Metal window The invention relates to a metal window which consists of a frame made of steel and a window sash frame made of light metal. The window sash frame is designed as a hollow profile and has two sealing legs that rest against the frame when the window is closed.
Such metal windows are known. Your waterproofing device is done either by planting the metal parts against each other or by elastic intermediate links between the frame and the wing profiles. The elastic intermediate links consist of rubber cords, rubber strips or rubber flags. Hollow profiles made of plastics are also used.
All seals have the task; To cause a contact seal, that is, they are only slightly deformed when the window is closed. They are therefore not able to seal the gaps that arise when the windows are loaded by wind pressure as a result of the elastic deflection of the sash profiles. Deformations are considerable under high wind loads (130 kg per m2). You can achieve size arrangements of up to 3 mm for windows of known design with light metal frames.
The invention eliminates this deficiency. The outer sealing leg of the hollow profile is the only sealing leg in a groove with a rubber-elastic plastic sealing strip which, when the window is closed, is pretensioned by the frame so that it rebounds by at least three times its pretensioned thickness when the load is removed. Advantageously, the outer sealing leg with the rubber-elastic plastic seal is set back with respect to the outer end face of the hollow profile. A foam-like plastic can be used as the material for the sealing strip.
Since a sealing strip is provided on the outer sealing leg, the rainwater cannot penetrate into the space between the two up device legs of the sash profile. The disadvantage that water penetrates into said inter mediate space, all windows in which the seal is BEFE Stigt on the inner sealing leg. A perfect metallic seal cannot be achieved in practice because it is canceled when it is deflected under wind load. Due to the rubber-elastic seal according to the invention, the sealing of the legs is sufficient only on the outside. Even ice formed on the upper edge of the sealing strip during periods of frost is destroyed when the window is opened by the strong rebound of the sealing strip.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in two exemplary embodiments, FIG. 1 showing a cross section through an upper and a lower horizontal window frame part. The upper sash part has double glazing according to the first example, while the lower sash part according to the second example is provided with simple glazing. In Fig. 2, the sealing strip is shown in its relieved position.
The frame 1 made of steel is connected to the masonry 2 in the usual way. The casement consists of the hollow profile 3 made of light metal, which the window pane. or disks ben 4 carries. The hollow profile has the sealing legs 5 and 6, which stand in the closed to the window against contact surfaces 7 and 8 of the frame 1 create. The outer side from sealing leg 5 is advantageous over the outer end face 11 of the hollow profile 3 zurückge sets. The outer sealing leg 5 has a groove 9 into which a sealing strip 10 made of a rubber-elastic plastic is inserted. A foam-like plastic is advantageously used.
The sealing strip 10 is so strongly biased when the window is closed by the contact surface 8 of the frame 1 that it rebounds at Ent load, that is, when opening the window by at least three times its biased thickness. It is achieved that when the window is loaded by wind pressure and the resulting bending of the window frame profiles, there is no gap between the sash frame and the frame and the seal is maintained even under wind pressure.
