Process for the preparation of basic phthalocyanine dyes It has been found that new basic phthalocyanine dyes are obtained if phthalocyanine sulfochlorides are reacted with aliphatic, primary or secondary amines which contain halogen in or in at least one aliphatic radical and the halogen compounds thus obtained are converted into one second reaction stage can act with secondary amines re.
Suitable aliphatic, primary or secondary amines are, for. B. ss-chloro-ethylamine, ss, y-dibromopropylamine, 1-amino-4-chloro-butane or ss, ss-dichloro-diethylamine.
Secondary amines that can be used for the second reaction stage are, for. B. dimethylamine, diethylamine, diethanolamine and piperidine.
The reaction can be carried out either in an aqueous medium or in an inert organic solvent. To bind the hydrogen halide released in the reaction, the amines are either used in excess or acid-binding agents, such as. B. caustic potash or alkali carbonate, too.
When working in aqueous suspension, it can be advantageous to accelerate the reaction by using catalytic amounts of piperidine.
In general, temperatures in the range from 0-100 have proven to be suitable as the reaction temperature.
The present method can e.g. B. be carried out in such a way that the amines with the halogen-containing dyes are set with stirring. The reaction can be carried out either in water or in an inert solvent, such as. B. Acetone or benzene, or in an excess of the orga African base. The reaction mixture is advantageously stirred for some time at room temperature and then warmed for a short time in order to complete the reaction. The basic dye formed in the reaction can generally be obtained from the reaction mixture by filtration as a result of its insolubility in water.
The dyes obtained according to the invention can NEN in weakly acidic solution for dyeing fiber materials of all kinds, such as. B. wool, cellulose, regenerated cellulose, synthetic fibers, paper, wood, etc., are used. The per se water-insoluble dyes are absorbed very well on these materials from dilute acidic solutions and thus result in dyeings with exceptional wet fastness properties.
Some products in this series of dyes are in organic solvents, such as. B. ethyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol, esters, aromatic hydrocarbons, dimethylformamide, soluble and are therefore also suitable for dyeing films or printing for rubber.
It was surprising that even dyes with a very high molecular weight by introducing at least one tertiary amino group are readily soluble in dilute acids, e.g. B. acetic acid. Furthermore, it could not be foreseen that the salts of these dyes which are formed with dilute acids would show a very high affinity, which corresponds at least approximately to the affinity of the quaternary ammonium compounds.
Example 1 57.5 parts of copper phthalocyanine are introduced into 300 parts of chlorosulfonic acid. The mixture is stirred at 113 to 15 to 2.7 to 3.0 sulfo groups have entered the copper phthalocyanine molecule. Then 350 parts of thionyl chloride are added dropwise at 90 to 95 in 3 hours and the mixture is stirred at this temperature until all sulfonic acid groups have been converted into sulfochloride groups.

To isolate the dye formed, the excess dimethylamine is largely driven off and the dye is precipitated by adding sodium chloride solution (and possibly some hydrogen chloride), filtered off with suction and washed. The reaction product is soluble in dilute acetic acid with a clear blue color. Very good yield.
Example 4 14.5 parts by weight of tetraphenyl copper phthalocyanine tetra-sulfochloride are added in paste form to 80 parts by weight of ice / ice water and, at 0 to 5, with 7 parts by weight of chloroethylamine chlorohydrate, dissolved in 10 parts by weight . Parts of water, added.

5 parts by weight of the tetraphenyl copper phthalocyanine tetra (β-chloroethyl) sulfamide thus obtained are added in paste form to 50 parts by weight of dimethylamine solution (-50%).
The mixture is then stirred for 20 hours at room temperature, 1 part by weight of sodium hydroxide dissolved in a little water is added and, when the conversion is complete, the excess dimethylamine is removed, sodium acetate solution is added if necessary, the reaction product is filtered off with suction and washed. The yield of the dye, which is soluble in acetic acid and has a clear green color, is practically quantitative. Example 5 The first stage is carried out as in Example 1.
