Electromagnetic machine The present invention relates to an electromagnetic machine, comprising an armature capable of rotating in a homogeneous cylindrical stator made of a material having a permanent magnetization, this stator comprising at least two poles opposite to each other. , the direction of magnetization being parallel to a diameter of the stator, each pole having a practically uniform cross section over at least part of its length.
This machine is characterized in that said stator is made of an alloy, Fe - Ni - Al - CO - Cu and has, at the level of each pole a reduced transverse section extending parallel to the axis of the stator over a part at the less than the length of the latter. The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the electromagnetic machine according to the invention. Fig. 1 is a plan view. Fig. 2 is a section on a larger scale, by a plane passing through the axis of rotation of the armature.

Fig. 6 is an end view of the bay support, showing in position the insulating part shown in FIG. 5. FIG. 7 is an end view of this embodiment, taken from the right of FIG. 1.
Fig. 8 is a section taken along line 8-8 of FIG. 7. FIG. 9 is a view, on a larger scale, of part of the brush holder and of a cap of the box. Fig. 10 is a side elevation of a terminal. Fig. 11 is a plan view of this terminal. Fig. 12 is a perspective view of a broom. Fig. 13 is a view of an elastic part through which the terminal passes.
The machine shown comprises a cylindrical cabinet 10 made of a non-ferromagnetic material, for example brass, aluminum, plastic, etc., one end 12 of which is closed. This end has an opening 14 in which is housed a bearing 15 for a shaft 17 of the mature rear. End 12 also has a pair of threaded openings 16. The opposite end of cargo box 10 is open. A cap 20 is used to close the cylindrical cabinet.
This cap comprises a cheek 22 on which the end of the box 10 rests, and a pair of openings 24. It further comprises a second pair of openings 26 and 28 and a central opening 30 in which is housed a bearing 31. The cylindrical box 10 and the ca puchon 20 form the envelope of the electromagnetic machine. A stator 40, in the form of a hollow cylinder, is wedged against the closed end 12 of the cylindrical box 10. It has a pair of grooves 42, 44, parallel to the longitudinal axis of rotation of the shaft of the cylinder. 'frame, as we will see later.
When the stator 40 is manufactured, a privileged axis 40 'is marked, that is to say that its annular surface receives a mark indicating a privileged diameter corresponding to the direction of magnetization. The grooves 42 and 44 are cut so that the diameter passing through these grooves coincides with this axis. When the stator is magnetized, the poles are placed along the preferred axis. Thus the grooves coincide with the middle of the two poles, that is to say that the groove 42 coincides with the middle of one pole and the groove 44 with the middle of the other pole.
The stator therefore has a restricted section at the level of each groove in the central zone of each of the magnetized poles.
The stator is made of a magnetic material with a strong remanence in an Fe - Ni Al - Co - Cu alloy. The stator 40 is machined with precision, so that its position is exactly defined in the cylindrical box 10. The axis of the stator 40 coincides with the longitudinal axis of this box.
A laminated frame 50 is mounted on the axis 17 carried by the bearings 15 and 31. The frame 50 comprises a winding and has a collector 54.
A brush holder 60 is mounted near the open end of the cylindrical box 10. It comprises a part 62 of plastic material having a pair of radial slots 64 in which are mounted brushes 66 capable of sliding longitudinally in these slots. . The brushes 66 are pushed towards the collector by springs 68. Cables 69 embedded in the mass of the brushes are used to connect the brushes to an electrical circuit. The part 62 has a pair of bosses 70 on which the springs 68 are mounted, peripheral rounded slots 83.
A disc of insulating material 80, forming an insulator for the brushes, has rounded peripheral slots 82 and 84. The slots 82, like the slots 84, are diametrically opposed. The insulator 80 also has a radial slot 85. The material constituting this disc is slightly elastic, so that after the brushes have been mounted in the part 62 and the springs have been assembled, the disc 80 can then be inserted so that the bosses 70 are engaged in the slots 82. However, to put the disc 80 in place, it is necessary to compress it, so as to close the slot 85.
The elasticity of the disc allows it to remain in place under the action of an outwardly directed force exerted on the diametrically opposed bosses 70.
A pair of terminals 86 and 88 protrude outside the brush holder 60. Terminal 86 is connected to cable 69 embedded in one of the brushes 66 and terminal 88 is likewise connected to the cable of the other. be broom. Tabs 86a and 88a are used to clamp the cables in terminals 86 and 88. These terminals protrude outward through openings 26 and 28 in cap 20.
They are mounted freely relative to the support 60, so that the movement of the terminals has little influence on the movement of this support, and vice versa. This assembly is obtained by twisting the ends 86b and 88b of the terminals at an angle of approximately 90 degrees, as seen in FIG. 9. Each of the twisted ends is housed in a notch 62a provided in the part 62. The terminals 86 and 88 protrude through holes 87 drilled in the insulating disc 80.
In order to ensure a cushioned mounting of the two terminals 86 and 88, a pair of split rubber plugs 90 and 92 are mounted in and held in the openings 26 and 28, so that the terminals protrude through the slots. of these corks. The plug 90 can be red and the plug 92 black. Each of these plugs has a cylindrical portion 94 and a substantially cube-shaped portion 96 which is offset from the axis of the cylindrical portion, so as to prevent rotation of the plug when it is in place, as shown. clearly fig. 7 and 13.
The stator 40 is first inserted into the cylindrical housing 10, the grooves 42 and 44 being aligned with the openings 16 of the housing 10. The armature is then inserted, one end of the shaft 17 extending through the housing. bearing mounted in the opening 14. After insertion of the frame, the brush support is inserted, the brushes being moved radially so as to come into contact with the collector 54. The support 60 is then moved so that the slots peripherals 83 and 84 are aligned with the grooves 42 and 44 which are themselves aligned with the openings 16.
The cap 20 is then put in place, one of the terminals, 86, passing through the slot of the plug placed in the opening 26, and the other terminal 88, passing through the other plug. As indicated above, one of these plugs can be red and the other black, the red plug indicating the positive terminal and the black plug the negative terminal.
Finally, a pair of bolts 100 and 102 are placed through the openings 24 of the part 20, the peripheral slots of the brush holder 60, the grooves 42 and 44 and the threaded openings 16 at the end of the cylindrical box 10. The The diameter of the bolts 100, 102 is smaller than the dimensions of the grooves 42 and 44, the grooves 83 and the slots 84. Thus, these bolts do not come into contact with the stator 40 or with the brush holder 60. The bolts are made of a non-magnetic material, preferably non-magnetic stainless steel.
Once the parts have been assembled, the stator 40 is magnetized in the direction 40 ', the north pole being chosen so that the machine rotates in the desired direction when the positive terminal is connected to a current source and the negative terminal is grounded or connected to a return conductor. The poles are therefore formed in the vicinity of the grooves 42, 44. The section of the stator being smaller at the level of these grooves than elsewhere, the lines of force are closer in the vicinity of these grooves than elsewhere. , which produces a concentration of the magnetic field in these areas.
There is some clearance between the notches of the bracket 60 and the bolts 100, 102, so that the bracket has the possibility of limited movement relative to these bolts. Likewise, the two terminals 86 and 88, although fixed by their parts 86b, 88b which are twisted at right angles to the main body of the terminals, allow limited movement of the brush holder 60. Furthermore, the terminals 86 and 88 are mounted in plugs 90 and 92 which also allow relative movement between the terminals and cap 20.
The envelope shown comprises a cylindrical box, one end of which is closed. It could be built in another way. For example, both ends could be open. It could also include two parts joined in any plane located between the ends of the envelope.
