  Electrolytic installation with automatic operation
In the main patent, an electrolytic installation with automatic operation has been described comprising treatment tanks associated with transfer devices comprising at least one arm provided with gripping members, this arm being mounted to pivot so as to be able to perform the movements necessary for the supply of the first container with parts to be treated, the transfer of these parts from one container to another and, once processed, their distribution to the unloading station.

Such an installation has various drawbacks, in particular when the transfer devices are intended to handle heavy loads.

In fact, in this case, we are led to use mechanical devices with a high cost price and it is difficult to achieve a double control of the pivoting arm, a double control essential if we want to avoid the effects of torsion and flexion to which this arm is subjected.

In all cases, the speed of movement of the arm can only be adjusted during operation by changing pulleys or pairs of gears, relatively complex and expensive solutions.

Finally, it is practically impossible to obtain different speeds, loaded and empty.

The object of the present invention is to improve the installation, the general characteristics of which have just been recalled. It is characterized by the fact that the swivel arm is controlled by means of an oleo-pneumatic unit allowing the handling of heavy loads.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of a transfer device that comprises the installation forming the subject of the invention.

The transfer device comprises at least one pivoting gripping arm 54 controlled by means of an oleo-pneumatic unit comprising two jacks.

The cylinders of these jacks, housed in a casing 49a, are designated by 66 and 66a and their net rods, pectives by 67 and 67a.

The pressurized gaseous fluid controlling these jacks is admitted at 68 and 68a at the lower part of the cylinders 66-66a while the liquid fluid is admitted at 69-69a at their upper part. The distributors 70 for the liquid fluid and 71 for the gaseous fluid are coupled and include a return device in neutral, that is to say a locking of all the circuits.

The ends 67b-67c of the rods 67 and 67a of the jacks are connected for example by means of a belt or a chain 72 passing over a pulley or over a toothed wheel 73, wedged at the end of the shaft 57 of the arm 54 that it is a matter of rotating to grab a load, move it to a specific location and drop it when needed.

For the direction of travel indicated by the arrows, the gaseous fluid under pressure - for example compressed air - is admitted at 68 in the bottom of the cylinder 66, while the liquid fluid - for example oil - contained in the upper part of this same cylinder passes through the distributor 70 to reach the cylinder 66a. This liquid fluid finds on its path a flow regulator 74 which makes it possible to modify at will the speed of movement of the moving equipment and consequently the speed of rotation of the pulley 73 and of the shaft 57 carrying the arm 54.

The opening of the distributor 70 is controlled by means of an electromagnet 75. When it is desired to obtain the stopping of the device, it suffices to cut off the current on this electromagnet, this breaking causing the total locking of the circuits.

The reverse direction of travel is obtained by energizing a second electromagnet 76 controlling the distributor 71. The oil is delivered to the distributor 70 through a regulator 77 which makes it possible to obtain a new displacement speed of the mobile crew.

Of course, the jacks may include a conventional end-of-stroke damping device.

The device described above is more particularly applicable in the case where the handling means consists of a single arm 54.

In the case of a double arm, such as that shown in FIG. 12 of the main patent, the second arm will be supported by an upright and will receive its movement by means of an appropriate transmission (not shown) actuated by a transverse shaft 57a controlled by a pulley or toothed wheel 78 driven by a transmission 79 connected mechanically to rods 67-67a.
