Fig. 13 zeigt eine Vorderansicht einer anderen Ausführungsform.
L in Fig. 7 befindet.
Button hole sewing device on a zigzag sewing machine The invention relates to a buttonhole sewing device on a zigzag sewing machine, in particular special for use in the household, with a laterally movable needle bar rocker that can be positively driven by a toothed cam disc, a bottom, back and forth movable fabric conveyor , and individually adjustable organs for regulating the stitch width, the fabric feed and the starting position of the zigzag seam.
The buttonhole sewing device according to the invention is characterized in that, in order to produce the individual sections of a buttonhole seam while the needle bar rocker is driven by the said cam disk, at least two of the regulating elements can be coupled to one another by means of a device for transmitting setting movements from an externally operated handle to the regulating elements, that by successive adjustments of the handle in different switch positions, the coupled control elements are simultaneously brought into the corresponding control positions in the seam sections.

Fig. 13 shows a front view of another embodiment.
The sewing machine shown in Fig. 1 to 7 has a housing 1 with a base 2 for the sewing material and a cantilevered sewing arm 3, which carries a needle bar rocker 4 with slide bearings for a movable in its longitudinal direction, in the wesent union vertical needle bar 5 at its free end . This is driven from the main drive shaft 6 of the machine by means of a crank mechanism, not shown, which is known per se. The needle bar can also be moved laterally in that the rocker 4 can be pivoted about a horizontal, transverse axis 7.
For bringing about the transverse movement, the drive shaft 6 is verbun through a worm gear 8 (Fig. 3) with a cam 9 on a rigidly mounted in the sewing arm, transverse journal 10 the. A cam follower 11 rests against the periphery of the cam disk, said cam follower being pivotable about a pin 12 and the rear side of which forms a guide 13 for a finger 14 on a handlebar 15.
The same is at one end 16 with the needle rod rocker 4 and at its other end 17 by a handlebar 18 with an arm 19 on a shaft 20 mounted in the housing articulated a related party, the latter with a handle 21 (Fig. 2) and one friction brake not shown is provided. The rocker 4 is under the action of a spring 22. Under the pressure of this spring, the finger 14 rests against the cam follower 11 and the latter rests against the cam disk 9.
The circumference of this cam disk is toothed in such a way that an ordinary zigzag seam is obtained with a width, called the stitch width, which depends on the distance between the center of oscillation of the cam follower and the contact point of the guide 13 with the finger 14. This distance can be adjusted by rotating the shaft 20, which thus forms a control element for the stitch width.
The center of oscillation of the cam follower, the pin 12, is carried by one arm of a winch lever 25 which is pivotable about a pin 26 which is supported by a plate 27, not shown in FIG. 1, rigidly connected to the housing. Under the pressure of a spring 28 is the other arm of the lever against the periphery of a cam 29 on a GE in the housing superimposed shaft 30, which the latter with a handle 31, Fig. 2, is provided.
In Fig. 1 only a part of the circumference of this cam and other cam disks mounted on the shaft 30 shows GE. By rotating this shaft, the pin 12 can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the handlebar 15, whereby the starting position of the zigzag seam (stitch field position) can be changed in a known manner. The lever 25 thus forms a control element for the initial position.
The shape of the cam disk 29 is such that the starting position is right, center and left when the handle 31 is in position R, G or L in FIG. 7.
A cloth conveyor 35 is driven by the shaft 6 by a mechanism known per se and comprising a fork rod 36 which is articulated at its lower end to an arm 37 on an oscillating shaft 38 connected to the conveyor, and to its upper, The fork-shaped end comprises an eccentric 39 on the drive shaft 6. A slider 40 rotatably mounted on the fork rod is displaceable in a rotatable link 41 with a rotational axis 42 mounted in the housing.
Through the eccentric 39, the fork rod is given a swinging movement and a simultaneous movement in its longitudinal direction depending on the angular position of the backdrop, where the conveyor 35 receives its horizontal movement back and forth. The vertical Be movement of the conveyor is through a mounted on the drive shaft 6 eccentric 43, Fig. 3, be acts, which is connected by an eccentric rod 44 with a tilting shaft, not shown, which is operable ver in a known manner with the conveyor.
The gate 41 is actuated counterclockwise in Fig. 5 by a spring 45 and carries a driver pin 46 which, under the pressure of the spring, rests normally against a lug 47 on a lever 48 which is pivotably mounted on the shaft 42 and is extends through an opening in the front wall of the housing. Outside this wall, the lever carries a nut 49 which can be adjusted by hand in its longitudinal direction and which limits the pivotability of the lever by resting against a plate 50 attached to the housing.
