Closing device for container
The present invention relates to a closure device for a container, comprising a neck terminated by a tip pierced with a distribution channel, characterized in that this tip is of generally spherical shape, a cap of generally U-shaped section. being forced by its cheeks on this spherical tip so as to be able to be tilted to release the distribution channel, the middle part of the cap forming a flexible membrane intended to be applied in a sealed manner on the tip in the closed position of the channel .
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the closure device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a sectional view of this device, of which
fig. 2 is a side elevational view.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of this device.
This closure device is intended to be applied to any container comprising a neck 1 terminated by a nozzle 2 pierced with a distribution channel 3. Such a container may consist of a glass or plastic bottle, or optionally by a flexible plastic tube such as tubes for toothpaste or cosmetic products.
As shown in the drawing, the tip 2 of the container is generally spherical in shape. A cap 4, of generally U-shaped section, is forced by its cheeks 5 on this spherical end piece 2. As shown in FIG. 1, the cheeks 5 are themselves hollowed out internally in a spherical manner. The middle part 6 of the cap 4 forms a flexible membrane intended to be applied in a sealed manner on the end piece 2 in the closed position of the channel 3.
In the example shown, this middle part 6 of the cap 4 has, on its internal face, a central boss 7 intended to engage in the mouth 8 of the distribution channel 3, in the closed position thereof.
In addition, said internal face of the cap 4 has a lip 9 extending circularly around the boss 7, this lip being intended to come to rest elastically on the end piece 2, around the mouth 8 of the channel 3, in position closing.
The cap 4 is provided, on the other hand, with two wings 10 intended to allow its operation. In fact, it suffices to exert pressure on one of the wings 10 to cause the cap 4 to tilt around an axis passing through the center of the spherical tip 2. A slight pressure is necessary at the start of the movement. tilting to cause the boss 7 to exit out of the mouth 8, after which the boss 7 and the circular lip 9 slide around the mouthpiece 2, freeing the outlet orifice 8 from the channel 3.
The closing operation is carried out by reversing the cap 4 by exerting pressure on the opposite ally 10 thereof, so as to bring the boss 7 back into the mouth 8 of the channel 3.
To increase the flexibility of the middle part 6 of the cap 4, the latter has two hollowed-out late striped parts 11.
Preferably, this closure device is made of a molded or pressed material called plastic, polyethylene, polystyrene, etc. The cap 4, which is forced by its cheeks 5 around the nozzle 2, holds on the latter by its inherent elasticity.
Of course, many variant embodiments of this closure device for a container could be imagined. Thus, instead of providing two wings 10 on the cap 4, the latter could be provided with a central extension constituting a member for operating the cap. In addition, the edges of the cheeks 5, instead of being circular over approximately half a circumference in their part 12, could be circular only over a quarter of a circumference, so as to only allow the cap 4 to tilt. on one side of the nozzle 2.
The manufacture of the closure device described above is very simple, given that the end piece 2 can be obtained in a spherical shape by a simple turning operation. The cap 4, obtained for example by the press, can be engaged on the end piece 2 very easily by an automatic machine, due to the fact that a slight pressure on this cap 4 is sufficient for it to be placed on the end piece. 2.
Of course, the cap 4 can be manufactured either in a molded or pressed part, or in several parts which can be glued to each other. One could, for example, form the cap 4 in two symmetrical parts then glued one against the other. One could also manufacture the two cheeks 5 separately and then glue them to the central part 6 of the cap 4.
