D'après la fig. 1, le métier comprend, énumérés dans l'ordre d'avancement du travail, les dispositifs suivants : une ensouple 1 pour la chaîne 23 ; des cy lindres tendeurs-distributeurs 2, 3, 4 ; un transporteur 5 de la chaîne 23 monté oscillant autour d'une ai guille 6 ; un cylindre rainuré 7 remplaçant les lisses usuelles ; un extracteur 9 oscillant autour d'un pivot 10 pour effectuer l'enlèvement du tissu formé ; des cylindres 11 et 12 constituant le templet et le contre- templet ; un cylindre principal 13 d'entraînement de l'étoffe avec un petit cylindre auxiliaire 14 ;
Luigi Ripamonti, Milan (Italy), is mentioned as the inventor. Weaving technicians have long been looking for devices removing the drawbacks of the looms which are now in use, drawbacks due to the preponderance of alternative movements which limit the speed, cause wear in the various parts involved in these movements and cause considerable noise.
Among the various known devices tending to obviate the shortcomings of the usual looms, those using a rotary cylinder instead of all the heddles for opening the shed have had a certain favor.
However, this solution still presents several difficulties of practical realization, especially as regards the clamping of one weft on the other after the regular insertion and removal. of the finished fabric of the forming cylinder.
This invention relates to a rectilinear loom comprising a rotary cylinder for forming the fabric, characterized in that this cylinder rotates constantly and uniformly in the direction of warp advance and is provided with two series of perpendicular grooves l 'one to the other, among which the first, arranged on the edge of certain discs constituting the cylinder, are able to receive and support the warp threads, while the second, arranged along generators of the cylinder, are able to receive the weft threads introduced by a tension device,
the profile of these second grooves having an L-shape at an obtuse angle, the input edges of which cooperate with an extractor device mounted behind the cylinder to carry out the feeding of the weft threads, the clamping of one weft against the other and removing the formed tissue, after which the tissue is gripped by templets and counter-templets which provide for its transverse widening.
The. accompanying drawing shows, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the loom forming the subject of the invention. The fi-. 1 is a schematic side view. Fig. 2 is an enlarged cross section of the rotating cylinder and a tissue removal member. Fig. 3 is a side view of a portion of the cylinder.
Fig. 4 is a large-scale axial view of an L-shaped groove in the cylinder.
Fig. 5 is a view of a device for conveying the chain son of the cylinder, on a larger scale.
Figs. 6 and 7 show the two types of blades included in this device.
Fig. 8 is a perspective view of a portion of the cylinder.
According to fig. 1, the trade comprises, listed in the order of progress of the work, the following devices: a beam 1 for the chain 23; cylinders tensioners-distributors 2, 3, 4; a conveyor 5 of the chain 23 mounted oscillating around a needle 6; a grooved cylinder 7 replacing the usual smooth; an extractor 9 oscillating around a pivot 10 to effect the removal of the formed tissue; cylinders 11 and 12 constituting the templet and the counter-templet; a main fabric driving cylinder 13 with a small auxiliary cylinder 14;
a secondary cylinder 15 with a small auxiliary cylinder 16, also for driving the fabric, and finally a beam 17 for winding the fabric formed.
The cylinder 7 is formed by a stack of parallel coaxial disks, in contact with each other, all keyed on the same shaft 8. These disks have three different profiles, namely intermediate disks A, beater disks B and intermediate discs C (fig. 3 and 8). The discs A and C are substantially equal and are mounted as shown in fig. 8, to allow the opening of the two layers of warp threads. The succession of disks takes place as follows: B, A, B, C, B, A, B, C ...
The intermediate discs A and C have a polygonal profile, the angles of the discs A being offset with respect to the angles of the discs C so that each projection of the discs A corresponds to a depression of the discs C, and vice versa. Each corner of disks A and C is provided with a groove 28 (Fig. 8). As the warp threads 23 rest on the cut of these intermediate discs A, C, the alternation of the projections and the depressions creates the formation of the shed, through which the weft passes, as well as through the grooves 28.
The discs B have a generally circular profile and have a series of marginal grooves having the general shape of an L at an obtuse angle (fig. 2 and 4), the part. 18 'forming the foot of the L serving for the passage of a device 22 for tensioning the weft threads, while the part 18 forming the leg of the L is inclined with respect to the radius of the disc B.
The rear entry edge of each groove 18, 18 'is cut so as to form a housing 19 located opposite a projecting point 20 formed by the anterior edge, as can be seen more particularly in FIG. . 4.
As a result of this conformation, one obtains first the feeding of the weft and then the clamping of one weft on the other. Finally, the point 20 and the housing 19 serve to beat the weft thread fed by the weft thread tensioning device (22) which runs in the part 18 'of the groove.
The removal of the fabric 25 from the cylinder 7 to transport it to the winding beam 17 is carried out by the fabric extractor 9, oscillating around its axis 10 and consisting of a stack of lamellae whose spacing corresponds to that of the discs intercalaries A and C, so that they form a sort of comb which penetrates with its points into the grooves between the different discs B, insinuating itself under the fabric 25 and thus removing it by its movement d rapid oscillation.
The described loom allows the fabric to be formed in a continuous and unidirectional fashion, without dangerous alternating jolts, but simply by subjecting it to pressure from the bottom up at the point of exit to remove it from the forming cylinder 7 The weft thread tensioning device 22 is provided with a stop S (Fig. 8) for handling and carries the weft thread through the channel formed by the portions 18 'of the L-shaped grooves. This channel is in axial alignment with the grooves 28 of the intermediate discs A and C.
This weft thread tension device may be a rigid needle, a metal thread, a small shuttle or a similar device.
On the sides of the fabric advancing uniformly always in the same direction are applied widening and compensating members of the shrinkage of the fabric, constituted by temples and counter-templets 11 and 12. The loom further comprises edge-forming devices, not shown, since the weft threads are cut off at the ends.
The warp threads 23 resting on the cylinder 7 by an arc of a little less than 1800 and the grooves 18 - 18 'can be quite wide (naturally in relation to the diameter of the cylinder), the weft insertions can take place. one after another with moderate speed, although the rotational speed of the cylinder 7 and, therefore, the fabric forming speed is high.
The chain conveyor shown in fig. 5 is formed by two series of parallel blades 26 and 27. Each blade 26 of the first series (fig. 6) has a concave inner edge in the form of an arc of a circle which rests against the edge of the corresponding beater disc B. with which it is aligned to keep the wires separate and keep them in the peripheral groove between the beater discs B.
By the presence of the blades 26, the warp threads do not have the possibility of deflecting laterally and consequently of being superimposed, of intertwining or of tangling.
Each blade 27 of the second series (fig. 7) is aligned with an intermediate disc A or C. It has an internal profile presenting an anterior beak 27 '(fig. 7) and a posterior beak 27 ", which during the rotation of the cylinder 7 are in a particular position with respect to the grooves 18 - 18 'of the discs B to guarantee the guiding of the warp threads, so that they arrive at the cylinder 7 perfectly parallel and aligned with an intermediate disc A or C for the regular formation of the shed The blades 27 enter the peripheral grooves between the disks B.
The series of blades 26 and the series of blades 27 may be oscillating or else stationary, free or guided, possibly subjected to the action of springs, depending on the requirements of the weaving and the characteristics of the loom and the thread.