When the lever and thus also the link 41 are in a central position, the horizontal movement of the conveyor 35, and thus also the stitch length, is zero. When the lever is pivoted to its lower, by means of the nut 49 veränder union end position, the feed takes place with a stitch length that depends on the angle of rotation of the backdrop, and if the same is pivoted upward ge, backward thrust takes place with the same stitch length. The backdrop thus forms a control element for the size and direction of the feed. As far as the main part of the machine is known.
The regulating members 20, 25 and 41 can be connected to each other by means of a mechanical movement transmission device attached in the machine housing. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 to 7, a handlebar 60 is articulated at its lower end with an arm 61 on the shaft 20, and at its upper end with a longitudinal slot 62 for the shaft 30 and with two pins 63, 64 provided, specifically for cooperation with each of two cams 65, 66 which are fixedly attached to the shaft 30 on opposite sides of the handlebar.
A second steering rod 67 is provided at one end, on the left in FIGS. 1 and 3, with a pin 68 which is slidably mounted in a slot 69 in the fixed plate 27 running in the longitudinal direction of the rod and with one on the shaft 30 attached cam disc 70 cooperates (Fig. 4). The other end of the rod is articulated by means of a pin 71 to one arm of an angle lever 72, which is vertically pivotable about a pin 73 mounted in the housing, and the other arm is provided with a finger 74 for actuating the pin 46 on the link 41 is.
The mutual stand from the pin 71 and 73 is easily adjustable by the pin 71 is mounted in a slot 76 provided with a number of Be tenausbaren 75 in the lever 72 and in one of these Aussparun conditions by a rod between the lever and the handlebar 67 tensioned tension spring 77 is held.
Those parts of the cams 65, 66 which are located in front of the pins 63 and 64, respectively, when the handle 31 for the shaft 30 is in positions R and L or between, have such a small radius that these cams the handlebar 60 do not operate when the handle is turned between positions R and L. The shape of the cam 70 is also such that this cam does not actuate the handlebar 67 when the handle is rotated between the positions R and L. The regulating members 20, 25 and 41 can thus be adjusted individually by hand when the handle 31 is in the range of motion between the positions R and L.
For sewing a buttonhole according to FIG. 8, the shape of the cams is otherwise such that the control elements are operated together as follows. The handle 31 is first rotated to the right to a position A, FIG. 7, which, like position L, gives the left starting position. As a result of this rotation, the cams 65, 66 have actuated the pins 63, 64 and thus the steering rod 60 to such an extent that the shaft 20 is set in a position which corresponds to approximately half the maximum stitch width.
At the same time, the cam 70 has the steering rod 67 to the right in Fig. 1 and 3 be actuated that the link 41, with its pin 46 resting against the finger 74 on the lever 72, is rotated to a position that a backward thrust with there is less stitch length. With the handle 31 in position A, a straight zigzag seam 80 is thus obtained with backward thrust. When this has obtained the desired length, the handle is turned to a position B, which is the central starting position.
During the rotation from A to B , such upward displacement of the handlebar 60 is effected by the cam 66 and allows the cam 65 to set the shaft 20 in a position that gives the full stitch width. At the same time, the cam 70 has allowed a rotation of the gate 41 under the action of the spring 45 in a position which gives zero stitch length. With the handle 31 in position B, a lock 81 is obtained at one end of the buttonhole. After the locking has obtained the desired density, the handle is turned to a position C, which, like position R, gives the right starting position. During the rotation from B to C, a return of the handlebar 60 and the shaft 20 to a position which is the same stitch width as the position A is effected by the cam 65 and allowed by the cam 66.
At the same time, the cam 70 has allowed a rotation of the link under the action of the spring 45 to a position which has the same stitch length as position A, but provides forward thrust. With the handle in position C, a zigzag seam 82 is thus obtained with forward thrust, which is the same as the seam 80, but to the right of this. When the seam 82 has become approximately the same length as the seam 80, the handle is placed in a position D, which in turn is the central starting position. As a result of the rotation from C to D , the cam 66 has set the shaft again into a position for the full stitch width through the steering rod 60, and the cam 70 has a rotation of the gate through the steering rod 67 and the lever 72 acts against the action of the spring 45 to a position for the stitch length zero be.
With the handle in position D, a lock 83 corresponding to lock 81 is thus obtained at the other end of the buttonhole, and the buttonhole seam is thus completed. By further rotation of the handle 31 to Be rich R-L, the regulating members 20, 25 and 41 are again individually adjustable. Some straight fastening stitches, for example in position G, can then be effected with a small forward or backward thrust. The cams can possibly be shaped in such a way that such fastening stitches can be made while the control elements are still coupled together and the handle 31 is in a position between the positions D and L. The stitch length at the seams 80 and 82 can, for. B.
