Electric heating body provided with means for its attachment in a receptacle The present invention relates to an electric heating body provided with means for its attachment in a receptacle, one wall of which has an opening for the passage of said heating body.
The heating body according to the invention is charac terized in that it has at least two branches each comprising a projection intended to abut against the inner face of the wall of the receptacle after the heating body has been introduced by approximation. flexible of its branches in said opening, and a flange provided with holes, for the passage of the ends of the branches and intended to cover the opening outside the container.
The drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the heating body forming the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a side elevational view partially in section of the heating body.
Fig. 2 is a front view of this device. Fig. 3 is a schematic view of a variant. The electric heating body shown has the shape of a pin and can be placed in a closed container, for example, a water heater, of which only part of a 2-shaped wall has been shown.
This wall has an elongated opening 3 through which the heating body 1 is introduced into the container. A flange 4 intended to come over the opening 3 to the outside of the container has two oblong holes 5 for the passage of the ends 1 'of the heating body 1. Each end the com carries a metal tab 6 folded into 7 at right angles and welded to said end, the folded part 7 constituting a stop intended to come to rest against the inner face of the wall 2 of the container after the heating body has been introduced into the opening 5.
The flange 4 has on the side facing the wall 2 a housing 8 for a sealing gasket 9 intended to be compressed against the outer face of the wall 2. On the other side, the flange 4 has two housings 10 around oblong holes 5 each intended to receive a washer 11 of a flexible material and a metal washer 12, holding the ends 1 'with the stops 7 behind the wall 2 of the container. Each end protrudes outside the container when the body. heater is in place, has a threaded portion 13 on which a nut 14 is screwed.
Terminals 15 with nuts (not shown) terminate the ends 1 'and are used to supply the electric current to the coil of the heating body. An earth terminal 17 is connected to the earth of the heating body 1 by a wire 18.
The positioning of the heating body in the receptacle and its attachment to the wall thereof using the device described are carried out as follows The ends 1 'of the heating body 1 are movable relative to each other to the other so that after having introduced said heating body into the opening 5, the two ends 1 'are brought closer to each other until the stops 7 pass through the opening 5 then we
releases them so that these stops come to rest behind the internal face of the wall 2 as shown in FIG. 1. The nuts 14 are then tightened so as to block the flange 4 against the outer face of the wall 2 and thus to fix the heating body.
Instead of comprising only a single pin-shaped element as shown in FIG. 1, the heating body could be formed of several elements (for example, in the case of three-phase current) fixed at one end and the free ends of which carrying stop members could be moved relative to each other so as to be able to bring these stop members behind the wall of the container when the heating body is introduced through the opening provided for this purpose.
In the variant shown in FIG. 3, the heating body has two ends 19 and 20 constituted by two elements connected at 22 and a separate element 21 passing through the flange 4 'to which it is welded. The ends 19 and 20 each carry a stop member 7 'intended to come to rest against the inner face of the wall 2' of the container, as in the case of the embodiment described above.
The flange 4 'could also carry a thermostatic or other control device, extending between the two ends 19 and 20, and replacing the element 21 of the heating body.
