Clockwork with a second hand shaft in the middle The present invention relates to a clockwork with a second hand shaft in the middle and with an indirect drive, which has three shafts between the big third wheel and the escape pinion, characterized in that one wheel of the second shaft on the one hand a pinion of the third shaft and on the other drives a return pinion, the latter being arranged coaxially freely rotating on the first shaft and connected to a wheel which drives the wheel mounted on the second hand shaft.
The subject matter of the invention is then explained using a figure which shows part of a clockwork in axial section. The clockwork has a spring housing 1 with a toothing 2 which meshes with the toothing of a pinion 4 arranged on a central shaft 3. The large third wheel 5, which drives a first shaft 6 by means of a pinion 7, is connected to the pinion 4. A wheel 8 sits on the pinion 7, both of which are firmly connected to the shaft 6. The wheel 8 meshes with a pinion 9 of a second shaft 10, the movement of which is transmitted by means of a wheel 11 to a further pinion 12 of a third shaft 13.
This third shaft 13 transmits its rotary movement with the aid of a wheel 14 attached to the pinion 12 to an escape wheel pinion 15. In this way, the barrel is in operative connection with the escape wheel.
The second hand is driven parallel to the drive of the escape wheel, in that the wheel 11 not only meshes with the pinion 12 of the third shaft 13, but also with a return pinion 16 which is connected to a wheel 17. The pinion 16 with the wheel 17 fastened thereon sit freely rotating on the first shaft 6, the wheel 17 in engagement with a wheel 18 which is connected to a shaft 19. This shaft 19 is arranged coaxially in the shaft 3. It has a 20 second hand on one end.
As can be seen from the figure, the shaft 6 is supported in a journal bearing 21 by means of journals. This advantageously consists of precious stones. The center distance between the first and the second shaft 6 or 10 is advantageously selected such that it is a whole multiple of the module of the wheel 11 driving the two pinions 12 and 16.
The described arrangement makes it possible, by omitting the return pinion 16 and return wheel 17 and also the wheel 18, the shaft 19 and the second hand 20 when assembling the clockwork, to produce a clockwork for clocks without a second hand. This means that the mentioned movement can be used on a much larger basis.
