合成樹脂二重成形品(以下二重成形品という)は
表面に金属メツキを施した例えばアクリル系樹
脂、ポリスチレン樹脂、ABS樹脂等を原料とし
た内側に設けられる合成樹脂成形品(以下内側成
形品とよぶ)を、予め用意し、これを、その外側
で一定形状の成形面を形成する透明な合成樹脂成
形品の成形用金型内に挿入固定しておき、つい
で、溶融した透明な合成樹脂原料を該金型キヤビ
テイ内に圧入して金属メツキを表面に施した内側
成形品と一体化して得られるものである。ところ
が、このようにして作られた二重成形品は、内側
の成形品と外側の透明な合成樹脂よりなる成形品
(以下外側成形品とよぶ)との接合面に、成形時
における収縮差ないし変形に起するわずかな隙間
が生ずることは避けられない。したがつて、例え
ば水道蛇口ノブなどに長い間使つているうちに、
隙間からホコリ、水等が侵入し成形品の美観を著
しく損ねるという欠点があつた。本発明はこのよ
うな欠点のない二重成形品を提供するもので、上
記内側の成形品の金属メツキ表面に透明な合成樹
脂溶液を塗布し、これを、透明な外側成形品の成
形金型キヤビテイ内に挿入固定しておき、透明な
合成樹脂原料を該キヤビテイ内に圧入することに
より隙間を封じて、ごみや水の侵入を許さぬ構造
としていつまでも美しさを保持する二重成形品の
製造法を提供するものである。
