Gas pressure regulator The invention relates to a regulator for keeping the pressure of flowing gases constant, in particular for pneumatic length measurement.
As is well known, the quality of this type of measurement depends on the pressure constant of the feed gas that can be achieved with the regulator for the pre-nozzles of the measuring device, regardless of whether the measured value from the display device is a function of the variable gas pressures between the pre-nozzle and the Measuring nozzle temporally escaping gas amount is registered.
Regulating devices built according to the principle of the hydrostatic column for very good pressure constancy because of the immersion pipes through which compressed air flows, which can be kept at a constant immersion depth with simple means. However, since the height of the container of the hydrostatic column must be kept within limits that ensure its transportability, the pressure of the gas fed to the pre-nozzles can only be regulated to a few 100 mm water column, which is not sufficient to bridge measuring ranges that are essential are larger than 0.1 mm, as required by pneumatic measurement on the production machines.
The difficulty of producing higher constant gas pressures is circumvented with pneumatic length measuring devices that work according to the flow method by means of an adjustable gas throttle. By manually operating the throttle, the zero mark on the display device is constantly adjusted to reflect the change in gas pressure. Irrespective of the feed pressure, devices built according to the pressure differential method work, in which the display device is connected between two parallel gas flows according to a Wheatstone bridge.
To adjust the bridge after the zero mark, however, a device that can be operated by hand or motor is necessary. Further devices for keeping the gas pressure constant are regulators with a valve that controls the gas passage opening, in which the closing element is attached to membranes or elastic bellows and is loaded not only by a spring force, but also by pressure-regulated gas, which counteracts the spring force the closing organ works.
Because of the dependence of the regulated gas pressure on the spring force, which is determined by the position of the closing organ. changes to the gas passage opening when different amounts of gas flow through the opening, z. B. because of the not insignificant dependence of the flowing gas quantity on the gas state variables, the deviations of the regulated pressure from the nominal value are not small enough to be able to carry out an exact length measurement.
However, a precise pressure constancy is achieved according to the invention with a gas pressure regulator with a valve body controlled by the feed pressure, which is influenced in the opening sense by an opposing spring, that a partial flow of the pressure-regulated gas is branched off via a throttle point, which is led to a pressure relief valve is and counteracts the regulated gas pressure before it flows out, and that the pressure relief valve is loaded by the pressure of the partial flow and by an adjustable closing spring and is controlled by the regulated gas pressure in an opening sense,
that when the gas pressure increases, the counter pressure drops by the same amount as the gas pressure increases and the force of the first spring of the then closing valve body increases and vice versa, so that the valve body is carried floating by the gas flow and vibrates continuously between the stroke limiting surfaces without contact device.
The drawing illustrates an embodiment example of the gas pressure regulator according to the invention. Three elastic bellow cans 1, 2 and 3 are gas-tight at the end with the valve disc 5 loaded by the spring 4 and the support tube 6 for the valve seat 11 and the housing base 7. The spring force 4 is adjustable by means of screw 8 and nut 9. The support tube 6, which is designed as a valve seat cone 11 on one end and as a hemisphere 10 on the other side, is seated in the ball socket 12 and can be locked in place by means of the cap nut 14 on the spherical surface 44. Helically winds around the housing jacket 15 Gas duct 16 which is covered by the cover 17.
Finally, on the cover 17, a pressure relief valve 32 be fastened, the valve cone 35 loaded by the spring 36 with a bellows socket 34 is connected.
The three cans 1, 2 and 3 sheath together sam with the support tube 6, the valve plate 5 and the housing base 7 three gas chambers 22, 24 and 26, of which the chamber 22 is connected to a compressor by means of the supply lines 18, 21. The chamber 26 is connected through the line 28 and the gas throttle 30 to the chamber 24 and also through the line 13 to the chamber 31 of the pressure relief valve. The bellows socket 34, which encloses the chamber 33, is connected by the line 37 to the channel 16, the cross-sectional area of which must not be smaller than the gas flow opening in the nozzle 27. The breathing space 29 is connected to the atmosphere by means of the openings 43.
Before the pressurized gas flows through the feed line 18 into the regulator, the spring cage 19 latches on the chamber bottom 20. In this position, the valve is fully open, and a spring force that does not need to be greater than that bears on the valve plate 5 Force that is required to stretch the three cans 1, 2 and 3 coupled to the plate 5 in order to fully open the valve. The compressed gas flows through the lines 18 and 21 into the regulator and out of the gas chamber 22 through the valve opened by the spring into the chamber 24. From the chamber 24, the gas flows through openings 25 into the coiled channel 16, in which the Compensation to room temperature takes place, and finally reaches the outlet 27 via the measuring device, not shown, back into the atmosphere.
