Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 Method of manufacturing a dial and dial obtained by this method The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a dial, in particular a watch dial, characterized by the fact that one injects, on a wafer of material synthetic plastic, a synthetic plastic material of a color different from that of said plate, so as to constitute signs on the latter.

  Another subject of the invention is a dial obtained by the above method and characterized in that it has signs on at least one of its faces.

  According to an implementation of the above process, it is possible to manufacture a watch dial by injecting on one side of a plate made of synthetic plastic material, for example polystyrene, a synthetic plastic material of a different color from that constituting said plate so as to constitute figures thereon; for this purpose, a mold or a mask having orifices corresponding to said numbers is placed on one of the faces of said wafer, then the wafer provided with its mask is placed opposite the extrusion orifice of an injection machine. plastic material, polystyrene for example, constituting the numbers of the dial.

  The plate may be molded from a phosphorescent synthetic plastic material, for example polystyrene, containing particles of a phosphorescent material, the digits then being made of a non-phosphorescent plastic.

  The plate can also be of a non-phosphorescent plastic material, the digits then being in a phosphorescent plastic.

  The plate bearing the numbers may be convex or concave and have a round or polygonal shape, viewed in plan. Dials of measuring devices, in particular speedometers, can also be produced by the method indicated above.

  your plastic plate can also be metallized on at least one of its faces, that is to say covered with fine metallic particles, silver for example, this operation being carried out in a vacuum in a known manner.
