterized in that a helical guide wall of a height almost corresponding to the radial width of the ring channel is arranged loosely and longitudinally displaceable in the ring channel and that the end wall is designed as a removable cover.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the heating boiler according to the invention is shown schematically in longitudinal section.
The heating boiler shown is provided with an oil burner 1 which generates a convergent bundle of jets 2 of finely distributed oil and at the same time blows the combustion air conveyed by a fan 3 into the furnace 4. The axis of the beam 2 is horizontal and coincides with the axis of a bell-shaped, inner water jacket 5, which is open at the front and provided with a double floor 6 at the rear, which completely closes off the combustion chamber 4 on the side opposite the burner 1.
The oil jets crossing at the convergence point 7 of the beam 2 are therefore bent over by the combustion air, which is forced through the bottom 6 to reverse direction and flows along the inner wall of the water jacket 5 to its front opening 8 surrounding the burner 1, as this is indicated by the arrows 9.
The inner water jacket 5, which surrounds the furnace 4, is surrounded coaxially by an outer water jacket 10. It is also open at the front and provided with a double floor 11 at the rear. This double floor 11, however, has an opening 12 in its center, which is penetrated by a connecting piece 13 which is connected to the chimney, not shown.
Between the water jackets 5 and 10 there is a helical surface-shaped baffle 14 which, together with these two jackets, delimits a channel 15 of rectangular cross-section and a helical axis through which the combustion gases flowing in the direction of the arrows 9 from the combustion chamber 4, as indicated in the usual way by dots and crosses. The combustion gases pass from the duct 15 into the space 16 between the double floors 6 and 11 and finally via the nozzle 13 into the chimney.
The outer double jacket 10 is surrounded by thermal insulation 37, which is provided at the end of the double jacket 10 with a flange 17 to which a cover 20 provided with a fireproof lining 18 and thermal insulation 19 is flanged, to which the burner 1 and the fan 3 are attached in a manner not shown.
After removal of the cover 20, the guide wall 14, the individual turns of which are attached to longitudinal rods (not shown), can be pulled out as a rigid whole between the two double jackets 5 and 10 for cleaning purposes. If the guide wall 14 is exchanged for another guide wall of different pitch, one can
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
thereby significantly affect the boiler output. With a smaller duct cross-section and a lower incline, the output is greater, but this also makes it necessary to increase the fan pressure.
The return of the central heating (not shown) is connected to the return pipe 21, which opens with an injector 22 into a vertical pipe 23 which is connected from below to the outer water jacket 10. Opposite the mouth of the pipe 23, a pipe 24 connects the outer double jacket 10 with the inner double jacket 5. The inner water jacket 5 is divided by a horizontal baffle 25 into an upper and a lower half, which are only located near the front end of the water jacket, to which the chicane is not sufficient (compare the dashed line at this end) are connected to each other.
A hot water generator 26 is supported on the outer water jacket 10 via supports 27. This hot water generator 26 has an upper double floor 28 and a lower double floor 29, which are connected to one another by two vertical heating pipes 30. The water space 31 of the hot water generator is provided with an inlet connection 32 for the cold water and with an outlet connection 33 for the warm water. The vertical pipe 23 mentioned earlier is connected at the top to the lower double floor 29, while the upper double floor 28 is connected to a vertical pipe 34 with the outer water jacket 10, in the vicinity of the rear end thereof.
The flow connector 35 is connected to the pipe 34. In the pipe 34 a connection piece 36 connected to the inner water jacket 5 is arranged coaxially and opens freely into the pipe 34 at the top.
A thermal insulation of the hot water generator 26 is designated by 38. A connector 39 connected to the upper double bottom 28 is intended for connection to an expansion vessel (not shown). The boiler described works as follows: The fan 3 generates an overpressure in the furnace 4, which is essentially sufficient to overcome the frictional resistance that the combustion gases experience on their way through the opening 8, the channel 15, the space 16 and the nozzle 13, see above that the chimney draft only has to overcome the frictional resistance in the chimney.
As a result of the described shape and deflection of the oil droplet jets and the combustion air, the result is very good combustion at high temperature, and the combustion gases give off their heat to the water jackets 5 and 10 in a very favorable manner. The arrangement described makes it possible to achieve a very high load on the boiler in terms of calories per square meter of heating surface and to accommodate this heating surface in a relatively small space. The circulation of the hot water in the pipes 34 and 30 of the hot water generator _26 is carried out by gravity and essentially does not occur when the water in its water space 31 is hot.
In this case, the water in the heating circuit flows from the return pipe 21 via the injector 22 and the pipe 23 into the outer water jacket 10. Part of the water flows through this outer water jacket 10, which is preferably also provided with baffles (not shown), and the lower one Part of the pipe 34 to the flow connection 35, while another part flows through the pipe 24, the inner water jacket 5, the connection 36 and the pipe 34 to the flow connection 35. This cycle is shown in the figure with solid arrows.
The water flowing out of the nozzle 36 into the pipe 34 tends to generate a circulation in the hot water generator 26, in that the water in the lower part of the pipe 34, which is located in the water space 31, is slightly warmer than in the tubes 30.
If the water in the water chamber 31 becomes colder as a result of a withdrawal, the temperature in the heating pipes 30 also falls, so that a gravity circulation in the sense of the arrows drawn in dashed lines in the pipes 30 and 34 is fanned, which increases rapidly because the water at the top The end of the connector 36 now does not reverse its direction and because, in addition, the water coming from the outer water jacket 10 into the pipe 34 is now also partially carried upwards, while another part still reaches the flow connector 35. The water in the water space 31 is thus very quickly heated again, whereupon the gravity circulation stops again.
Of course, the heating boiler is still provided with the usual equipment, such as thermostats, cleaning holes, cladding, etc., but these are well known and therefore not shown.
The heating boiler does not necessarily have to be provided with a hot water generator, since the advantage of the high load capacity and the resulting low space and material requirements are fully preserved even with boilers without a hot water generator.
