Description

Method and machine for processing folded paper goods, e.g. exercise books, stacks of paper or the like, which method includes a trimming and separating process. The invention relates to a method and a machine for processing folded paper goods, z. B. of exercise books, stacks of paper and the like, which method includes a loading cutting and separating process. The Ma machine is advantageous as an attachment for other Ferti supply machines such. B. wire stitching machines, gluing machines, high-speed presses, rotary presses, out forms to complete their products in a coherent operation.

In the known for similar purposes Ver drive the combined trimming and cutting, the workpiece is first divided in the middle; then the two resulting parts are trimmed on the sides. Here, the severing cut is associated with the fact that the two new parts that are created during the severing must be moved from the center for further processing. As a result, the space available at the relevant point is limited; In addition, the readjustment of the machine when the format is changed is cumbersome and results in a longer interruption in operation.

These disadvantages are to be avoided with the method according to the invention in that after the workpiece has been placed on a first conveyor table, the workpiece is trimmed parallel to the conveying direction of this table, but the further operations are carried out at right angles to the conveying direction mentioned above, that the trimming and separating knives are always parallel to the respective conveying direction of the workpiece.

Changing the direction of conveyance of the work piece at right angles after the longitudinal cut has the advantage that the work piece does not need to be pulled transversely under the knife when it is being moved, because it is associated with staying and causing other disturbances.

The drawing illustrates, in a schematic representation, the floor plan of an embodiment of the machine according to the invention, which is necessary for performing an exemplary form of the method according to the invention.

The general floor plan of the machine is in the form of a right angle with two legs 1 and 2 of unequal length. The material A to be cut is fed from the free end of the shorter leg 1 onto the first conveyor table, and this is also parallel to its conveying direction Be cut the long side of the workpiece A with the knife 3 made.

Then the change in the conveying direction occurs at right angles, the trimmed material A being moved in the usual way against the stop and in this position on one short side with the knife 4 is cut. Now, always with the same between temporal conveyance, there is a transverse displacement of the material to be cut A and then the other short side is trimmed with the knife 5. After the workpiece A has been straightened again, the cutting is done with the knife 6, so that two constant , mostly the same parts A arise.

Now, as a further trimming process, rounding the corners of both parts A can be done with punching knives at 7.

The next operation, which forms the decision to manufacture, is the stacking of the end product to about five pieces of the two parts A. Of course, a single trimming process, e.g. B. the Eckenriuiden, can be turned off by the tool in question is taken out or raised so that it does not come into effect.

It follows from the above that the right-angled plan shape of the machine eliminates the need to push the workpiece transversely under the trimming knives, which is associated with significant advantages in terms of design and operational aspects.