Part of the gas from the chamber 24 passes through the nozzle 30 into the chamber 26 and together with the spring force loads the valve disc 5 in the opposite direction to the gas pressure in the chamber 24, which closes the valve except for a remaining opening width, the size of which is conditional depends on the state of equilibrium of the forces loading the plate and on the amount of gas that flows through the regulator. Due to the dependence of the opening width of the valve on the amount of gas flowing, the spring force on the valve disk and thus the size of the gas pressure in the chamber 24 also change with this.
The pressures in the chambers 24 and 26 counteract one another in such a way that the gas pressure in the chamber 24 becomes practically a constant value. Because, if the acting pneumatic load in the chamber 24 on the valve plate 5 is greater, then the acting pneumatic load in the chamber 26 on the plate is reduced to the same extent as the force of the spring 4 increases.
The task of the pressure relief valve is to control the Wech selspiel of the pressures in the chambers 24 and 26. The pressure-regulated gas in the chamber 33, in the opposite direction to the pressure of the spring 36, actuates the floating valve cone 35, which is loaded by the pressure of the gas in the chamber 26 in the same direction as the spring force. The pressure of the partial flow derived from the gas from the chamber 24, which flows through the nozzle 30 into the two chambers 26 and 31 and from the opening 38 into the free atmosphere, is in the chambers 26, 31 of approximately the same size as that in FIG the chambers 24, 33 prevailing pressure when the controller delivers the maximum amount of regulated pressurized gas.
The production of the approximate pressure equality of the gas in the chambers 31, 33 in the state of the regulator of its greatest flow control is done by adjusting the spring force by means of the screws 8 and 39 to a ge wrestling partial flow, in which the area of the gas passage opening between the floating Valve cone 35 and the conical seat 40 is much smaller than the area of the opening in the nozzle 30.
If the maximum amount of gas flowing is more or less throttled, e.g. B. by a test object, which is placed in front of the measuring nozzle, then the opening width of the valve 5, 11 is reduced, and the gas pressure in the chamber 24 rises above the adjusted target pressure. The opening width of the valve 35, 40 is larger as a result of the higher pressure in the chamber 33 and thus the opening ratio between tween the valve 35, 40 and the nozzle 30.
Because the positive change in the opening ratio causes a larger, but now pressure-reduced partial flow to flow through the nozzle 30, the pneumatic counter-load on the pressure chamber 33 is smaller and the cone 35 takes a new position in the valve passage opening, which is determined by the State of equilibrium of the forces moving the cone. The two springs 4 and 36 are matched to one another so that the amount flowing out through the valve 35, 40 reduces the pressure in the chamber 26 by an amount that corresponds to the increase in the force of the spring 4 when the valve 5, 11 is closed.
The control accuracy is not only dependent on the travel-dependent spring force, but also on the existing mechanical friction and the throttle loss in the flow of the gas, in particular on the valve 5, 11.
These factors reducing the pressure constancy are eliminated by the oscillation of the closing element 5, which is designed as a valve disk.
A frictionless swing of the plate 5, the spring 4 and the cans 1, 2 and 3 consist of the mass system is achieved by adjusting the valve seat 11 during the control process, which is done by adjusting the ball-and-socket joint 10, 12 of the support 6. The opening width of the valve must be larger than the oscillation amplitude, because when the valve disk hits the cone, the destruction of the valve surfaces is inevitable.
By relieving the plate 5 from the pressure of the feed gas on the compressor side by designing the two inner plate surfaces 41 and 42 acted upon by the feed gas, as well as a gas passage opening 23 with a narrow gap between the plate surface 41 and the valve seat 11 for the purpose of generating an air cushion in the gap, the increase in the vibration amplitude to the size of the static valve opening is effectively prevented.
The quality of the frequency constancy depends on the oscillation frequency. The greater the frequency, the smaller the change in frequency with different mass flows. The frequency is increased significantly by increasing the difference between the prevailing gas pressures in the chambers 24 and 22, the limit of which is determined by the critical pressure ratio, and by reducing the oscillating masses.
The frictionless or floating mounting of the valve body 5 and the valve cone 35 is significantly enhanced by the size of the cone angle of the valve disk 5 compared to the angle of the cone 11 and the angle of the cone 35 compared to that of the valve seat 40.