The thread thickness used can be adjusted by manually moving the pin 71 from one recess 75 to another in the slot 76 before the buttonhole seam is started. While this is being established, the lever 48 should be in its position for maximum forward thrust.
In the modification according to FIGS. 9 to 12, the initial position and the feed are adjustable by rotating the shaft 20 to the handle for setting the stitch width. Parts 29 and 60-71 are omitted here. Instead, each of the levers 25 and 72 is connected to an arm 104 and 103 on the shaft 20 by a handlebar 101 and 102, respectively. One on the inner end of the shaft 30 eccentrically to the subordinate pin 105 engages between two fork legs 106 and 107 on the lever 25 a. The movement of the lever 72 counterclockwise to the clock in FIG. 9 is limited by an adjustable stop, conveniently in the form of an adjusting screw 108.
The arms 103 and 104 are rotatably mounted on the shaft 20, but can be connected to the same by a manually operated friction clutch, FIGS. 10 to 12. The shaft 20 is hollow here and has two longitudinal, diametrically opposed slots 109 for two Wing 110 is provided on a coupling part 111. The arms 103 and 104 are mounted between a ring 112 and the part 111 firmly attached on the shaft 20, the latter being held against the arms by a screw-shaped compression spring 113 and slidable on an axially displaceable rod 114 mounted in the shaft is stored.
This rod has a stop 115 for the interaction with the coupling part 111 and is axially actuatable at its front end by means of a handle on the hand 21 of the shaft 20 attached coupling arm 116, which is around a pin 117 between the coupling position shown in FIG a decoupling position shown with dotted lines is pivotable. When the coupling part 111 rests with its wings 110 under the pressure of the spring 113 against the arm 104 located at the next most, the arms 103 and 104 are on the shaft 20 by a frictional engagement between the parts 103, 104 and <B achieved by means of the spring > 111 coupled.
When the coupling arm 116 is unfolded to its uncoupling position, it moves the rod 114 and, through its stop 115, also the coupling part 111 against the action of the spring 113 a little to the right in Fig. 10, whereby the said frictional engagement is canceled and arms 103, 104 thus released. The arm 104 is provided on its side facing the coupling part 111 with two flat, sector-shaped, diametrically opposed elevations 118 with bevelled sides.
The axial position of the stop 115 on the rod 114 is here such that the arm 116 also holds the rod 114 in its coupling position in such a position that the coupling part 111 counteracts the spring 113 under the pressure the stop 115 and not against the arm 104 if the wings 110 are not in front of the elevations 118.
When the coupling arm 116 is in the decoupling position, the parts 20, 25 and 41 are individually adjustable, the lever 25 with its upper fork leg 106 resting against the pin 105 on the shaft 30 under spring pressure. By rotating this shaft, the height of the pin and thus also the starting position of the seam can be varied.
To sew a buttonhole seam according to FIG. 8, the organs 20, 30 and 48 are first set in positions corresponding to the stitch width zero, the right starting position or a feed with a small stitch length, the lever 72 against the pin 46, for example, from a weak, not shown spring is held. The position of the adjusting screw 108 should be such that the lever 72 can only be rotated counterclockwise in FIG. 9 to a position corresponding to a backward thrust with the same stitch length.
The arm 116 is then folded down into the coupling position, the wings 110 on the coupling part 111 coming under the pressure of the spring 113 to rest against the elevations 118 on the arm 104, so that the arms 104 and 103 are coupled to the shaft 20. Then this shaft is rotated counterclockwise in Fig. 9 to an intermediate position, which corresponds approximately to half the maximum stitch width, whereby the lever 72 to lie against the adjusting screw 108, and the fork leg 107 des Lever 25 is brought to rest against the pin 105, so that these levers are set for a small push back or the left starting position.
The distance between the fork legs 106, 107 is such that the left starting position is obtained, not only when the leg 106 rests against the pin 105 while this is in its upper position, but also when the leg 107 against the pin 105 while it is in its lower position. The sewing is then begun, the seam 80 in FIG. 8 being obtained first with pushing back. After this has received the desired length, the shaft 20 is rotated further counterclockwise to a third position, corresponding to the full stitch width.
The arms 103 and 104 are prevented by the aforementioned contact between the parts 105, 107 and 72, 108 from taking part in this rotary movement. The wings 110 therefore slide off the elevations of the arm 104, whereby the arms 103, 104 are decoupled from the shaft 20, so that the parts 25 and 41 under the action of the spring 28 and 45 again for the right starting position or low advance adjusted. In this third position of the shaft, the lock 81 is thus obtained. The shaft 20 is then rotated back to its aforementioned intermediate position, the arms 103, 104 remaining uncoupled and the parts 25, 41 thus remaining in their last-mentioned positions. With the parts 20, 25 and 41 in this mutual position, the seam 82 will thus keep it.
