Friedrich Duss and Jacob Holzäpfel, Neubulach (Calw district, Germany) have been named as inventors. The invention relates to an electric hand grinder with a grinding spindle arranged at right angles to the motor and the fan sitting on the motor shaft. The invention is based on the knowledge that the power, expressed in specific power output per kg dead weight, is largely determined by the intensity of the cooling of the motor.
Investigations and practical experience have shown that insufficient dissipation of the heat loss from the engine is both a limiting factor for the power output of the device and for the service life of the engine.
It has been proposed to cool the bevel gear and the associated ball bearing bracket in a hand angle grinder of the above-mentioned type in that a housing wall enclosing the hochtou ring bevel gear and provided with upstanding cooling fins forms a bed for the upper cooling air flow of the device.
With this arrangement, an optimal air transport, that is, the greatest possible air delivery with a relatively low energy requirement, is not achieved because the most important prerequisites for an eddy-free flow and an axial air transport are missing.
The invention is based on the technical problem of increasing the dissipation of the heat loss from the motor without increasing the energy required for transporting the cooling air so that an outstanding power output per kg weight with increased service life without impairing the double insulation and the mechanical strength of the Grinder is guaranteed.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that an air guide flange is arranged next to the fan designed as an axial fan, the diameter of which is dimensioned such that an annular air gap remains between the housing and the radial outer edge of the air guide flange, at which a large air gap extends through the Transmission cover shielded air outlet opening and, in the housing designed as a closed fitting, connect further outlet openings of such a shape and arrangement that the air flow entering through frontal openings in the motor closing cover and brush bridge, essentially axially entering the machine without deviating from its axially parallel direction, can exit the machine housing.
The blades of the air guide flange, which is closed in itself in the area of the axis, expediently have an inclination opposite the blades of the axial fan.
In the following, the invention is explained using the drawing using an exemplary embodiment. 1 shows the electric hand grinder in longitudinal section; Fig. 2 Arrangement and design of the axial fan and air guide flange in side view.
The machine housing 1 consists of a single part, which receives the engine and transmission. The design of the machine housing as a uniform molded piece brings a reduction in the weight Ge with increased strength of the unit and enables trouble-free transport of the cooling air along its inner wall free of connecting elements.
The motor cover 2, which holds the brush bridge 3 made of insulating material with a central receptacle 2 ', is provided with air inlet openings, which are offset with corresponding openings in the brush bridge. The webs in the motor cover 2 cover the openings in the brush bridge. The largely frontal arrangement of the inlet openings in the motor closure cover and brush bridge enables air to enter the device essentially axially, as can be seen from FIG.
The field package 9 is accommodated in an insulating tube 11, while the axial fan 12 is arranged on the extension of the armature 10 and, following this, the air guide flange 13 made of insulating material.
The maximum air flow rate of the axial fan is achieved in connection with the air guide flange, which on the one hand directs and smooths the air flow that has started rotating in the fan with its blades and on the other hand prevents the reverse air flows that regularly occur without a flange in the area of the axis. The air guide flange also serves to cover the motor; it connects to the axial fan. The diameter of the axial fan is dimensioned so that an annular air gap remains between the housing 1 and the radial outer edge of the air guide flange 13.
The blades of the flange have in the Ausfüh approximately example, as can be seen from Fig. 2, the blades of the impeller 12 opposite inclination. The area of the air guide flange adjacent to the axis is solid. This prevents the reverse air currents that regularly occur without a guide flange on the axis near the fan. Further vortex formation is prevented by the direction and smoothing of the air flow that has started rotating in the fan in the guide vanes of the air guide flange.
On the air guide flange 13 and on the gap between the outer edge of the air guide flange 13 and the housing 1, a large opening 1 ″ closes in the axial direction in the area of the gear cover 16 and further air outlet openings in the machine housing 1 on the rear of the gear unit The position and shape of all outlet openings are such that the air flow, which is guided between the fan and outlet openings under centrifugal action along the housing wall, can exit the machine housing without deviating from its axis-parallel direction. The wall of the machine housing has in all cases up to the outer edges of the openings strict axially parallel course.
The lower outer wall of the machine housing is presented at the end of the engine compartment on the transmission side at 1 'close to the hub 16 on which the protective hood 17 is placed. The large outlet opening 1 ″ is shielded by the gear hub 16 and the protective hood 17. In order to avoid air congestion and vortex formation on this gear hub 16, i.e. outside the machine housing, the bearing 18 of the work spindle 19 is not connected by screws or rivets The axial tight fit for the bearing 18 is rather achieved by face pressure on the axially resilient flange-like bushing 20 on the machine housing; the bore of the bushing 20 also serves as a grease seal for the bearing 18.
The design of the gear lock cover 16 with multi-stage seats 16 ', 16 "and 16"' for receiving the protective hood 17 and for quick, easy and secure clamping of corresponding additional devices with Festspannvorrichtun conditions contributes to the need for a favorable release of the Opening 1 "leaked cooling air bill.
