Plain bearings for radial pressures, with three sliding support bodies pivoted directly or indirectly on the bearing housing by means of spherical surfaces. The former results from the fact that the shaft in the plain bearing floats in the lubricating film and there is no hard metallic contact between the shaft and the bearing, as is the case with roller bearings, for example.
The latter is given by the fact that, when a shaft is mounted in plain bearings, two cylindrical bearing surfaces are normally present at a certain distance, which can be produced very precisely in their geometric circular and cylindrical shape. The shaft then runs directly in the bearing body with the thinnest possible lubricating film, but without additional intermediate parts, which would also have to have tolerances and thus give rise to vibrations and a certain softness and thus instability due to additional loose systems.
There are also known sliding bearings with inserted, little movable slide support bodies, in which the rear contact surfaces of the slide support bodies are made slightly convex and have some play in their mounting so that they are movable. Such a mounting of the sliding support body on Kugelflä surfaces is by no means to be regarded as ideal, because the slightly convex system touches its counterpart on the housing with a very large radius.
When adjusting the slide support body to the shaft, significant changes in distance between the contact surface of the slide support body on the shaft and the contact surface on the bearing housing can occur. In addition, the loose connection between the sliding support body and the bearing body as such brings additional play, which has the effect of instability in the radial load direction. The specific surface pressure at the point of contact is very high as a result of almost point or line contact. As a result, elastic or permanent material deformation creates additional softness in the bearing in the radial direction.
These disadvantages are eliminated by the invention, which consists in that the spherical surfaces of each slide support body is drawn into its ball socket by means of a spring while ensuring the ability of the slide support body to swing. Appropriately, at least one of the slide support bodies can be readjusted by radial displacement of the associated ball socket. In the case of bearings with variable speed and high load, a radial adjustment of at least one of the slide support bodies can be provided as a function of the heating of the bearing.
For this purpose, for example, one ball socket is provided on a lever which is supported on the one hand on an abutment on the bearing housing and on the other hand on an element that can be adjusted in its flexibility, preferably a spring.
The sliding bearing according to the invention is shown in the drawing in two exemplary embodiments for two different uses, namely the bearing according to FIG. 1 is used on very slow running machines or devices, such as, for example, on circular dividing machines, Goniometers, dividing heads, etc., and the bearing according to FIG. 2 on machines and devices with widely and repeatedly rapidly changing speed, with not too high a load, in which circulating lubrication with a pump is only necessary to a limited extent.
The exemplary embodiment of the bearing shown in cross section in FIG. 1 has three movable slide support bodies <B> 1, </B> 2 and <B> 3. </B> In these slide support bodies Cylindrical steel pins 4, <B> 5 </B> and <B> 6 </B> which are hardened and lapped on their outer spherical surface, firmly pressed in or, as shown, screwed in.
The radius of curvature of these spherical surfaces is selected so large or so small that a mobility of the sliding support bodies <B> 1 </B> to <B> 3 </B> is also guaranteed transversely to the axis of the bearing, without a lateral migration takes place, as is the case with a large radius (slightly spherical). In the longitudinal direction of the shaft, the steel pins lie in the middle of the bearing length.
The counter journals <B> 7, 8 </B> and <B> 9 </B> arranged in the bearing housing fit the steel journals 4, <B> 5 </B> and <B> 6 </B> with their Spherical surface g exactly. The contact surfaces are hardened, ground and lapped and their bearing surface is so large that neither elastic nor permanent deformation occurs when the bearing is subjected to maximum load.
The counter pins <B> 8 </B> and <B> 9 </B> are firmly pressed into the outer bearing ring <B> - </B>, while the counter pins <B> 7 </B> are threaded and a lock nut <B> 7 '</B> so that the smallest possible bearing play can be set at any time.
The steel pins 4, <B> 5 </B> and <B> 6 </B> and the associated counterpart <B> 7, 8 </B> or <B> 9 </B> are fitted with coil springs <B> 10, 11 and 12 are always pressed against each other by means of corresponding connecting screws, so that the connection, which is movable per se, becomes a fixed metallic connection with regard to radial stress and thus additional play cannot occur on these connecting parts. So that the bearing is absolutely firmly supported in the radial direction, in contrast to the known bearings.
As a result of the spherical suspension of the three sliding bodies <B> 1, </B> 2 and <B> 3 </B>, they automatically adjust themselves to the cylinder surface of the shaft, not only in the radial but also in the longitudinal direction, <B > d. </B> h. Edge pressures cannot possibly occur with this bearing, which is the order of the day with fixed bearings and as a result leads to overheating early on. The hydrodynamic pressure development in the lubricating film is ideally present over the entire sliding surface of the sliding blocks due to the self-adjusting pressure cup.
This means that the load capacity of these bearings is extraordinarily high with completely fluid friction, without any mechanical wear. In contrast to the bearing described at the outset, where the slide support bodies are spherically embedded in the lag with little air, in this bearing the slide support bodies are only fastened or held in their spherical suspension. In terms of production technology, this makes things considerably easier.
The explained bearing according to the invention is absolutely stable in the radial direction as a result of the described suspension of the sliding support bodies. In addition to the excellent properties of a well-known bearing with a one-piece bearing shell, which has three short running surfaces offset from one another by 1200 and is supported firmly on the housing at three points, it also has the advantage that no edge compression can occur, as well as the particular advantage compared to this known bearing that the load capacity as a result,
The fact that the sliding support bodies adjust themselves to the shaft and completely support them on their much larger area is many times higher than with that known bearing.
The basic structure of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2 is the same as that according to FIG. 1. However, the sliding support body <B> 1 </B> finds its abutment here, for example, via a lever <B> 13 </B> which, on one side, has its abutment on a cylindrical bearing 14 and, on the other hand, on an underneath Pressure of the spring of the <B> 15 </B> stop screw <B> 16 </B> receives.
The pressure of the spring <B> 15 </B> is so great that when the shaft is running at room temperature, there is just the smallest possible lubricant film thickness between the sliding support bodies and the shaft. The spring <B> 15 </B> must also be kept so strong that it does not yet give way in the direction of the sliding support body <B> 1 </B> when the bearing is under maximum loads. A set screw <B> 17 </B> is to be set so that the sliding support body <B> 1 </B> can move by <B> 1 </B> to 2.11 or only as much as a possible Heating of the shaft is to be expected.
The transmission ratio of the lever <B> 13 </B> must be adjusted so that the sliding support body <B> 1 </B> migrates as much as the shaft has expanded due to heating. This bearing <B> </B> gives </B> with increasing speed due to the associated higher hydrodynamic pressure in the lubricating film from this side itself as much bearing play as the hydrodynamic pressure change, due to changing speeds, requires directly and immediately .
Consequently, with this bearing, which is particularly well suited for rapidly changing speeds, there will be no heat development from the hydrodynamic side in the first place. Since the three sliding support bodies are suspended in a spherical shape, the hydrodynamic pressure wedge can also develop very well over the entire sliding surface and can be used to regulate the respective lubricant film thickness, depending on the hydrodynamic pressure. Heatings due to edge pressure are excluded.
The sliding support bodies must be chamfered at the inlet points of the lubricant at a flat angle, as this allows the lubricant to be drawn in between the sliding support body and the shaft.