The shaft is then rotated again into its third position, corresponding to the full stitch width, the arms 103, 104 still being uncoupled, and the parts 25, 41 remaining in their last-mentioned positions. With the parts 20, 25 and 41 in this opposite position, the lock 83 is thus obtained. Finally, the shaft 20 is rotated back to its first position, corresponding to the stitch width zero, where at the lever 25, and thus also the arm 104, is held back by the pin 105, so that the wings 110 run onto the elevations 118 and the arms 103, 104 in turn coupled to the shaft 20 who the, in positions corresponding to a low advance or the right starting position.
With the parts 20, 25 and 41 in this mutual position, in which they were originally coupled together, some fastening stitches are finally acted, whereupon the adjustability of the parts mentioned can each be restored by opening the arm 116, or with a new buttonhole seam can be started immediately.
According to a modification of the device according to FIGS. 9 to 12, the elevations 118 can be omitted, and the arm 104 can consequently be flat in the range of movement of the wings 110. When sewing a buttonhole seam according to FIG. 8, the shaft 20 can be maneuvered as above. After the first turn into the position for the full stitch width, however, the arms 103, 104 remain in positions due to friction against the coupling part 111, corresponding to backward thrust or
the left starting position, which is why the interlock 81 here causes reverse thrust and partially covers the seam 80: The subsequent rotations of the shaft cause advance and right starting position (seam 82), reverse thrust and left starting position (locking 83) and finally advance and right out initial position (fastening stitches).
13 shows a further embodiment which, apart from the movement transmission device between the three control elements, essentially corresponds to the device described above, although the lever 48 here, as usual, with the link 41, which does not need to be spring-operated , is rigidly connected.
The motion transmission device here comprises two sleeves or rings 91 and 92, which are expediently elastic or provided with an internal covering made of elastic material such as rubber, and which are attached to the handle 31 for setting the starting position of the zigzag seam or to the handle 21 to adjust the stitch width. The rings 91 and 92 have radially directed lever arms 95 and 96 which are articulated by a coupling rod 97. The lever arm 95 is provided with a pin 98 at a small distance from the ring 91.
This pin is in engagement with a slot 99 in one end of a two-armed lever 93 which is mounted on a pin 94 protruding from the sewing machine housing. The other end of the lever is fork-shaped and encloses the hand lever 48 for setting the size and direction of the material feed. In the position shown in FIG. 13, the handle 31 is set for the central starting position of the seam. Since the coupling rod 97 and the lever 95 are directed radially from the center of rotation of the handle 31 ge, and the handle 21 is at the maximum stitch width, while the arm 48 is set for a feed equal to zero.
To sew a buttonhole according to FIG. 8, the handle 31 can be set by turning to the right for the right starting position of the seam, where the coupling rod 97 changes the handle 21 so that approximately half the maximum stitch width is obtained, and the lever 93 sets the arm 48 to a certain, small rearward advance. With this setting, the seam 82 is sewn on the right side of the buttonhole. When this has reached the desired length, the handle 31 is switched to its central position, the handle 21 and the arm 48 are brought into the position shown in Fig. 13, the full stitch width and give zero feed.
This adjustment creates a lock 81 at one end of the buttonhole and is maintained until the lock has obtained the desired density. The handle 31 is then turned to the left in order to give the left starting position for the seam. The coupling rod 97 adjusts the handle 21 again so that half the stitch width is obtained, and the lever 93 adjusts the arm 48 to a certain small forward thrust. The machine then sews seam 80 on the left side of the button hole. When the seam 80 has almost reached the starting point of the seam 82, the handle 31 is returned to its central position, and this gives rise, in the manner described above, to a second lock 83 being formed and the buttonhole thus being completed.
The described adjustments of the handle 31 can be made without difficulty while the machine is running, and attention can be focused on the resulting seam all the time. For the restoration of the individual mobility of the maneuver organs, the rings 91 and 92 can be easily removed from the handles concerned, with the lever arms and the coupling rod follow along. The lever 93 can then be pulled off the pin 94.
Other embodiments are of course also possible. Thus, the movement transmission device can also be actuated by means of a fourth, especially its handle, instead of the handle (31) of one of the three control elements. The device can of course also be used in machines in which the control element for the feed can be adjusted manually and separately by means of a rotatable handle instead of a pivotable lever (48).
The present device can also be used advantageously in machines in which the stitch width, the starting position and / or the feed can be regulated both manually and automatically.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 7, the cam follower 11 can be selectively connected in a known manner to the cam disk 9 and a number of cam disks 9a, 9b which are rotating and axially displaceable therewith in a different shape (FIG. 2) corresponding to an ornamental seam be.
