wirkenden, matten Braunton.
Process and means for coloring human hair It is known that combinations of primary aromatic amines and their derivatives with modifying agents, including resorcinol, pyrocatechol, orcin, chlorohydroquinone, α-naphthol, m-aminophenol and others, are used for the oxidative coloring of human hair.
The addition of these modifiers is necessary to achieve certain color nuances and should also contribute to improving the color fastness.
The colorations achieved with the known combinations are not yet satisfactory in terms of lightfastness and fastness to wear and permeability. In particular, a gradual red shift is observed in matt, natural-looking blonde and brown tones. To prevent this phenomenon, 3-alkoxy-4-aminodiphenylamines, which give oxidative green colorations, are recommended.
However, these products can only be used in an acidic or weakly alkaline medium, but not in the more alkaline hair coloring systems. It is therefore not possible to build them into the currently used colorants. Dimethylaniline and 4-amino-dimethylaniline have also been proposed to achieve matt effects. In the case of the first compound, however, the penetrative odor stands in the way of use in cosmetic preparations, whereas in the case of both compounds, however, their pronounced toxicity.
In addition, the dyeings achieved therewith have a low lightfastness.
It has now been found that m-dialkylaminophenols, in particular m-dimethylaminophenol, have an excellent modifying effect for achieving dull green oxidation colorations. This effect is all the more surprising as the primary amine on which these compounds are based, the m-aminophenol, which is also used as a modifier, leads to blue-violet oxidative coloring.
The m-dialkylamino-phenols lead in combination with an aromatic p-diamine, for. B. p-Toluylendiamiin, with oxidative coloring on human hair, depending on the proportion, to green to natural, matt brown or blonde shades of excellent fastness properties. The colors obtained are resistant to permanent wave treatment (e.g.
Preparations based on thioglycolate), weatherproof, washable and wearable. Furthermore, the agents according to the invention which contain m-dialkylamino-phenols as a component can also be used normally at the relatively high pH value which is customary for hair colorants.
It is known that dyeings with oxidizing dyes can suffer a red shift after prolonged exposure to light. This red shift can be prevented by using m-dialkylaminophenols, in particular m-dimethylaminophenol, as shading dye.
Another advantage of the inventive means is that it tion dyes with all the usual Oxyda such. B. aromatic p-diamines, results in a green shift, so that no abnormal colorations are obtained in the application of the mixtures customary in hair dyeing practice.
m-Dimethylaminophenol and m-diethylaminophenol are physiologically compatible. This is in agreement with the findings of S. Borelli (Dermatologist 9, No. 1, 19, 21 [1958]) on the behavior of m aminophenol.
<I> Example 1 </I> 8 parts of an aqueous solution containing 1% toluene diamine and 0.25% resorcinol are mixed with 2 parts of a 1% m-dimethylaminophenol solution and 0,
5 parts of a 25% ammonia solution mixed. Shortly before coloring, 10 parts of a 6% strength hydrogen peroxide solution are added and this solution is allowed to act on medium brown human hair at 32 ° C. for 20 minutes. After rinsing and drying, the hair appears very natural
appearing, matt brown tone.
<I> Example 2 </I> 20 <B> '</B> Cetyl alcohol, 2 g sodium cetyl alcohol sulfate and 5 g wool wax are heated to melt and emulsified with 40 g water at 70 C. A hot solution of 0.3 g of tolylenediamine, 0.08 g of resorcinol, 0.01 g of m-aminophenol and 0.1 g of m-dimethylamino-phenol in 25 cm3 of water is added to the still hot emulsion.
Then 10 cm3 of 25% NH3 are added and the mixture is stirred while cold. For coloring, 50 <B> 9 </B> of this cream are mixed with 20 cm3 of 6% H202 and applied to human hair
Brought action. After a dyeing time of 30 minutes, you get a natural-looking, matt blonde shade.
